1. Make it a kit of the VT1 Standard with a pre-drilled enclosure and a lower price and I think you'd be onto a winner. By the way, how packed are the internals of the VT1 Standard, any chance of us using a different box with a smaller footprint?
2. I've just got the VM precision for £189 new from gak.co.uk and am in love. If I had the money I would get the fretted AND fretless jazz to complete the set!
3. I just got a Squier Vintage Modified Precision yesterday, I have to say it's the best value P-Bass out there today. Not too heavy, thinnish neck with satin finish, Duncan pickup, white body with a black plate and rosewood fingerboard. Nails the vintage P-Bass tone and got it for £189 from gak.co.uk. So not worth the extra for a MIM Fender unless you need that logo on the headstock!
4. The EBS needs the internal trimpots adjusting to suit your bass. If you couldn't hear it doing anything they must have been set wrong or your bass output to low, I can get very over the top squash with mine!
5. Check out all the loopers first, this is a good resource: http://www.loopersdelight.com
6. If someone's got one and can make a recording, I'd love to hear this pedal!
7. You should've posted this in the effects section...
8. PM'd regarding the B2!
9. I'm selling an FBV Express controller pedal by the way which is a perfect match for this great amp if anyone's interested! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14324
10.
The tone for hysteria is a Sawtooth with some fuzz, I think. However I get a really good tone by running my Little Big Muff and then turning the mids and treble right down (you'll still need some of each though, so don't turn it right off). For whom the bell tolls is easy, fuzz with quite high tone and then slowly rock the wah back and forth. [edit] This guy does the job quite well one a Boss GT-6B, try PM'ing him. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fRBwhZA3YuM
Turbo Rat will nail that one mate, or the Dunlop Hendrix Fuzz. There's clips of both of these over at talkbass.com.
11. Doesn't work with the www, remove that bit: http://clearance.soundcontrol.co.uk/index.php
12. I'm up for this, it would be great to meet some of you after being on here for a while. I'll bring my Yamaha fretless (equipped with quarter pounder pickup) and my pedal board (if anyone's interested in trying out an EBS Multicomp, Digitech Bass Synth Wah, Humphrey Bad Monkey and DHA VT2 Dual Custom!). Shoot me a PM if anyone's driving up from London and has room for a small one in the car!
13. I've got the 300W version, I bolted some heavy duty wheels to the bottom that I bought for under a tenner on ebay and now I can cart it around with ease. Thinking of getting a dog lead for it so I can take it for walkies.
14. Sounds to me like it just makes your signal a bit thin and weak sounding. With guitar and bass, I preferred the sound before the pedal was turned on! Am I alone here?
15. Open to offers and trades for any interesting pedals...
16. 2 French Toasts on there?! How do you have em set up? I have one, the regular fuzz is ok, but not really able to use the octave up cos it cuts too much low end. Would like to try it with a blender though!
17.
i've been wondering about one of those...you reckon it's worth it ?
I just got one for £40 off the basschat forum, unopened in it's box. Well worth it for that price. The envelope filter sounds pretty good, and the octaver tracks really well. I've not really found much of a use for the synth sounds, but if you fuzz them up they can sound really filthy. If you're not sure, wait around for a second hand one, that way you can get your money back!
18. If you've got £300+ to spend, try and find an old AKAI Deep Impact, or for £60 get a Digitech Bass Synth Wah. I have the latter and it can put out some awesome sounds. It has a mode where it has 2 effects on at once, a sub-octave plus an envelope filter, put that before my £20 Danelectro French Toast fuzz pedal and you have a wicked effect for DnB. Electro Harmonix Bass Multi Synth is also meant to be a good one, but not heard myself. Zoom B2.1u has synths and with an expression pedal which could be interesting, but not sure how well they track your notes or how good they sound. I have a Line6 amp with built in synth and an external FBV express expression pedal, but the tracking is horrible.
19. Here's my first board. Spider Engineering case, with rubber feet added to the wooden platform to allow the cables to go underneath. Chain is: Ibanez LU20 Tuner -> EBS Multicomp -> DigitechBass Synth Wah -> DHA VT2 Dual Custom Bass -> Aphex Bass Xciter The massive power supply is the 12v one supplied by DHA, and my mini 9v Johnnyshredfreak supply sits on top. The power strip is right angled so that the leads can tuck in down the side of the board to keep things tidy. All of this has been bought within the last 6 weeks, letting off some serious GAS! 20. LOL, I'm surprised my work haven't blocked it yet, seeing as I spend a great deal of my working hours on here and on talkbass!
