Firstly its ridiculously light and small, but well built. Then it really does have a great sound, and more importantly lots of great sounds. The simple dials (that work together) are brilliant on the fly - turn it this way a bit, turn it that way a bit, yep that sounds right! None of that 10 band eq and cut and boost confusion - leave that to the sound guys. QSC are well known for quality and importantly reliability, so hopefully Quilter will continue that. Literally plug in, play, for right in the mix and sound good. Easy. Then it's a one hand lift out back to the car afterwards too!

Wow! Youd definitely fall over dizzy trying to work out were you were on that fret board!

I'm now using my patch split 2 ways to send my 'sound' to the PA via main out and my sound minus a cab sim via send to my cab. That way stage sound doesnt affect PA sound, and my stage sound isnt clouded by a cab sim and a cab. Also guarantees consistency for ever gig.

Cheers, I've sorted it now. You can both record and hear playback at the same time. It's all in the daw. Set preferences to asio helix stomp. Inputs and outputs both channel 1 & 2. Job done!

Hi all, Just wondered if anyone has any idea how to set up the Helix Stomp via USB into PC to show on Reaper (or another DAW)? I can hear my PC through my Helix if i put headphones on in the Helix, but no matter what i try i cant get my bass via the Helix to appear in Reaper for recording? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Trace Elliott ELF vs TC Electronic BAM200 opinions?
la bam replied to Dennis1971's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've had an elf. I too thought it was amazing. It's only for a back up amp, so with the elf being twice as much, I was hoping the bam might be an option. -

Any news on the BAM? How is it holding up? Volume, Sound etc? TC stuff doesnt seemed to be stocked anywhere in shops you can actually test them in. -
Make sure you are using the usb cable you were given too. Not all usb cables carry the same power, despite looking the same.

It did that to mine. What fixed it, if I remember, is uninstalling and reinstalling the HX edit etc on my pc.

Being an owner of the 800 and loving it, the new 802s look great. Looks like quilter have listened to their client base and have amended to suit. Now includes: 4 band boost and cut eq at 100hz, 300hz, 1k, 2k. Send and return. Pre and Post out. Heat sink. I bet this sounds great. And they've kept the same compact size.

In immaculate condition. Due to a full time change in our band set up - preamp straight to PA for everyone - this beloved monster is up for sale. Laney Nexus Tube. 400w of pure valvey goodness. x8 KT88 tubes in the power stage alone and x3 ecc83 and x1 12bh7 preamp tubes = 12 valves overall !! Its pretty much everything you ever need in an amp. Crystal clear valve driven sound, right upto valve crunch. Its has a fantastic array of features which help set it apart from other all valve heads too: Tube Gain and Tube Level - allow you to adjust the amount of tube drive and break up, and volume separately, rather than have to break the sound barrier as in other valve amps. Separate switchable 6 band eq. FX loop. It has red leds for each tube which let you know everything is ok, and working fine, and also blue leds to show a signal. This works perfectly. x2 red leds show when operating but Laney have confirmed this is just those valves pulling slightly more current than the others and is completely normal and fine. I have the email to prove. Separate mids control including 2 lo mids and 2 hi mid switchable frequencies and levels. Separate compressor. Separate sub control. Presence and Deep controls - allowing to shape your style from pillowy to clanky. Footswitch for channels, compression and eq. AND the extra special 3 speakons to match your cab - 8 OHM (rare for a valve amp), 4 OHM and 2 OHM. Allowing you to pretty much use this with any cab or cabs you want!1 IT REALLY IS THE PERFECT MODERN TAKE ON AN ALL VALVE BEAST. .............. and if that wasnt enough........... It also comes with a separate FET amp channel inside for more modern sound. Both of these (FET and VALVE) are switchable and mixable. It also comes with built in SOLID recessed top handles on the top of the amp making it much easier to carry. The amp is in A1 condition - not a mark on it. I purchased it from a pensioner who bought it new, then it never left his house. Ive gigged it 4 times since. Brilliant in every way, and not as heavy or awkward as other valve amps. Comes with box and footswitch. Collection only - Leyland, Lancashire. £595. (not £495 as in title). New these are around £1595. - save £1000 on new ! Photos to follow.

Agreed. It's far from a normal 8x10. I also believe it has some weird settings re frequencies, where it doesnt go anywhere near as low as you think it would. I think it's the cab (restrictions/limits) that really help it sit in a mix beautifully, without over powering everything.

If by lightweight you mean class d or under 10kg, for me, it's a quilter bb800 and add a helix stomp (or something like a vt pedal) if required. Literally any sound you want. With heft and only about 5kg.

There was an Ashdown evo 4 600w on ebay in great condition yesterday. Didnt even sell for £200. It's crazy. Meanwhile bedroom amps and some class d average at best amps go for £350+
-
I really dont think it's any 8x10. I've used ashdown, Marshall's etc all 8x10s and they do nothing at all for me, but the svt 8x10 just does something completely different.
-
Where did you buy it from?
-
I've played through loads of amps and cabs - loads. I do love the svt sound, but what I have found recently is that svt amps dont always sound great when used with different cabs. Yet, every amp I've played through an ampeg 8x10 cab sounds amazing. (well, in honesty, average on their own but amazing in a band mix). I put my helix and quilter through an ampeg 8x10 fridge last night and it was the best sound I've had for ages. So much so I didnt use the svt head. So, is the ampeg magic actually the cab?
-
Gees, that is small if its almost half the size of the boss pedal. I love quilter stuff, cant wait for the review.

All par cans are different, but for yours if it's a ledj party- for green, set the following: ALL dipswitches to OFF. Dipswitch 2 to ON. that way everytime you switch on it should be green.

Really Annoyed.....Your thought's please!!!!
la bam replied to thebigyin's topic in General Discussion
Its the same old story.....those who dont try to book the gigs, are always the ones happy to cancel them at the drop of a hat. Ask him to book the gigs, then he'll realise how difficult it is, and think twice about cancelling. -
Oh yeh, the compressor I always thought was fantastic. Really balanced the string output with loss in sound or tone.
