  1. Amazing that nearly all other companies have massively increased their prices (hotels, pubs, bars) yet some still expect bands to play for free. If anything bands prices should have gone well up in line with everyone elses increases.
  2. I played my V6 through my super12 last week. Great hefty sound. Makes you wanna turn up.
  3. Theres something not right. Loads of outdoor festivals for Aug and Sep are cancelling around here. Do they know something we dont?
  4. Theres a 20min vid of a laney rep demoing them now on youtube. Doesnt show much of that clean Valvey sound by the looks of it though.
  5. Sorry, yes I meant A/B - couldnt think of the phrase - im getting old
  6. The videos I've seen so far, tend to be saying these are not class d but proper old fashioned solid state transistor amps. It's not clear yet. I heard GK are ready to launch a small compact, but full solid state, versions of their old classics. So maybe this is the new trend?
  7. Is the 500 head a solid state head, not a class D?
  8. Gees, they're decent prices too!
  9. I like Laney - something understated about them. The rigs look cool as! I used to have the Nexus tube (had to sell due to lockdown) and the N410 cab. They also made really lightweight 810s in the past (around 30-40kg). Any ideas on price at the moment?
  10. As others have mentioned: Quilter BB800 - set it at noon. Job done. Any adjustment needed? A little turn. Done. Lift it with one finger. More power than any other small amp I've ever come across. I still have it as one of my favourite all rounds amps ever. Heavier duty - Hartke LH1000 - Nice, simple and power for days. Just remember noon isnt flat. It's something like 2-10-2.
  11. £395 ? All those tube goodness preamp tubes and all those massive 6650s for £395. Scratch that valve itch... go on....!
  12. I'd be climbing the walls with frustration. I hate waiting as it is, but when it's so far out of my control I couldnt wait any longer. Just on a cautious side, regarding getting money back etc, I'd do some research first, as it sounds like a custom or customised build. So the seller can argue they cant resell, and it was made especially for you, and you could end up in a real mess.
  13. The payments go from you, not direct to seller anymore, but direct to ebay, then ebay send them on to the seller. I had an issue this week. Ebay confirmed that they are now the intermediary and my card company said the payment was to 'Ebay' not the seller.
  14. I dont really want to go any lower, so how about £450. SVT tone, power and 3D ness for £450.
  15. Red and orange rig is Uber Cool !
  16. Also, can anyone recommend a matching cab for this? I used my barefaced super 12 (2x12) and it was great, but I'm not sure if this wants/needs/is designed for use with a multiple 10 sealed cab?
  17. So lucky to find this this week! Picked it up and straight down the practice room!! In absolutely lovely condition, recently revalved and comes in custom case too. Sound wise I didnt really know what to expect. It has lots of eq - bass, lo mid, hi mid (pull switch), treble, deep,, and high. It's quite scooped with everything at noon, but roll the bass back and put the treble up and it's a gorgeous sound. It took me a good few hours to find the tone I was after (as usual not much tweaking needed from flat it turns out) and it just began sitting really nice in the mix to the backing tracks. It isnt a SVT. In fact it sounds absolutely nothing like an SVT, for those of you who were wondering. It's more like a solid state amp with a bit of that 3D sound and warmth to it, but much nicer. It quite similar to my big gk 550. After a few hours I whacked the backing track right up and really dug in. THATS when it comes to life. Gorgeous tone there. And the big bonus - it's only 20 something kilos, so much much easier to move than an svt or any of my previous valve amps. Even in it's hard case it's a decent lift. Very happy purchase!
  18. Open to offers, (not trades), thanks. Obviously due to weight its collection only, thanks. Grab a bargain. I'll also include x4 sovtek 6650s as spares. I'm not sure of condition as they came with the amp, but they're there for free if wanted.
  19. It seems bizarre to me. Almost like they're trying to decimate the business.
  20. For anyone wanting to scratch the 300w all valve itch without losing a fortune, I'm selling my svt clone, the 300w bugera bvv3000w for half the price of a used ampeg svt and a third the price of a new one. Very close in every way, sound, style, weight, heft. Worse comes to the worse you could sell it on easily at what you bought it for....
  21. Thanks to stillllllll not being allowed to work, I'm reluctantly selling a lot of kit again.... Up for grabs is my recently acquired and long listed after Bugera BVV3000 SVT clone. It's in decent good condition and sound out of this world. So much like an SVT I think they were stopped from making them. I have taken the amp to the tech who used to look after lots of Ampeg gear and specialised in SVTs and he said its sounds fantastic. He did extend the valve legs/prongs as they were moving slightly when playing affecting the bias causing an issue which he fixed. All is great now. This amp also has the auto biasing feature where theres no need to worry about taking to a tech every valve change. It's quite easy to carry due to the top handles (but it's still a 30kg valve amp) and has very substantial rubber feet so travels well in transport. Glorious sound. Good price (£1000 less than a new svt). And a rare amp. What's not to like. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  22. Being the weakest member is a real good thing imo as long as your attitude is correct. It encourages you to drive, work and strive to be better. To enjoy it more and see the chance you've got. To be enthusiastic and really want it. When it's the opposite end of the scale it's easy to become complacent, irritable and dismissive and potentially throw away a good thing.
