  1. As a rule, if it helps, any kind of discussion to get you away from the platform your selling on is to be avoided. Dont do it. Keep any discussions via the website you are advertising on. It protects you and your identity and money. Ie if youre on gumtree or ebay dont then start communicating via email. What they have done is removed any protection whatsoever that you had by using the selling platform, and it just becomes a private matter or sale and you'll not be protected if scammed.
  2. Unfortunately what you've done there is give your email address to a spammer/scammer. So be careful of any other tricks theyll try in the future.
  3. Yep, crazy decision that one. Surely having this the same on all amps would be better.
  4. Just makes life so much easier. Get to gig, put cab in place, take lids off amp box, plug one plug into a wall socket, plug one end of the Speakon into the cab. Job done.
  5. My rig for 2021. Ampeg svt7 pro. Ampeg usa 410hlf cab. Korg Pitchblack Tuner. Line 6 G90 wireless unit. In the rear of the case: 6 way rack mount plug sockets. Gallien Kreuger MB800 as spare. Contains everything I need as well as spares for everything. Rack lids have pouches in to hold any cables etc. It quite manageable - around 15kg and one lift in. The cab is quite heavy, but liftable, and has proper good wheels when on the flat.
  6. Great amp in every way. Not ridiculously heavy, but still heavy. It's a great sound, really nice. Very instant response. The genius is that it's two amps in one, a solid state and a valve, so if anything goes wrong, you can switch over without worry. The biggest issue was it's a complete work of art. It's a stunning thing to have and to look at with all those valves glowing etc and as such you will want to protect it, which adds a hard case and more weight. It's not gonna knock your socks off on it's own- I dont think valve amps do - but its lovely in the mix.
  7. I'm selling my Ashdown Tonepocket. Only a few months old. Only used a few times. I bought this as I wanted a portable, battery powered practice aid for when I was away on business, so I wouldnt be tethered to a plug socket etc. It's a superb piece of kit with lots of features: 1. Rechargeable power battery - so no need to worry about replacing batteries. 2. Aux input. 3. Headphone output. 4. Also jack output, so can be used as a preamp or tone shaper. 5. Eq. 6. USB out, so you can record straight to your pc. 7. Tiny (about the size of your palm) and ultra lightweight. 8. X2 charging points, so can be charged off plug wall socket or car 12v system. Includes all accessories (charger, bag, aux cable, instructions and boxes). Only selling as I've got an ampeg scr which I didnt know took batteries. So this is now not required. It's too good just to be sat around. Pick up Leyland or will post. Save £40 or £50 on new prices.
  8. Ampeg scr-di for me. Plenty of things to do with that. Recording, di for live, practice, overdrive pedal, lots of ideas.
  9. The markbass traveller 2x10 is a very good very loud cab.
  10. Yes, the hydrive 4x10 is a great cab. Very loud and punchy and much smaller and lighter than you would think. That's the same set up I had and it was really really good. The hydrive (usually) has wheels on it too.
  11. Yeh the lh1000 will just do it, no messing, no frills. Just plug and play. Proper rock n roll.
  12. Hi all, Selling my Ashdown evo iv 4x10 cab in superb condition. Only once, very powerful and punchy. Has side and top recessed handles for ease of use AND tilt back wheels, as well as slider rails. Comes with padded faux leather cover from Hotcovers - cost around £100 on it's own. Cover has perfect holes for all handles and wheels, and has a front pocket for cables etc and an understrap to stop it rising in transit. Fantastic cab for any set up. Pick up Leyland, Lancashire.
  13. Finally got chance to give the svt7 and 410hlf a blast in a proper setting and it was absolutely glorious. Rich, tasty and best of all it just sat lovely in every song. No harsh eqing, no volume boosts needed. Just knew where to be. Also, surprisingly I used the ultra lo, which I didnt think I would have to, and it really added to the sound. This is the same set up where the svt sounded pretty harsh and sterile using an ashdown cab, but really sounds different with the svt cab. Very happy!
  14. Great amps. I was very impressed with mine. Flat is: (in notches out of 10 - not oclock) Bass 2-3 Mids 10 Treble 0 Engage the limiter and brite.
  15. I've tried to do this for years with not much success. Closest I could get is to wind back the bass, up the mids and treble, and find a good bright amp and a punchy clear cab. And lozz's nail trick works well too.
  16. Still available. Bargains like this dont come up too often. The x8 speakers must be worth twice this on their own.
  17. I still love my Ashdown gear, and have the evo iv rc and 4x10 evo iv 410 cab, but we'll see what suits the new band best.
  18. Nice one Walshy! Yeh, I needed the cash so it was a case of what sold first, my hartke rig or the svt7. Luckily the hartke rig did, although i really was impressed with that. The svt7 is a completely different amp with the SVT cab. Honestly, completely different. I use to use jon Willis dr tonelab svt studio patch and an 8x10 sim which I slightly modified (just eq) and it really did sound great. The only thing I couldnt get right on the helix was the soft pillowy feel of the cab, but it sat in the mix very well. That's always been the problem with Ampeg - no one can accurately describe the sound, so it's impossible to model 100% - it's like a soft pillowy, growly punch, with loads of bottom end. Oh, and loads of top end. Oh, and loads of mids..... and its punchy, but not that punchy. And its rich, but not that rich. Slightly over driven but clean ....
  19. I picked up a lovely 410hlf. My svt7 pro just never impressed my through my Ashdown cab. (Well, it was good, but not Ampeg like). It sounded strong and punchy, but not warm and Ampeg like. So I tried it with a 410hlf - THATS the sound!! I knew it had to be a lot to do with the cab! The amp now sounds warm, punchy and has that slight Ampeg break up. It's not a singular note sound, more a constant link of notes, where theres no space in between notes, but still sounds clear. With the precision it just sounds classic. Well happy!
