  1. That's a shame, they could just as easily made it work like a sidechain then it would have been compatible with every other fuzz/filter out there. I'm sure I had a filter once that had an envelope input but I can't remember which one it was! You could either split your signal pre-fuzz and send it to the envelope in, or even send a drum machine to it. WMD Fatman perhaps?
  2. Not sure what's going on with your DAW then, perhaps installing the LAME MP3 encoder might help. Can your DAW encode to 24-bit/48khz FLAC at all? If you save the FLAC direct to WAV, it will probably still be 96khz, hence why the Sonos will still have trouble with it. You DAW should be able to downsample to 48khz though, then I would still recommend FLAC over WAV has it saves a lot of space with no affect on quality. For most, using a DAW for this would be overkill, but if you already have one you may as well try and get it working! I have a copy of dBPowerAmp that I use for ripping CDs and converting to FLAC, but it's not free. MusicBee is my favourite music player app and that supports ripping and conversion, perhaps give that a shot?
  3. It's a pretty legendary filter for sure. That link socket though is only supposed to work in conjunction with the Brown Dog fuzz... It depends on whether the link output from the Brown Dog is a CV signal (i.e. DC voltage) or just a dry output signal splitter. If the latter, than you could utilise that link input on the 00Funk just by using any standard signal splitter before any fuzz. The schematics are floating about if anyone can be bothered to find out for sure!
  4. Low pass for sure, band pass is more for guitar.
  5. Another famous band playing BBs now, Stereophonics: https://youtu.be/v7OYywdLOVM
  6. What's the reason for wanting a neck through, @Al Krow? Sure, they look pretty sleek and feel nice in the hand, but then again I've heard many top players say they prefer the increased punch/attack you get from a bolt on neck. Personally I'd go for that over increased sustain any day. Sustain is great when you're playing a guitar solo, but to me bass is quite a percussive instrument, and I doubt many drummers seek increased sustain from their kick drums!
  7. A lovely BB3000 for sale here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/219406111488370/permalink/2093180760777553/
  8. It's hard to put a price on something that doesn't come up for sale very often, what would you say it's worth? American Vintage models from the last 10 years or so can go for £1200ish. This one is in the same bracket but 20 years older, so semi-vintage, rarer and seemingly mint condition.
  9. I'd say wireless was a no-no. They're mostly only designed for music playback so low latency isn't a priority, opting to build in a buffer to help prevent any signal dropouts, which results in a delay between what you play and what you hear!
  10. I knew of this problem and it had been turning me off of getting one from this range, so nice to know there is a workaround and thought it worth sharing (post originally from Talkbass):
  11. Single coil hum depends largely on the environment you're playing in. I get barely any hum from my bridge pickup at home, but when I tried a BB at the Yamaha store I noticed a lot - probably due to their lighting.
  12. The estimate from the Tech21 rep in that other thread was 100 Hz! The rumble filter is more designed for acoustic guitars, where you want to roll off actual bass and not just subsonics.
  13. It is a HPF, but as it's not a bass specific pre, it'll be set higher than for example a Thumpinator. I have a figure of 80Hz in my head, no idea if I've remembered that from another thread or just made it up!
  14. If you want to eliminate the hum that comes from ground loops, you need a switcher that has one of the outputs electrically isolated from the other. So not a cheap ABY or LS-2. I have a Radial Twin City only used once and surplus to requirements I've been meaning to list should you decide to get one!
  15. Or route it out for a matching MM pickup!

    Magnets

Some wah pedals might have coils inside, some might have transformers if they have a DI output. They might be affected by a magnet, but then again the overall effect may be negligible.
  17. MXR: Watery, rubbery, vocal-like Fwonkbeta: KFC bargain bucket with triple gravy
  18. Surely Limelight will build your one with next to no relicing if that's what you want? Every one is built to order, worth an ask. Might even be cheaper!
  19. You might also want to consider the Line6 Helix Stomp. It can model a Darkglass B7K, Sansamp BDDI, and a bunch of bass amps and speaker sims, plus every effect you could think of!
  20. There was an OmniCabSim Mini in the for sale section recently, not sure if it's still there. The most recent Ultra pedals from the Darkglass range all feature cab sims, and of course they are baked into anything Tech21/Sansamp!
  21. If I was applying to program patches I'd want to send them all, unless of course for some reason they specified only one.
  22. I could be wrong but I think Doug from @Darkglass confirmed this in another thread elsewhere a while back?
  23. To me, the Enigma and the newer Mutrons don't have 'it', they sound too clean. The old Mini Q-Tron does though, that's a great filter apart from the volume boost. The Emma Discombobulator is another one I'm keeping - it's brighter and more subtle then the Fwonk, but that means it works really well going into overdrive/distortion, sounding more like a wah.
