Hi all, an odd question here. I have a line 6 G90 rack wireless system and it's fantastic. I've used it with an ashdown evo iv and both work together well. Now....I've sold the ashdown and bought the same amp but in rackmount version. I've racked everything up, and theres a noticeable white noise at high volume. (not playing the bass, just on its own). This becomes notably worse when boosting the mids. I've taken everything out of the rack and tested. Same problem. The ashdown works phenomenoly well in the rack when using a cable from bass to the amp (not using the g90) - no noise at all. I'm plugging from the unbalanced jack out of the g90 into the input on the ashdown. Has anyone any ideas of how to eliminate this noise? Im a bit worried it will pass into the DI signal? Any help appreciated.

The evo iv is a fantastic head. Really fantastic. It is a different beast to the 1,2 and 3, but has similar traits. Any sound is possible once you get used to it. From funk, to r n b, to rock. I even had mine a bit Ampeg like tonight. Very punchy. Much more so than the others. Easy carry, but good weight. Volume and oomph for days. As with all ashdowns the pre shape is the key. Personally for me pre shape OFF (ironically by pushing IN) works great in the mix. To be honest it's a real steal at its usual rrp. If you can get it cheaper, even better.

I built a few bitsas years ago. I put a pair of Seymour Duncan quarter pounders in, and it just sounded like a mess. Nothing to do with the pick ups, but I hadn't taken any consideration into the pots etc. I'd seriously consider matching them the best you can to the pick ups you choose. It wasnt just a case of 'pick any and itll be great' unfortunately for me.

Great to hear her in the first vid saying she loved hearing the bass when hed turned up, and that's where she gets her pitch from.

I'm sure one of the two speakers in the two10 is very mid biased, with the other more bass centred. So, the only difference I could possibly envisage is a slightly more mid, or more bass sound depending on which of the speakers you have at the top of the stack. In reality though, I doubt anyone could tell.

Brilliant! Glad you are enjoying it!

Yeh, Dave Green the amps designer at Ashdown specifically told me only use the valves supplied.

I saw one of these in pmt last week briefly. First impressions were that it was bigger and thicker than I'd expected.

Wow! That'll be epic with the CTM300!

Ok, line 6 got back to me, and it was an eye opener. MY be of use for other users. The bars on the display for each of the channels 1-14 DO NOT represent signal, but instead represent rf interference. Therefore what you are looking for for the best signal is ideally no bars or the smallest bar. Weird way to do it, and not even described in the manual for this (but it is described in the manual for the xd75 mic) but glad I know now - I was doing the exact opposite!

I love it. It's definitely a great pre amp sound, rather than just a headphone amp. I got the velvet pouch, but no belt clip etc, but I bought a little electricians pouch from b&q and that fits everything in there. Yeh, I'd read an earlier post about the charging, so left it over night.

New Bass Headphone Amp Day. So, I'm selling my RM500 and wanted something to still use for practice. I didnt fancy a mixer to connect all my amps, bass, etc together, and dont like the hassle of plugging in 3 things, cables and power etc. Plus the headphone lead always ties me to the unit anyway. Then I saw this! Loved the concept. Rechargeable battery. Aux input. Headphone socket. EQ. Jack/DI out, usb out for recording and charging, and overall volume control. So, I picked one up and flippin eck it's small! About the same size as the none fingers part of your hand and as deep! Had a quick blast - sounds very good, very solid sound, even through my cheap practice bass. This will be brilliant alongside a phone or mp3 player. Just put them in your pocket, plug headphones in and roam around playing without a care in the world.

Has anyone any ideas on this? Line 6 not responding to question on their forums.
