I have for sale my trusted american dj 19mxr 4/8 channel mixer for sale. Fantastic bit of kit. 4 channel with 2 selectors on all channels. 3 mic inputs, 2 of which have eq and reverb. Built in soundcard. Works great as a manual mixer but has the added advantage of being a fully mappable midi controller as well, so you can use on a whole host of software with the right versions. No longer required so must go.

Hi all, Just wondering if there are any hard cases /flight cases for the likes of mark bass evo and little marks? Ideally with a removeable front and back. Need it to be narrow width to sit on top of my bf sc3. Ie a 19" will be too wide.

Ive listed my dxr12s in the for sale section if anyone is thinking of going that route. The frfr route does give you so much more flexibility, and ideal for any situation from gigging to front of house to home practice to spare pa and main pa. Prob worth mentioning as well for frfr purposes these have a mixer on the back of each cab that takes xlr, jackx2, or phono. They also have frequency level switches that make them ideal for practice and loud gigging. You also have the option to link the cabs via xlr or (a neat trick) go into 1 cab link to the other then make both cabs stereo (so it can be done from one cable input).

These have now SOLD via ebay. Hi all, Im selling my pair of yamaha dxr12 active speakers. Ive listed in the amps and cabs section as i know these are becoming popular as an amp and cab combo using amp modelling software and units. Speakers are in very good condition and come with plastic hardcases on wheels with foam. These are lightweight and compact but pack a hell of a punch (much more than any 10s). They have multiple ins and outs and frequency switches. I have also removed the tabs so you can mount these or mount anything on top using the m10 threads. Finally retiring from djing and have a bass rig im happy with so no longer required. Pick up leyland lancashire. Could post at buyers expense, but must be fully insured.

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help or has any ideas on this? Our band are going to try and cover 'Open Up' by Leftfield featuring John Lydon. Rather than do the bass line on synth/keys i was wondering if its possible using a delay type pedal? If so what settings would work well. Ive got a bit close using a trigger delay on my zoom b3 but its not quite defined enough. Using my b3 i in theory have 3 patches available if needed for all the range of delays and fx on there. Any help appreciated.

Go with your gut instinct. Youll find its never too far wrong.

Players that don't warrant a signature bass
la bam replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
For me a sig bass should be a bass you can see a photo of and go ... "thats such a players'". Whether it be style, shape or colour. And i really cant see how you can have sig models from a different manufacturer. Thats crazy. -
Dont forget modern frfr pa cabs are physically so much better designed. For example the dxr12s are only just wider than 12" which is unbelievable compared to what was available 10-20 years ago. I remember when every speaker had a huge expanse of space between its speaker and edges.

The Beatles consistently produced ground breaking stuff. Check out https://youtu.be/D-lqDjWchaQ This you can tell heavily influenced the chemical brothers. I can hear 2 songs in there - setting sun and let forver be. https://youtu.be/s5FyfQDO5g0 https://youtu.be/p5NX1FC-7-w They used eastern musical instruments to create the desired effect, where now its technology / computers with modern dance acts.

I find this FRFR craze a bit bizarre. It makes perfect sense though! I suggested doing this through my DXR12s about 6 months ago and no one really got it. Made sense to me as most bass goes through PA anyway. I was considering retiring from djing and looking for a way to keep my speakers. Anywho, since then, i bought a barefaced and markbass rig and retired from djing so that idea is no use to me for bass playing now, and the dxrs are surplus to requirements, but i'll list the DXRs on here if its an option for bass players as well as djs, pa etc.

I agree - it takes getting used to, and its a few more buttons than normal to do so, but its worth it. Its important to judge each amp sim separately. What is a great clean gain level on one amp (say 2oclock), will be a distorted drive sound on another. I find its best to have the main volume high to start with, then set the 'gain' to a drive/clean sound that you like, then adjust the 'level' from there to boost that gain sounds level. (ie 'gain' for tone and 'level' for volume). Obviously then eq to taste.

For £40-50 you can get a non branded or Stagg type hardcase. Much more protection.

Id avoid black. In badly lit venues and minimal band lighting you can easily disappear (despite what youd think). We did it in a function band - thought we looked great....then saw photos and videos of us...just looked like 4 heads moving about as we were all in black against a black background. Id be bold and go for decent striking colours.

hi all, I have a zoom b3 and am just contemplating getting an eq pedal (my amp has basic bass/mid/high eq only). I could use the b3 - but i there any difference between digital eq and analogue eq? I wouldnt be looking anything expensive - more like the behring £25 bass equalizer to give me the high mid control if required.

Best and worst bass gear purchases for 2017?
la bam replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
Oh, and my beat find - d'addario EXLs. (I think thats what theyre called). Finally, after 20 years ive found the string and tone i want. When i used to use rotosound swing bass EVERY combination of different basses and amps sounded exactly the same. Now i have real differences available when i switch equipment. -

Best Purchases: Markbass evo1 - all the tones and power i'll ever need. Barefaced sc - game changer. Light, loud, quality. Worst Purchase: EHX bass micro synth. Great sounds but sucked all the volume out of my core tone when used next to my b3, making it unuseable in our set list. -
This is where it gets a bit weird. I know what you mean when you say class d lacks heft etc. When i tried the amp in the shop with a mark bass cab it didnt have it, then when coupled with a barefaced super compact it has it in abundance. Ie its not always the amp that lacks the heft. Youll love the amp though! Be sure to download the software too.

I have one and its absolutely fantastic. Easy to use and the sounds are brilliant. Lightweight, but slightly larger than youd imagine (more like a hi fi separate) but an easy one hand lift. Hands down the best amp ive ever head and ive no need to get gas for anything else as i can try a different amp every time the gas sets in. Ive paired it with a barefaced super compact g3 and the volume keeps up with a loud band easily at less then 50%. Takes a lot of playing with the fully understand how to get the best out of it, but for the money its superb. And the fx are great too!

A Shine telecaster bass copy. HORRENDOUS neck dive to the point of i didnt even keep it as a spare for my spare. Also very shiny and slippery so made the dive even worse.

Id turn the pre shape off and remember to turn the eq button on (eq dials wont work otherwise). Youll know when they are working - massive control. Set bass to 10 oclock. Mids to 1 oclock and High to 11 oclock. Then put the 4 sliders right up (you should get a great growly mid from those). Then adjust to taste.

I watched a band called 'The Hamsters' years ago in Bolton. During their Hendrix set they played All Along the Watchtower, and to this day i can still remember the power of how they played it. Absolutely awesome - real next level stuff.
