1. I'm looking at DIs at the moment; I intend to get a VT Bass as an amp modeller going into some kind of stereo modulation and was looking at the Radial ProD2 passive stereo DI box. A headphone amp would also be very useful in this kind of setup, so I'm watching to see what you come up with!
2. If you don't have fat tone without pedals, maybe you need a new bass and/or amp! What are you using? Also, for maximum phatness run your Multicomp in tubesim mode.
3. Seems there's been no interest in this over here so it's gone to ebay! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=120277725618
4. I want to hear what it's like after a heavy fuzz (in the fx loop and with the exp pedal) using the LP filter. I love my Supercollider going into my 442 filter, I hope I can get similar tones with one of these! Hopefully you've got a big muff or similar lying around...
5. Nice Meatwad! Has it got the switch added to retain the fx loop in bypass mode? I'm after one of these myself - I thought if you wanted an expression socket you had to make do with a stereo fx send/return socket and use a Y-cable - or is having the exp socket on the bottom a custom mod too? Also, did you get stung for import duty/charges?
6. PM'ed re the Pedaltrain
7. Back to the top with you...
8. Try the Muff into the Bottom Feeder. It should sound pretty close to my Supercollider -> Tonefactor 442 combo that gives me some really nice drum'n'bass synth like sounds. Might not be useable for your band, but it's a lot of fun to play!
9. Ibanez LU-20 takes some beating - true bypass and blue LED, big display, and only £30. It takes a low E no problem, I've tuned down to D with it too. I've not got a five stringer but apparently it takes the low B fine as well.
10. Bump for price drop...
11. That's cool Kev - is that jus tthe Zoom B2.1u? Here's me messing around making some drum'n'bass noises: P-Bass -> Earthbound Supercollider -> Tonefactor 442 Analogue Filter (bass mod) -> Line6 Lowdown (standard 'rock' preset) -> Soundcard -> T-Racks compression Bass only Drum & Bass mix
12. Here you go: P-Bass -> Earthbound Supercollider -> Tonefactor 442 Analogue Filter (bass mod) -> Line6 Lowdown (standard 'rock' preset) -> Soundcard -> T-Racks compression Bass only Drum & Bass mix
13.
I wish I had a decent way to record clips. I've managed to get some awesome sounds running: Boss OC-2>Modded Russian Big Muff>Mutron III>Atomic Echo Clone (Way Huge Aqua Puss clone) Sometimes I whack an MXR M-117R reissue Flanger in for good measure
You can record with pretty much any PC. Get a jack adaptor to turn your big plug into a smaller one and plug it into the mic/line in socket in your computer. There's a sound recorder that comes with windows that will do the job, but there's also loads of freeware audio editors out there! I'm gonna do that clip now whilst the missus is watching Corrie!
14. I've just got a really sick D&B bass sound out of my Supercollider fuzz going into a Tonefactor 442 analogue filter (which you can now buy as the Boomstick Bottom Feeder). Even though the fuzz compresses the peaks, it's still possible to control the envelope with how much you dig in, and it sounds like a really dark Renegade Hardware style filtered bass synth. Adding octave/modulation/delay to this would be awesome. I'll do some clips alongside drums sometime this weekend!
15. Going, going... GONE!
16. Here's some sound samples of the new Chunk Systems Octavius synth: http://www.chunksystems.com/os.htm#sounds

18. Try a Boss LS-2 so that you can blend 2 sounds together in paralell, one of your synths in one loop and a nasty fuzz in the other.
19. Many believe this is the best bass distortion ever created. Shouldn't last long at that price!

What Pedal...

I just pre-ordered one from Wymore Guitars over the other side of the pond. The guy has 10 on order and will get them at the end of June. $150 + $27 delivery! It doesn't have the DI output like the Sansamp but to me that's a bonus as I want to run delay and modulation after the amp sim, I'm thinking EHX Stereo Memory Man, then into a stereo Radial DI box. A common complaint of the Sansamp Bass Driver is the scooped mids resulting in getting lost in the mix, but this pedal is supposed to fix that with it's dedicated mids knob, and can do sounds ranging from hard distorted metal to clean motown fliptop.

What Pedal...

I really want a Tech21 VT Bass from the US, especially as they'll be around £150 when they arrive here and are only $150 over there. It's meant to kick the arse out of the regular Sansamp tonewise. I've been trying to get one delivered but everywhere's out of stock until July. In fact, if she can find any get her to grab as many as possible and sell them onto us lot for a small profit!
22. Bump! It's up on ebay now - but if anyone knows a guitarist after a great auto wah, please convince them to buy it!
23. Both of these still for sale people, my common sense got the better of me - I can't afford to buy more stuff at the moment until I sell a few items!
