1. By the way, Dark Stars are single coils, not humbuckers. They look like 'buckers because they have one row of pole pieces with adjustment screws opposite that look like extra pole pieces from a distance.
2. Sold and paid for in 2 minutes, some kind of record! Cheers Theo.
3. I'm selling these as I don't use fuzz much and I prefer my Supercollider to both of these. First off is a Frantone Bassweet, which is a super-heavy super-creamy stoner fuzz. This is the actual pedal reviewed on Bassfuzz.com - I bought it from Grygrx, the owner of the site. Although the paint has suffered somewhat, everything inside is in tip top condition though and has been given a once over by the pedal builder, who also updated the circuit to the latest specs. According to Fran, new version is a bit tamer in that they have much more control in the lower Sustain settings and a different tone contour. Frantone has now ceased operations so these are no longer in production. I'm after [s]£120[/s] SOLD! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, we have this custom one-off Woolly Mammoth clone, built for me by Dangerboy - The Hairy Elephant! Where the old controls were Output, EQ, Pinch and Wool, I've renamed these to Volume, Tusk, Trunk, and Hair. The only thing is Trunk and Hair are swapped around so that Trunk controls the gain and Hair controls the gating, when it was intended to be the other way around! But it more than makes up for that by have a PINK LED! Steve did me a bargain on this one, so I'll pass it on - [s]bargain at £45 posted[/s] SOLD!
4. That Talkbass description was right though - you get lots of clackety-clack as the strings hit the fingerboard. Also, as the strings 'mwah' you hear a bit of harsh rattling as the string vibrates against the board. That's why I prefer something a bit softer like rosewood, and with flats or half rounds, fingerboard wear won't be an issue.
5. Filters sound good before overdrive (Sansamp) and after heavy distortion/fuzz (Boss HM-2) I reckon. Boss Heavy Metal into Sansamp is also a nice sound, and I prefer flangers etc nearer the end. Multicomp placement is a tricky one, but since the overdrive on the Sansamp is so touch sensitive I would choose to put compression after rather than before it. If you've got the stadard Decimator I'd shove it at the end, if you got the one with the fx loop put it first and put all of the other pedals in the fx loop. Boss Heavy Metal EBS IQ Sansamp Multicomp Flanger Decimator
6. This didn't sell - so will offer it to you for £95 posted before relisting it!
7. Status Hotwire Halfrounds They are rounds that are then ground down to be as smooth as flats. They are very smooth indeed, so no finger noise and they're kind to your fretboard, but they have a bit more sing and sustain to them than regular flats which is great for fretless. Bags of mwah with these - only £16.99 too!

9. Not sure this will work with the M13 in case that's what you wanted it for Ste! It has take an RJ45 plug, like on a ethernet network cable.
10. You need to update your link then! Interested in a part ex with the Warmoth SG in my sig below?
11. I was looking for one of these a while ago, and there's a couple of others after em in the wanted section...
12.
Not 100% sure if this is in the right forum, but what the hey! just thought it would be cool to see what strings people use (and combinations of srings). I've heard that people don't like the tone of certain strings in certain places eg. so EBs might have a lovely 'E', but you use elixers for the 'G' and elites for 'A and 'D'. Also, do you thru-body some strings and put others through the bridge? I was thinking something like this: Current Set up: E - medium - D'Addario - bridge A - medium - D'Addario - thru-body D - medium - D'Addario - thru-body G - medium - Elites - thru body Feel free to put a dream set up
How come you don't put your E thru-body? Never really thought of mixing and matching like this before.
13. I'm just breaking in a set of Pyramid Gold flats on my P at the moment, they're fantastic. I've not tried LaBellas, but these are supposed to have all the thump of the LaBellas but with a lot more going on in the midrange. They also sound broken in immediately (unlike the Chromes I tried previously) and apparently stay sounding like that for a long time without getting excessively dull.
14. Great amps, well worth £500, especially since prices have gone up recently due to the exchange rate!
15. I'm leaning towards cash only at the mo. I'm really happy with my Squier VM P-Bass with flats for old school thump, and my Peavey T-40 for ric-like grind. I might consider upgrading the P to a proper Fender (passive P or PJ) if I find a real nice one at a good price though. I've been downsizing my pedal collection lately - I've just sold an OC-2, I sold you the Paisley, I have a Supercollider Beast alerady and I don't fancy the Zoom! You're welcome to come and try it out anytime though!
16. I'd recommend Markbass with a VT Bass pedal to make it sound like an Ampeg! That's what I use, although I might want to swap my 121P combo for a head+cab at some point.
17. I think you've just doubled it's value!
18. It's the same one you had Ben!
19. Love the transparent white finish! :brow:
20. If you're going for overdriven tones, put a tubescreamer type pedal into it - the mid hump from that will help to counteract the BDDI's mid scoop! Many people use an EQ pedal too, or as you said crank the mids on the amp. Or just buy a VT Bass!
21. Here's the info about the circuit: http://www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm
22. Sorted, buy Higgie's and sell yours on!
23. How about everyone from Basschat wears a silly hat so we can recognize each other and say hello?!
24. Actually they had a link to buy discount tickets for their previous gig and they say the link is to follow for the 100 Club one, so it looks like you won't have to!
25. I'll try and make it too, I love a bit o' funk. The myspace says there's a discount guestlist, let us know if you can sort us all out!
