  1. It's still in stock on their website. I only know cos I was checking to see if they still had the black 2025X...
  2. I'd call it a design flaw though if the zero fret is smooth when you buy it new and the grooves develop over time. I now have GAS for a stainless steel zero fret thanks to this thread!
  3. No more then you would expect to have to replace a nut. You can always shape the zero fret to get it right, just like cutting nut slots, then expect to replace it if you go too far (or it gets worn out!). Wouldn't changing the nut (or zero fret) height be a set-it-and-forget-it operation? Even if changing string guage, the height at the first fret should be dependent on the height difference between the zero and first frets, would string thickness matter?
  4. I thought one of the points of having a zero fret is that the string height is already optimal, being the same sized fret material and radius as the rest of the frets. Filing grooves might end up with zero fret being lower than the first fret. If you're going to file grooves into a zero fret on purpose, why not just do away with the whole concept and go for a metal nut instead? I'm no expert and certainly no luthier, that's just what makes sense to me anyway!
  5. The Lunar can be reprogrammed into being any of the Source Audio modulation pedals I believe, so chorus, flanger, phaser or tremolo. Although it can only be one of these at a time, so no having phaser on one preset and chorus on another!
  6. Does it do an actual chorus sound, or is it more a case of a phaser is close enough to do the job? I much prefer phaser to chorus on bass anyway,
  7. Depends. Heavier strings will have more output and let you dig in harder due to their higher tension. But some players like Geddy Lee use really light strings to get that aggressive clanky/buzzy tone with minimal effort which can often work better when using overdrive.
  8. That makes sense, it’s having 15, 25 and 40 options that doesn’t!
  9. They’re not out yet. A bunch of us are in the queue for the pre order though but it’s looking like at least a month away, probably more like three knowing how these things go!
  10. Simple - they’ve advertised it as a Fender neck when it isn’t. That’s the only issue here.
  11. Didn't realise they do a 200 as well. This amp line has to win the award for highest number of assorted wattages! Why they felt the need for 15, 25, 40 and 100 watt versions of the same amp is beyond me, I guess they realised that too as the new digital ones are 40 and 500 only!
  12. He doesn't want £20 for it. He wants to start an auction at £20 and let it run for a week, big difference. Otherwise, yes it's well worth twenty squid!
  13. It's not a Fender neck for starters. There are Chinese Fenders about nowadays like the Modern Player line, but that 'Precision Bass' font is all kinds of wrong.
  14. £600 is extracting the urine for an Epiphone IMHO. I thought it was bad enough to see Squiers creeping above £400! Both these and the CVs are a cut above their usual output though I suppose, and lack of a Gibson equivalent means they are now marketing to those that would have paid north of a grand for the real deal. How much were the previous Classic Pros going for new?
  15. Haven't even started listing basses or pedals yet, today is just amp day!
  16. The renowned tones of the Sansamp VT Bass mated to a 500W power amp. Great little amp for getting that tube drive sound without the back pain or ear splitting volumes! Coimes with original box and also a barely used hard case that is a perfect fit. Mint condition. This was my back up amp, but no longer gigging means I can do without one, plus I have a VT DI pedal anyway which I want to hang onto! I'm in St Neots, Cambridgeshire if you want to audition it, or I also travel into London fairly regularly. https://photos.app.goo.gl/rkoIBZBpeSx1ywHU2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/5LjNfAcpyRqz9evm2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/W1EKVccTVymvyQ6J2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/x7SldCynlGvqN7Iy1
  17. This amp should need no introduction. So good it even made @Al Krow buy one after multiple posts slagging off Darkglass! This was the perfect amp for the rock band I joined last year, the band has now imploded. Nowadays I'm mainly just practicing into headphones and I can just use my B3K pedal to get me close to the sound I had, so this is up for grabs. Great condition except for one little scrape on one of the rear corner as pictured. Comes with the footswitch (all the 900 models do, unlike the new 500 model I believe) however the bag pictured has now been sold separately. Original box is included for safe shipping however and the sale price is now £625 delivered. I'm in St Neots, Cambridgeshire if you fancy giving it a spin, I also travel fairly regularly into central London. Will knock a tenner off of meeting up at a convenient location.
  18. Bought new 5 months ago - used for a couple of rehearsals and one short gig only, so barely broken in! Mint condition as it's been babied and has the padded cover. The band I joined has since folded and I'm not sure when I'll be getting back on the saddle, so for now my Ampeg SVT210AV is a more wife-friendly practice amp cab due to it having less low end! Pickup / meetup is much preferred (I live in St Neots, Cambridgeshire), shipping is a possibility as I still have the original box however. One of these would now set you back £599 + £70 + £30 P&P with a long wait. I'll let it go for £500 (plus shipping costs if needed). https://photos.app.goo.gl/CDBSrMLqlSwfJDzl1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/lrWBFPhcxDyec9Pg1
  19. I know, I tried putting the direct image links in but Basschat only liked half of them, so I've put Google links there now instead!
  20. I bought this from this here forum a few months ago, it has hardly been used by myself and is in immaculate condition. I picked it up as a small amp to use in the house but I just prefer the dirtier more old school sound of my regular rig! It's an amazing amp for it's size (pictured next to my P for a sense of scale!), has the clarity PJB is famed for and can even run off a laptop battery (not included). £280 delivered, or you're welcome to come and try it (near St Neots) and I also travel into central London fairly often. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZtVsiSxomZwfkZUU6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/C1fnRJyC2eo5x4lD2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/lN8OacS2AmvW3flZ2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/30TqY0UcvqJVahyF3
  21. I was thinking of picking up a BDDI to pair with my VTDI for the same reason, but I've pre-ordered the new DP3-X for now instead!
  22. Whilst true, some amps have an active / passive switch that is purely an input pad, they don't all switch between high and low impedance.
  23. Just had a run through each toneprint into headphones. The majority of them either altered the tone, boosted the volume, or over compressed, but I was really happy with the sound I got from the stock preset with the dial at about 8 o'clock. Increased clarity without a harsh treble boost, lightly plucked notes leap out, digging in aggressively doesn't over compress. I couldn't find a setting that was quite as transparent as my Cali Compact, perhaps with a bit of manual tweaking I could get there. But as a tone enhancing compressor it's certainly up there. Best bit is it was virtually silent at most settings, which I was not expecting!
