  1. LANEY Digbeth 500h and 4x10 vertical Dbv410 cab. The best, coolest looking rig out there in my opinion. Its a vertical 4x10 (which loads of people have asked for over the years). This not only makes it look like a proper rig, but get the sound up higher and it's very easy to here. Also ask the tech guys out there, a vertical 4x10 is much better when you get into the science of things. It has side handles for ease of lifting, a top tilt handle for wheeling and 2 very strong wheels which makes moving a genuine doddle. It's a one hand move with the wheels. It also has a kick plate (nice touch) and a switchable horn from on, half and off. Its also a 4 ohm cab. So full power. The 500h head is fantastic. 500w with 3 switchable channels from one input (solid state, valve emulation and a mix of both), a valve drive which is So realistic it even reacts like a valve amp with how much you dig in. 3 band eq with a switchable 4 band mid selector. It also has the fantastic tilt dial which with a swift turn superbly matches your room and eliminates any boom or too much high, but it keeps your eq balance. There's also an aux in for playing along to your favourite tracks! And a headphone socket. The head can be lifted with one finger, the cab wheeled with one hand and it sounds like an old school 8x10 and valve rig. So why am I selling? The good old van has blown its head gasket and now needs a new engine. But, once it gets fixed I realised I can buy another Digbeth rig and everything's back to normal. Its been used a few times and there are some very small scratches, signs of use that you'd only see up close, but it's in excellent condition. Pick up Leyland Lancashire.
  2. What's everyone's opinions on the late 70s Bb1000? That's the precision type (not the bb1000s).
  3. Let us know how it goes! Enjoy.
  4. People need to be snapping these up. That's such a good amp for not much more than a Di pedal.
  5. Seen on various Facebook feeds. Quilter V803. Looks class. Has 3 voicing, good eq and by all accounts, finally an xlr out.. Cant wait to hear it.
  6. I think that's a Chinese made one as well, not a US one
  7. .. and recording and as a Di if it has cab sim too.
  8. They look real nice. Whoa! There's a cheeky cab sim built in too on the right hand side!
  9. Mines definitely not hissy. Do you have a cab with a horn / tweeter etc?
  10. It is a noise gate. But 100% you won't hear a thing when playing live. It kicks in temporarily when you're not playing but does get any louder the louder you turn up.
  11. Having a look around I think it's a mini turnaround the country.
  12. Hi all, I know a lot on here love this guy. Just seen he's playing at Band on the Wall this Friday with an Irish band The Ollam. Tickets cheap at £23. Its a great venue if you've never been, you're right near the stage no matter what. Its a good opportunity to see a revered bassist up close for little money.
  13. They've a few artist videos on YouTube using these. Dougie from McFly too. His video is actually quite good.
  14. Can't get better than that! Great service.
  15. not really, I don't have anywhere near a grand like you, I thought they were supposed to be cheapish at the moment.
  16. We'll, I think that's happened already.... They not cheap. Looking a grand at the moment for a US HH one.
  17. As I'm getting into HH basses more and more, the Fender dimensions have appeared on my radar. I love my Harley benton mm84a, and these seem to have a similar set up. Does anyone have any experience of these?
  18. As long as he plays them live I've no problem with them. Its the signatures that haven't got anything to do with the players that I don't like.
  19. If it helps, there's a pretty simple rule to follow for the vintage brand. The old logo ones are more of a starter bass, and the newer logo ones are quite good. They feel like 2 different companies the quality is that different.
  20. I remember Oasis (in their prime) saying they keep tickets at £20-30 each as they know the kids and people similar to where and how they grew up couldn't afford more. Always had admiration for them for that.
  21. John Paul Jones. Bass n Drums.
  22. I suppose as well, rising costs and lack of custom killing pubs and venues has a large effect on things. I remember round here you could go out 6 nights a week socialising in the 90s and it'd be buzzing any night. People, drinkers, all ages, live music, djs, sports, karaoke, all sorts. Now, nothing. They only open maybe Fri, sat, there's little entertainment if any on and they're all mainly empty.
