1. The 121H is also a good match for this combo, it's a taller box than the mini 12 and will also give you deeper low end, but it's the same width so will look like a better match sitting underneath your combo.
2. So, if the knobs at noon on this amp result in a mid-scoop, I guess that get a flat EQ setting out of these you have to boost the mids, which due to the design also boosts the treble so you'll have to reduce the treble. Am I right?

Kaoss Pad

You just put the KP in one of the loops A or B or the LS-2, and set it to the correct mode that will allow you to switch between that loop and bypass. Then you can set the level control going into the loop with the knob on the pedal. I've not used a Kaoss Pad though, so maybe someone else can say why you're getting a volume drop.

Kaoss Pad

That pedal does not boost, it just reduces volume - it says 'passive attenuator'. Check out a MXR Micro Amp or Catalinbread Serrano Picoso (I just sold one of these on the forum!) or just search for clean boost pedals. Also, does the volume drop when the signal simply passes through the Kaoss Pad, or only when it's turned on? If the KP is screwing with your sound when it's turned off or in bypass mode, then I really recommend the Boss LS-2 instead so you can completely switch the KP out of your signal path when you're not using it.
5. Yeah, if I ever get one I'll try and get a lightweight 4-ohm cab that can handle 500W. I'd view it as a 500W amp with an extra 500W thrown in for free should you ever need it later!
6. Any idea what it weighs and if it's 4 or 8 ohms?

Kaoss Pad

I wouldn't bother - a DI box converts your signal to a low impedance balanced signal, which isn't necessarily at line level. I don't even think the Kaoss has balanced inputs so it would be a waste of time. You either need a preamp, or a clean boost pedal, or I reckon the Boss LS-2 would also do the trick.
8. If you want a dirty rock tone like you get from the Orange, I would suggest Ashdown - get the Little Giant 1000. A 1000W portable amp for only £290 delivered. It's even orange, so you'll feel right at home! They are brand new, but a few reports on Talkbass I've read are all very positive. Keep the Orange 1x15 cab if you can handle the weight, it's a beauty! I'm tempted to get the LG1000 with an Orange OBC115 myself, they'd look so PUURRTY... Not tried one myself, but I wouldn't plug straight into one with a passive bass because I don't think it has a very high impedance input. If you are doing this then maybe a buffer or boost pedal first in line would help out. If the KP's bypass is a bit of a tone sucker then putting it in the loop of a Boss LS-2 Line Selector would let you bypass it more cleanly and also allow you to adjust your separate volumes between having it engaged/disengaged.
10. If you want something with a warm and vintage vibe like your ABM then check out the Orange Crush 35B. Thinking of getting one myself! The Peavey Microbass gets rave reviews too and can be found new for £60.
11. Check out Rowbee's Ashdown ABM 500w head+cabs or the 300w combo in the for sale section - great amp for punk/rock.
12. Amp is now sold and paid for, thanks to those who were interested and missed out!
13. Sorry to see your amp's not moving mate, I'd buy it if I had the readies! You'd easily see that asking price on ebay though, stick it up as a 'buy it now' for £325 and it'll disappear!
14. I'm also looking to upgrade the P/J pups in my Yamaha fretless and would like to know if the Tonerider or Artec Giovannis would be a worthy upgrade. There's a nice looking Bartolini set on eBay, but for a lot more cash! Are you still looking Beedster, or did you try em out?
15. If it's for bedroom use only then you won't even need that many watts. I'm selling my rig for the same reasons as you and have a 2nd hand 20w Peavey Microbass on its way to me. These get great reviews, as do the Fender Bassman 25, Orange Crush 35B, Acoustic B20 and the smaller Eden Nemesis combos (there's an Eden N8 for sale in the classifieds that I almost bought before I found my Peavey bargain for £30!).
16. Soundslive.co.uk have 4 LG1000s in stock for £284 + £6 delivery. Some guy on Talkbass (an 11 year Ashdown endorser no less) reckons they sound like a cross between the ABM and Mark King signature series amps. Anyone gonna buy one?
17. I'd like to see the Compact vs the Trace Elliot 1153 and Orange OBC-115!
18. I'd love to see a mini vertically stacked 2x12 Vintage when the Eminence 3012s are released...
19. There goes my GAS again... no sorry, no trades at the moment, I must resist!
20. It weighs 59 lbs, just under 27 kg. It's heavier than it looks! EA have gone lightweight with their new range of amps, but according to reports I've read, the older designs like this one sound better. I don't think I'm interested in many trades at the moment... I'm sorted for basses and pedals and I have a Peavey Microbass practice amp that will tide me over until I decide to join another band at which point I will go amp shopping again. I have however been tempted to try out the Ashdown EVO 500 and Markbass LMII heads for sale on here, so I could be tempted by either of those! I've already had a firm offer from a BC member earlier today who wants to buy it in a couple of weeks time, but it's still for sale if someone wants to come and pick it up sooner than that!
21. NOW SOLD! This is a bass combo amp made by EA (Euphonic Audio), audiophile quality boutique amp manufacturers from the US (http://www.eaamps.com). This amp is now discontinued, but to give you an idea of it's worth, the Bass Gallery have one for sale for £1299 (See here). The head iAmp 350W head is removeable and the speaker cab is identical to the EA CXL-110. The amp has a 4 band parametric EQ with selectable width / Q points and 4 presets (deep, contour 1, contour 2 , bright) it also has an FX loop, adjustable level DI output with a top-of-the-range Jensen transformer, a line input for your mp3 player and a headphone output. The speaker is a 10" woofer with an adjustable level tweeter. Because this amp does not colour the sound, it faithfully and transparently reproduces whatever you put into it, making it ideal for acoustic guitars, upright basses, keyboards, etc. as well as regular electric basses. It works really well with a POD or Sansamp, letting the amp models come through in the way they were designed to be heard so they sound the same as if they were going through a recording desk. You can attach an extension cab to this amp to get the full 350W from the head - but it's seriously loud on it's own and can easily cope with gigs with a full band! There is a flip out carry handle underneath which also doubles as a tiltback stand, ideal for practice or when using a stage monitor so you can aim the speakers at your ears. It's in great condition with only a couple of barely noticeable dings on the surface. I'm selling this as I no longer play in a band and this amp's too good to be sat in my bedroom played at 5% volume! Here's some reviews: http://www.talkbass.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/597 http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=293&type=head (this review is for the iAmp 350 head which is the same as the one in this combo) http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...p+350+Head/10/1 (this review is for the iAmp 350 head which is the same as the one in this combo) http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...10+Cabinet/10/1 (this review is for the CXL-110 cab which is the same as the one in this combo) Here's the manual (original manual is included with the amp also): http://www.eaamps.com/2005/customercare/manuals/iAMP350Man.pdf I'm afraid I don't have any suitable box for this amp so I wouldn't want to risk posting it. Pick up is preferable from Streatham, SW London, or I could deliver locally. I'd take offers around the £400 mark...
