  1. Not specifically bass guitar related, but when I was djing I went through a wide range of amps, cabs and speaker arrangements. By far the nicest warmest articulate sound I ever had was a big 18 sub and x2 8" tops. It sounded so nice. Better than any high end 12s or 15+12s etc I had. That was for the full PA for recorded music though. I'd imagine for a single instrument youd be fighting with a single 18 if you wanted a full range sound, or to clearly hear what you were playing. Plus it could cause havoc with controlling the foh sound. Anyway, if you like it, and it feels good to you then keep on using it. Theres no right or wrongs.
  2. The lb100 is a great bass. So well made and put together. Light it isnt, and the neck is quite thick, but it's easy to play. It's a very good sounding and good looking bass at a great price.
  3. Sold elsewhere.
  4. If it can break - it will. Maybe not this week, maybe not next, but it will. It really isnt a hard ship to take a spare just in case. Even a cheapo £50 bass.
  5. When I first saw them a few years ago I thought it was absolutely awful, but maybe its a bit of lockdown madness, but now I love it!
  6. I'd recommend one with wheels on. Even if it's slightly larger. My barefaced super twelve is lightweight (about 18kg) but the wheels are such a welcome bonus.
  7. Very chuffed this week! I've wanted one of these for over a year. They allegedly only did 200 in this colour as a special run then discontinued them. So, when this came up I was very lucky. Took a chance and it arrived in unused immaculate condition, still with the plastic coverings on. The colour is stunning. Not obnoxious green, but not subtle! I have a fender player in sunburst so I knew what to expect, but the maple neck is lovely and bright and the whole bass is fantastically balanced and plays superb.
  8. Will post for £25 I now have a box, so I'm able to post.
  9. Yeh, loosen the screw - that helps free them up a bit. They are rubber (compared to the jazz versions plastic) due to issues on design. Unfortunately that means they're more prone to sticking together, but can be sorted with a bit of time.
  10. Barefaced super 12 cover by roqsolid. Good condition. £10 pick up leyland or bolton.
  11. Excellent pro rack tuner. Superb tuner, very easy to use and see on stage. Lots of different options - scroll, strobe, standard and very effective. I have also drilled a hole in the rack ears so you can connect items to the front of your rack if needed rather than everything being blanked off. Great bargain. Collect Leyland Lancashire
  12. Relisted due to a complete idiot on ebay who messed me about for a week before just not turning up to pick up. Now a ridiculous price of £350. Spector Legend 4 in Black Cherry. Superb playing bass. Build quality is amazing. Beautifully built and put together. Great active circuitry (tonepump jr) allowing a lovely mix and active bass and treble and selective pickups for extra smoothness or bite. It has the cut out back to perfectly fit your body. Immaculate unused, ungigged condition. These are around £800 new. Collection Leyland Lancashire.
  13. Sold elsewhere.
  14. Now sold elsewhere.
  15. Hi all, Does anyone have any idea what model of Lodestone basses had a stingray-esque bridge? Ie where they were made, make and model etc
  16. Open to offers on this. Rare example. Must go as I've now ordered another bass.
  17. Buy once, buy right. Up your budget to £300 and get something like a second hand fender rumble 500 combo. It's as much as you'll ever need, a combo, light and reliable. If you stutter around the £150 to 200 mark you'll either need to upgrade eventually, not like the weight or want to change. The rumble will also hold its value. And is a great gigging combo.
  18. Sorry, cash only. I'd keep it otherwise.
  19. Open to offers. This is a gorgeous looking, great sounding, lovely to play, instrument at a great price. Make an offer if you like.
  20. I was tempted, but if possible go and see an ant in the flesh (the pedal not the insect) they were much bigger than I thought when I saw one, making it a bit pointless. Not much smaller than a small 500w - 800w amp. I just couldnt understand it. I'd rather use a gk mb 800 if size / bulk is an issue.
  21. If you like trace, then I'd say the same as Lozz. Ashdown head (ABM600 or RM500) and either new Ashdown RM cabs or a new ashdown ABM pro neo cab (dont confuse with the old neo cabs).
  22. Open to offers.
