  1. Best advice I can offer if you're having to Di and you're using the venues sound guy (or someone front outside the band) is to completely trust the sound guy to the point you almost don't care. The sound guy will know his desk and pa better than anyone, and the room if he works there regularly so he'll get the best sound for the band from where the audience are. To do that give him the absolute best, clean non eqd sound you can. You need 100% trust though. There's nothing worse than worrying about how you sound out front when you're playing, and nothing worse for a sound guy than a band member trying to do his job for him from a position where they can't even hear what it sounds like in the mix. If the sound guy is someone in the band, then same rules apply, but you can have some input into how it sounds, but be prepared to sculpt a new sound. In short, if you really need Diing to PA, your on sound stage will not always/ever equate to a good bass sound at the back of the room. Only my opinion though, other people's experience may be different.
  2. Ashdown RM 210 and RM 115 cabs. Great cabs. Nice sound and lovely and light and compact. Very light cabs. You can carry each in one hand. A few signs of use which ive photographed. There were x2 small tears but they've been glued back. And a few drag marks that look worse on the photos than in real life. Great cabs, nice price - £295 for both. They make a lovely stack that can fit in the boot of a small car. I actually prefer the sound of these cabs to the ABM cabs. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  3. Have you seen these listed on thomann now? There's even a mint and burgundy.
  4. Had a (so called) singer turn up once. He had had 2 months to learn 6 songs. Discussions etc on WhatsApp. He turned up an hour and a half late to the audition. Then proceeded to say he hadn't really bothered to learn the songs in case we didn't think his voice would go with the band. So he didn't bother. He then impromptu asked us to (magically know, learn and immediately play) 6 songs from different artists so he could show us what he could do. We gave it a go - and he was then terrible. Then he left after we'd gone through 3 songs and an hour before we were supposed to finish. Said he was busy and had to get home to watch a TV show. Unbelievably he said to give him a ring and he'd be down for next rehearsal next week and walked out like mick jagger....
  5. I had a bf 210 at one stage. Well, I had two. Some people swear by them, but they just weren't for me. Best advice is buy one second hand, if you don't like it, sell it on for the same price. To be fair any modern 210 should keep up with any band if everything eq wise is set up properly.
  6. Selling my Tourtec ABS bass case. Its this one. RRP is £130. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/tourtech-pro-abs-bass-guitar-case?&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2309_PMT_BAU_Search_Google+Ads_Shopping_Own+Brand&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI97CLv5C8hAMVmamDBx2OYQXdEAQYASABEgJkdvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Its a case, it does its job, it's light, but strong. Great handle, 4 great locks. Its been used, has a few scratches as you'd expect. I've painted small arrows on for this way up notice as shown. The only thing I've noticed is one of the rear hinges had lost its pin (I hadn't noticed, so doesn't affect anything) but I've added a small cable tie just to help. Pick up Leyland Lancashire
  7. Only my version, but in sound terms "hi fi" means crystal clear. I used to equate it to..... My old 'hot chocolate greatest hits' album from the 70s, to my Queen A Kind of Magic CD from the 80s. Probably a bit like comparing a fingerstyle 60s bass line through a svt 810 to a guy playing a load of slap bass. I don't know why....
  8. I'm sure I've seen a rare 810 vba cab for sale somewhere recently too, Facebook, Ebay or somewhere like that. Great Amps! Enjoy.
  9. There's SO much good stuff for sale at the moment. Its a shame we can't all get our stuff to someone like Dood to review before selling. It'd be great to see all the reviews, great for the reviewers social media presence etc and great for potential buyers to see and sellers to sell their gear. Just an idea..
  10. Will do the head at £275.
  11. Cab now sold. Head still available.
  12. Cab now sold. Head still available.
  13. I think I still have the box for the head so could possibly post the head.
  14. Will split. Head £300 Cab £400 Rig £600.
  15. May split if required.
  16. Hi all, Has anyone tried the boss katana 210? How does it feel and fit live in a band at rehearsal etc?
  17. My 2 basses now for gigging in 3 tribute bands and one wedding band.... A Harley Benton MM84a and... Another Harley Benton Mm84a. I love them basses. As for snobbiness..... "why do you play that Harley Benton?" "because it'll only cost £80 to replace when I accidentally drop it on your custom shop Fender tele..."
  18. LANEY Digbeth 500h and 4x10 vertical Dbv410 cab. The best, coolest looking rig out there in my opinion. Its a vertical 4x10 (which loads of people have asked for over the years). This not only makes it look like a proper rig, but get the sound up higher and it's very easy to here. Also ask the tech guys out there, a vertical 4x10 is much better when you get into the science of things. It has side handles for ease of lifting, a top tilt handle for wheeling and 2 very strong wheels which makes moving a genuine doddle. It's a one hand move with the wheels. It also has a kick plate (nice touch) and a switchable horn from on, half and off. Its also a 4 ohm cab. So full power. The 500h head is fantastic. 500w with 3 switchable channels from one input (solid state, valve emulation and a mix of both), a valve drive which is So realistic it even reacts like a valve amp with how much you dig in. 3 band eq with a switchable 4 band mid selector. It also has the fantastic tilt dial which with a swift turn superbly matches your room and eliminates any boom or too much high, but it keeps your eq balance. There's also an aux in for playing along to your favourite tracks! And a headphone socket. The head can be lifted with one finger, the cab wheeled with one hand and it sounds like an old school 8x10 and valve rig. So why am I selling? The good old van has blown its head gasket and now needs a new engine. But, once it gets fixed I realised I can buy another Digbeth rig and everything's back to normal. Its been used a few times and there are some very small scratches, signs of use that you'd only see up close, but it's in excellent condition. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  19. What's everyone's opinions on the late 70s Bb1000? That's the precision type (not the bb1000s).
  20. Let us know how it goes! Enjoy.
  21. Taken from FB.
  22. People need to be snapping these up. That's such a good amp for not much more than a Di pedal.
