  1. The best DI out there. The Ampeg SCR DI pedal. Superb quality DI. Classic ampeg sounds. Great eq and separate drive section for classic ampeg grind. Also superb in that it can accept input from phones, mp3 players etc when using headphones, so is a fantastic practice tool too! Velcro strip added to the bottom if needed. Never gigged only used for home practice. These are around £215 new, so grab a bargain.
  2. Pro quality DI box from Ashdown, for those classics Ashdown ABM sounds. Beautifully built, built like a tank. Real valve in the pedal giving that lovely valve warmth. Same pre amp as the high end ABMs. Lots of ins and outs. Boxed. Never used. Only for indoor practice. These are £370 new. Grab a bargain.
  3. Fantastic pedal emulating the classic 70s Acoustic 360 bass amp. One used once in the house. Very faithful sound reproduction of the 360 in a tiny package. Much easier to carry than a full 70s head! Pickup Leyland £75 or £80 delivered. Runs on 9v power supply or battery (not included).
  4. Just in case any spector lovers are interested - I've an immaculate black cherry legend 4 up for sale in the for sale ads here.
  5. Theres an old video somewhere on youtube where he details what input he had. But, yes, I suppose it could be slightly embellished. The disappointing thing with sire is now the cheap bass that were meant to be great quality but cheap are now more expensive, and theyve brought out a lesser (but still good instrument) in its place and price point. So the original bass has ended up a mid priced instrument. I would have though the aim was to see marcus playing great quality cheap basses.
  6. To be fair marcus seems really enthusiastic about the bassss and had a hand in the design too. I think hes much more involved than just putting his name to it. He seems genuinely proud of them.
  7. It's a magic tone. Kind of every different sound you'll need, and some extra ones in these basses - and the bonus that they're passive.
  8. Perhaps one of the coolest basses out there! A Burns Bison bass. Great condition, plays fantastic and has a genuine range of sounds from subtle 60s to full of growl. This has had some improvements done to it - a replacement bridge to give more definition to the upper strings, a full set up and earthing and I've had the strap pin moved from the back of the bass (which made the bass hang off you falling forward when playing, and moved to the head of the horn by a pro bass tech which now balances perfect. I have left the previous position clear so if anyone wants to revert back it's easy to see where to put it. Very rare now. Out of production for years and people tend to keep them. Also comes with the extremely rare Hiscox Burns custom case. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  9. It's time to thin the heard and I'll be selling quite a lot of stuff now that I've settled on my rig. Theres some amazing stuff, including this beauty: Spector Legend 4 in Black Cherry. Superb playing bass. Build quality is amazing. Beautifully built and put together. Great active circuitry (tonepump jr) allowing a lovely mix and active bass and treble and selective pickups for extra smoothness or bite. It has the cut out back to perfectly fit your body. Immaculate unused, ungigged condition. These are around £800 new. Collection Leyland Lancashire.
  10. Hi all, Just wondered if anyone has any experience of playing these loud and live? The di sounds great but was just wondering if it replicates the valve feel or solid state thump live, rather than a sterile class d response? Also any comparisons to the mb800s or mb fusions?
  11. Yeh, quite an eye opener that one. Not what youd expect at all. Great documentary though!
  12. I agree. Great when you dont need them and everything runs smoothly. Utterly useless when you need anything from them or try holding them to account for not doing what you paid them for. The insurance is also a disgrace. As is the fact you pay them to do a job, and if they dont do it, then they keep your money anyway! Imagine ANY other job where you can get away with that. Also their t and c s also overwrite those of the individual couriers as you booked with the intermediary, not direct, so it's even worse. I really dont know what they do. Every courier now has their own site and collection and drop off points. Theres no need for them. The only use is a comparison site.
  13. Those totp1990s are really interesting. Really experimental. The ones I've seen have: Cheesy pop, ballads, old 60s songs (I think from twin peaks), indie, rock, heavy metal, novelty records, party music, early dance music and mainstream dance music. I love em!
  14. Sorry, the long term intention was to find out if it would work for on the road gigs where I could just plug the di into the supplied amp for stage monitoring only, with the di going to desk. I wouldnt know what amp would be supplied. I could always take an extra di box to get around it and be safe if needed, it's not a problem.
  15. Ampeg SVT7 PRO head. This is a new rev H revision with the H board so super reliable. Very lightweight. Tube pre amp and class d power section. Also includes headphone jack and aux in for silent practicing. Excellent connectivity options. The classic Ampeg SVT sound in a great package. I've now sold the cab I had with this. So the amp now has to go. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  16. Thanks, I'm going to have to check with my amp. If I'm going to use something along these lines I dont want to find out if not di out to FOH.
  17. Hi all, Just a quick question - otherwise I'll have to get the desk out and test later in the year... If I'm putting a di pedal (with no di out option) into the return socket on my amp to bypass the amps preamp section, does the amps di still work? Or will I get no sound at all? And if it does work will it be just the sound from my pedal, not the amps native preamp sound?
  18. It's entirely in your court. If they're not responding relist it, whilst you wait and try and resolve. If someone buys it in the meantime, then tough for the initial buyer. Cancel the original transaction due to non communication. If the original buyer gets in touch then cancel the second listing. Dont wait a month before you relist again. If someone buys, then cant be bothered replying, then tough. They obviously know they placed a bid and what to expect. Priority for you is getting it sold. Dont put yourself at the mercy of people who will mess you around. It may be genuine. Some people are genuinely slow. Some guy tried going mad at me once because it took him a week to respond! I told him tough and it had since been sold. A days wait is fair enough, but any longer - especially as nearly everyone has ebay on their phone in their pocket - isnt acceptable.
