Yet another ruined gig due to the mix.

I found this discussion relevant to this thread (from 29:04): -
There are also USB to 9V adaptor cables for a couple of quid on eBay that you can pair up with any old USB power bank you might already own to make a poor man's Pedaltrain Volto!
-
You could try a non-permanent version of a battery clip to barrel jack adapter, battery secured to the unit via a cable tie? Or an external battery box... https://www.amazon.co.uk/PP3-Enclosed-Battery-Holder-Switch/dp/B00UNH65H2

I just listened to that very last vid through my hifi speakers + sub.
-
Or you could just get a Truetone supply which is more flexible with mA ratings. BTW just seen an interesting OC-2 patch posted on TB, using the Pitch Ring Mod rather than the octaver - somebody give it a go and report back? I wonder if it takes phantom power like the Sansamp?
-
-
I've never heard of The Goldbergs!
-
-
I think most people in the UK (myself included) never heard of Kings X until they read a Sansamp manual! But if you hadn't heard of Muse, Foos, etc, then I think it's safe to say you've been living under a heavy rock.
-
I have the old Tender Octaver Mk1, which to my surprise is perfectly happy sharing power on a daisy chain!
-
Muse and Foo Fighters would have to be up there. I'd bet most under 30s have never even heard of Yes!

You've almost converted that to a Vintage Pro already, just add chrome pickups! -

My previous gen Classic Pro with hard case is up for 275 if you fancy saving a few quid! https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/323941-epiphone-thunderbird-classic-pro-in-vintage-sunburst-with-fitted-hard-case/ -
Made in Japan late 80s, these are the basses favoured by Duff from Guns and Roses. Very playable with a Jazz neck and the pickups have fatter polepieces which bump up the output - but they are very bright and growly unlike most overwound pickups. Quite a few battle scars on it, but this just adds to the mojo! I tried every PJ Wunjos had in stock last summer and this blew them all out of the water. It got a new jack socket, fresh D'Addario nickels and a setup from them, then I realised that I just wanted to use my BB1025X for everything instead and I did need that low B after all, and it has hardly been touched since! Gig bag and courier not included - I may be able to supply one and ship however but I have a few more basses to sell than I have boxes, so send me a PM. Otherwise come and try before you buy in St Neots, Cambs. Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QAz3aDMkqsibsiJn7

Very good condition, one teeny tiny chip in the headstock and another on the body. Comes with a cheeky Gibson trussrod cover (plus the original) and Gibson/Levys leather strap and a fitted Epiphone hard case. Courier can be arranged, otherwise come and try before you buy in St Neots, Cambs. Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/JGHtSsC6Ff93eaVp9

Excellent condition apart from one ding on the front as pictured. The best Squier Jazz in production, some even say better than a MIM Fender. I just never really gelled with Jazz basses. Pick up welcome or local delivery possible to Huntingdon / St Neots areas, shipping can be arranged, or I can meet before work in central London. Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/PoFd4oWAaTQ62ynu9

Fender American Standard Precision Bass in the rare transparent Sunset Orange colour over an ash body. Also features the S1 switch that puts the pickup into parallel mode for a slightly different sound. This bass has hardly been used - the guy I bought it from was a bit of a collector and had 3 of them sat virtually unplayed in their cases. I learnt a few songs on it and took it to an audition which didn't work out, and have barely touched it since. No marks on the bass itself, just a few scuffs on the hard case. Courier can be arranged for additional cost, otherwise come and try before you buy in St Neots, Cambs. Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/KgZRyT5z5Xt2IW333

Yup, this is more like it: You can definitely hear that compressor working on the lows, letting a little pop through for each note. Noice.
-
We got it cheaper at least! Hope we're not far behind in the queue though.

In isolation I have to say I far prefer the tones he demoed with his GED2112 pre... You can definitely hear the two separate layers here. HOWEVER I know enough to realise that in the mix all that can go out of the window and it will probably be awesome. Prime example - I play my BB bass into a B3K direct into headphones, it sounds ok but uninspiring. Mix in a full band though and it sounds perfect. Looking forward to seeing how the dUg pedal performs under the same conditions!

Plenty of people on this forum are using PA gear as their stage monitor though, that's my point: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/315455-interesting-frfr-story/ These people are using setups like this precisely because they are using digital modellers or Sansamps, and want to be able to monitor as accurately as possible what they are sending to the desk via their own rigs. Of course you are at the mercy of the tech, but it's ultimately another variable they have to think about when it would have been nice to have it switchable so that the main out is just like the XLR. I bet the pedal will work just fine for me, but I can see why others would prefer it to work differently. Constructive criticism and ideas for improvements for future revisions should be taken on board rather than just trying to shoot every argument down.
