  1. Hi, I honestly have no idea, and dont have any scales I'm afraid. It's a Player series so feels like it's not as heavy as a usa model. It's not super light (like a cheapo bass) but just nice. To be honest it balances superb as well too. Hope that helps.
  2. Yeh, I thought that too! ** for clarity for anyone who's interested (as it's a sales thread) it's just 2 separate photos that look like 1 photo **
  3. It's really odd - I didnt like it at all when they first came out, then I saw one and it's just awesome. It shouldnt be, but it is!
  4. Gutted to be selling this, but work/covid/tax have taken their toll so it has to go. In immaculate condition, sounds superb with the maple neck and the looks really are stunning in the flesh. Superb special run, rare colour, all the quality of the Player series. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  5. Agreed. I've definitely gone more punchy and got a more powerful bass sound now I've started to cut the real low end.
  6. This may sound daft or obvious too, but ... the fact the cabs were vertical really made a difference, and I could feel the punch in my chest and back depending on which way i was facing. Thinking about it though, that's because they were at chest level. Theres no point expecting a punch in the chest, when the cabs are at calf level. You'll get a punch in the calf then...
  7. The punchiest (in my definition) cabs I've ever used were markbass traveller 102 cabs (running x2 together vertically). Pretty much the only cab ive had that you could really feel punching you / pushing air.
  8. You need a mij fsr midnight precision. I had one when I was in the queen tribute. It's all there in one bass, everything black and gold. I regret selling it. You can still find them, they're only a few years old.
  9. Honestly, it's a fantastic amp. Not much more you could want - full 12 band eq, 600w of ashdown heft and solid state power, loads of ins and outs, harmonic enhancer and Ashdown reliability AND Ashdown customer service should you ever need it.
  10. Yes, these are from the custom shop and are UK made. Thanks.
  11. I have the same rig. Love it. I add another 2x10 for big gigs, but it isnt necessary. Great weight, great tone, great volume. Enjoy.
  12. Agreed, I find really stretching the calves / hamstrings (touching toes) helps free up the tightness. Most of my pain comes when I'm tight and havent done any stretching or exercise.
  13. I thought there would only be a few truly unique ones (precision, jazz, stingray) and more keep popping up I've thought of another - McCartney violin bass.
  14. Afternoon all, I'm trying to thin the bass collection at the moment, so I have had an idea..... rather than keep a couple of precisions, jazzes etc which i like, I thought I'd try and settle / look for one of each of the main types of bass guitar - the groundbreaking ones. Trouble is I keep changing my mind over what the main innovations are. So far I have thought of: Precision Jazz Stingray (not got one yet) Headless (hohner b2a) What others have I missed? Or what would be in your 'one of each' collection. I'm not talking basses that are slightly different from the above, but really different in their own right, whether it be hardware, sound, looks etc.
  15. I found wearing the bass much lower (cooler) really helped. When I swapped straps back to a normal height the pain came back. Agreed on core strength. That's the best thing. I was told my back was doing all the normal work and all the work of the stomach muscles, hence pain. Building up the core means each set front and back is more likely to do what it's supposed to do instead of over compensating.
  16. Sansamp bass driver. Very difficult to get a bad sound out of it. Simple to use.
  17. Great basses, these. Nice and light, feel great and sound spot on. This is in excellent condition and less than a year (of not gigging) old. I removed the standard white plate and fitted a tort plate for that vintage look. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  18. Ive just moved back to markbass from barefaced. I use the traveller 210s, previously used barefaced 210s, compact and super 12. Just my experience and opinion, but the markbass is much more full and warm, and seems much louder / efficient. I run a sansamp with a mkiii or big bang and it makes both the amp and cab come alive.
