  1. No, if it's a separate iec lead then its both parts, the item and the power lead.
  2. I had the rm212. Just be aware the earlier rm stuff was heavy. The 212 weighed in over 30kg, so a 410, could be even heavier. The newer rm stuff is a lot lighter.
  3. I've had 2 - a cherry 4 and a holoflash 4 - they really are stunning.
  4. I'd say something was wrong to be honest if you are gigging (not practicing) and on its lowest volume it's too loud....
  5. Just for something different.... For dirt cheap second hand a Vintage V4 can be had for around £100 - absolute steal. Put some grounding tape in it, and your good to go! Put a gzr set of pickups in and you've a top level bass for £200. G&L l100's (especially natural) are fantastic value for money. You can get them new for under £400. Spector legends are superb and can be had second hand for £300. I've recently picked up a mint hohner b2a within your budget and it's a superb instrument - passive and active, dual volume, tone and a drop d tuner built in.
  6. Sound guy should be taking your bass signal di'd from your amp (or di pedal) but pre eq. Ie flat, then whatever you do on stage eq wise doesnt affect his sound. Otherwise your amp of choice and any amp colour is completely pointless if hes going to FOH before your amp or pedal.
  7. Just turn the bass guitar volume down?
  8. Ok, so pli and pat .... You DO need them. They're cheap, do it. Also, dont think you cant be proven guilty as your band is a simple set up etc. An insurance guy could trip you up (not literally ) just by getting you to set up a simple tripod speaker stand. Not everyone knows how to set one up safely.... The consequences of not having them when you need them are dire. You can argue against using it if it was someone elses fault - ie someone cant just claim off you because theyve had 25 pints and fell into a speaker. But for when its proven it was your liability you really do need it. And get both. Pli is useless without a pat test certificate. The insurance company will say you're not covered as your equipment was not tested. Likewise pat on it's own is useless, as you dont have insurance. Also helps to provide evidence of and execute good practice - regular checking of equipment and cables etc.
  9. I see loads of jazz / fusion type bands (pro and semi) using: Fender jazz Markbass combo. Always sound great too to be fair.
  10. Well, it's been a crazy end to the year, where once again business has been hit, so I'm selling this beauty of a bass.... a G&L L2000 CLF USA in black plus case and case candy. Stunning looking and stunning feeling bass. So slick, and well finished. Real craftsmanship. Very easy to play, and very responsive. The tones for these are unreal !! Everything from P bass style, J bass style, Stingray and anything inbetween. However it has it's own personality, and its signature tone is like the best 3d sound ever, like a high end slap sound, but achieved by just playing finger style. It has 3 position switches - front pick up, back pick up, both. 2 selector switches for pick ups - parallel and series. 3 position switch for passive, active and active treble boost. And an overall volume, bass and treble control. Also, each pickup pole is adjustable via allen key, so you can literally custom this bass to a mm of its life! The tribute series of this bass are brilliant, then theres the higher end usa versions which are better..... then theres this - the clf. Excellent condition, just a tiny mark on the head that you wouldnt even notice. Pick up only Leyland Lancashire.
  11. Good point - I've amended it to: "Absolute nobody, who nobody has heard of, tries to use and insult bass player who hardly anyone would know to try and progress her own career and interests, rather than letting her music do the talking". There we go - a headline as pointless as the original story
  12. The title of the original article could easily be re titled as: "Absolute nobody, who nobody has heard of, tries to use and insult rich mega star to try and progress her own career and interests, rather than letting her music do the talking".
  13. This isnt a shameless plug, but the best compromise to a big old heavy full valve amp I found was my gk 550 fusion that's now up for sale. Weighs at least half of what the svt ii does, and has 2 channels with 3 valve preamp - so you can have one clean and one dirty, and a whole host of big head characteristics. It does give that valve driven overtone even when clean and its backed up by a monster a/b power section. I've tried every other ampeg svt substitute - svt 7, svp pro and power amp, class d stuff, ashdown ABMs - you're not gonna get that svt ii elsewhere, but the gk is a fantastic option.
  14. So, from one short clip / article ..... heres who I can see who has already benefitted (financially or otherwise), just from this thread (never mind the rest of the world).... The article writer The article website The advertisers on those sites The people who own the website The people who share that link on their website The advertisers on those websites Adam clayton U2 The offended person in the band The offended persons band The offended persons social media The offended persons website The offended persons youtube channel Jordan Peterson Channel 4 news YouTube ..... and it's all manufactured to do that. It isnt a real article. The social media team has got together to put an inflammatory story out there. And it's worked. People click. People then follow up by checking out social media and websites related to the article. The team collect their fee, the people in the article benefit and everyone else is left arguing or annoyed.....
  15. Includes footswitch for channel select and mute, and original box and instructions.
  16. Dont worry. From what's been said on here 100% of any replacements would have the same issue.
  17. Brilliant basses! I have a road worn p in red. I'd love a sunburst one like that.
  18. Gees..... unfortunately most will miss the point of the article. It is to blatantly create clickbait, earn money via links and advertising and promote one or two people, who I genuinely think couldnt give a hoot what the opinions stated in the article are, despite what the article says. They just want to be associated with the link for other purposes. It's a modern day way of getting money and exposure. Unfortunately its usually at the expense of others. It's sad things come to this all the time nowadays.
  19. His attitude pretty much describes the difference between a guitarist and a musician who plays guitar. One listens to what everyone is doing and plays something to fit, aiming to create something as one band of musicians which will sound great. The other is a self obsessed clown, who doesnt listen to anyone else or anything else that's going on - regardless of skill level on their own instrument, they are no use to a 'band'.
