  1. Let us know how you get on.
  2. Yeh, I'm thinking maybe a grand for one. Obviously gonna lose half of that the minute you buy it. But what a great idea from them, I wish them well with it.
  3. Hi all, I don't know why I've never heard of this, but Vintage, who do the fantastic value V4 have a custom shop! Make your own config, colour, hardware, etc etc https://vintageguitarsrus.com/collections/proshop
  4. My Harley benton mm84a. No other bass comes close for complete tonal coverage for me - does every bass going. And my katana 210. Has literally everything I or anyone else needs. Takes some time to work it out, but it's phenomenol when you do.
  5. I'm so so happy with my katana 210 combo. Not just a combo, but everything anyone needs. 3 amps to choose from, every effect, every option for routing, everything, absolutely everything..... Apart from a tuner..... Doh!
  6. I've no idea to be honest. Just feels like an average precision weight. I'd imagine 8-9lbs. It's not as heavy as my Harley benton mm84a if that helps. It balances really nice so it's not an issue.
  7. Full on pa and sound setting day using my z3 today. I absolutely love it. It's rich, punchy, warm and equal volume across all strings. It's an amazing bass. Its my number 1 now. By a long long way.
  8. Thanks, much appreciated.
  9. Treated myself to one of these for the 80s band too!
  10. I haven't understood why people don't buy the combo, then just take the head out if possible?
  11. Hi all, I'm after going wireless again and love the boss gear. Simple, decent price and reliable. However my bass is active. So I'm just wondering what boss wireless systems are fine with active basses. In particular I'd like something like the Wl20 (just 2 Jack's to plug in) but I'm not sure if they're compatible?
  12. I got a boss katana Bluetooth adaptor. Brilliant. Allows me to control the amp from the tablet or phone and store, create and call up any of the hundreds of sounds I've saved via the library.
  13. As per title, what bass related prezzies do you all get?
  14. Very easily just like anyone else. Don't ever fall for the trick of thinking youre irreplaceable. It doesn't necessarily mean the replacement will be as good or that the band will be better (or maybe they will), but replaceable we all are. Quite easily too.
  15. Not active, but the flea jazz I had was the best I'd ever played.
  16. Boss katana 210. 160w class ab and so so so much louder than any amp I've had and I've had loads. 300w valve amps, 4x10 cans, 2x12 cabs, 600w heads, 800w heads.... The katana - I don't even go past 25% volume with it.
  17. Absolutely superb for me. I've set mine pretty much flat for our 80s band and it just fills the room in that full but defined way. Very easy to play. Lots of tonal options. Work passive or active and even if the battery goes flat. My black one looks stunning. I love it.
  18. Looks great!
  19. Never happens. And if it does, it's never as good as you remember. Leave it in the past. A time before being constantly video'd, reviewed and critic'ed, and remember it as a great time.
  20. what I am getting at is do those of you who like playing complex stuff, get joy 'whilst' youre playing it, or after when you've done it? I can play most things competently well, but I'm always concentrating or listening when playing the more detailed stuff, rather than enjoying the moment, yet lovely grooves or simple rhythms when I fully lock in with drums bring a different type of joy, where I'm living in that moment.
  21. Hi all, I was thinking the other day about bass lines, complex ones, simple ones, and lots in styles I'm not naturally coherent with. But that got me thinking... Do you get lots of enjoyment from playing complex lines or do you get more enjoyment from (perceived) simple lines? I play and have played all sorts, and covering all abilities, but I've gotten most enjoyment from lines like 'she sells sanctuary' - locking in and really driving the song - rather than more complex lines. So, for those of you who play the complex stuff - do you really enjoy playing it literally as you are playing it, or like the fact that you have played it once finished?
  22. There's nothing but singers up here. Singers and duos. Very little in the way of bands.
  23. Just the usual as per every year for me.... Don't need anything, shouldn't change anything, but will for no reason at all! There'll be the usual unexpected bills that force a sale, a good month at work where I'll buy another, the random change from lightweight to heavyweight amps and cabs. And back The only think I don't gas for is a 5 string. Anything else is fair game! Joking aside, the only real thing I'd like is a place to play the sax where no one can hear!
  24. Full practice with the Z3 today. Massive sound. Eq on bass centred. Bit of low mid boost on amp. Absolutely gorgeous sound. Rich, thick but you could hear every night. Very easy to play. These are stunning basses.
