I'm after x2 gold knobs if possible? Thanks.

Hi all, Does anyone know a knob that will fit the emg geezer butler pots? They seem to be 6mm but my existing 6mm ones dont fit?

What is and what should never be is class. Has a great bassline too.

I've dropped it at the tech, but my gut feeling says the speakonnwas the issue and it's probably wiped out the valves. It was just very odd. As if you could hear them losing power. The amp has individual valve leds on the back and theyve all now come on.... We'll see.

I've just installed some geezer emgs today. Simple to do once you've worked he instructions out. (the instructions are for all kinds of basses). The sound is really good. Pretty much awesome. Very punchy and clear. No soldering needed. Even the existing earth wire from your bridge can be left in situ and just clamped to the emg one. Only niggles - no foam for under the pickups, and my existing vol and tone knobs no longer fit. But an easy fix on both points. Realistically itll take around an hour to two hours to do, but it is easy. Highly recommended.

Yeh, I've contacted a tech to have a look. See what he thinks.

I'm selling this big set up. All valve 300w head and cab with a 15 and 12 speaker. In good used condition. However - it isnt working at the moment. I bought this last week and it worked perfectly, it worked perfectly this week and then suddenly is now showing a fault and all leds are on. It does come with x4 spare sovtek 6650 valves the previous owner gave me. If you wanted them. It worked fine with the jack input cab, but seemed to play up when I connected it to my 4ohm barefaced cab. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.

So.... after years of searching I found Bugera BVV3000 infinum all valve 300w bass amp. Came with large 1x15 and 1x12 cab. I've had valve amps before - Laney Nexus tube and Ashdown CTM300 - sold them because of impracticality and they were quite valuable. Anywho, this Bugera was shown working perfect on pick up, and worked perfectly here at home for a few days. Glorious SVT sound. A better sound in my opinion than the other 2 all valve amps - VERY svt. So, I thought I'd try it with my 4ohm barefaced cab. The previous cab only used jacks, so I used the Speakon on this. There was an instant white noise like a detuner radio. It did settle, but was very valve break up like at low volume. I then tried a Speakon to jack lead and no change. I've now brought in the original cab and theres no sound and all the lights on the rear are lit. What a pfaff. Really dont need this. So, unless anyone knows a quick fix itll be up for sale. The previous owner also gave me x4 6650 sovtek valves as spares. It was always connected to a load, and always switched on and off correctly. Gutted, because it sounded awesome.

I love the black and gold, but the purple in your first pic looks amazing!

As an Ashdown fan, and I've had loads - abm2, mag, superfly, lg1000, rm500 and x2 abm600, I'd recommend a Gallien Krueger Fusion 550. Dont get this mixed up with the fusion series or the mb range. The 550 (not 500) is the valve / solid state hybrid. Weighs similar to the abm600 but for me it's much louder, much punchier and much warmer. It also has 2 channels, a big valve preamp and a superb sound, as well as memory for saving your settings. It sound very valve like and has an instantaneous response. Sits in the mix really well and is just right for me.

Thanks. Is that a 1/4 clockwise or anti clockwise?

Thanks. This was set up perfectly though. It seems to have adjusted over a few weeks.

Hi all, I had a bass put together for me around a month ago and it was set up superbly when I got it. Now I've played it for a month, I've noticed the strings are really clangy, theres buzz and it looks like they're touching the fret board whilst fretting lower down the neck. Is this an easy fix? I cant see it being the saddle as it was set up perfectly? Is it the neck? Does it need the truss rod turning? Any help appreciated.

I think gallien krueger are on with that idea as well, combining class a/b into class d size boxes.

Firstly, accept mistakes happen. Its live. You're human. Even people who have been playing for 40 years make mistakes. Secondly, as long as you've put the practice in, and have everything nailed at practice, dont worry if anything goes wrong. Laughing it off helps you get over it quickly - having it play on your mind whilst you're still playing can affect the rest of the set. Thirdly, try and learn how to 'ride out' memory blanks or errors. By this I mean let a note ring out, play nothing, or do a slide back into where you know to come back in. If you give it the confidence face and the illusion that was what you meant to do, you'll fool 99% of the people in there. And most of all enjoy it. Everyone on here has made loads of mistakes and changers. Even brian may messed up the solo on Bohemian rhapsody a few years back. It happens. Enjoy the night!

I also think theres too much contact nowadays with smartphones. Pre 2005, when you just used to meet on a wednesday night or at a gig once or twice a month, everything ran smoothly and you looked forward to it. No distractions, no arguing. Nowadays, with texts, whatsapp, facebook, you cant get away from it and its every day dealings with pointless things that run everyone up the wrong way. Sometimes to breaking point. Hence they leave.

Excellent head in great condition. Has lots of features including: 1. Carry handle. 2. 3 memory pre sets. 3. Selectable eq points. 4. 4 channel eq. 5. Built in spectracomp. 6. Tweeter tone. 7. Valve emulator. 8. Tuner. Pretty much all you'll need in a small lightweight loud package. Bargain at £250. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
