Withdrawn: Behringer xenyx mixer

Edit. I've sorted it. I used the 'simple pitch'. Simply whack 'mix's to 100% then each increment of the first dial is a fret up or down depending on what you want. Works amazingly well. Cheers.

Does anyone still have a template for the tortoise shell one pictured above? It looks fantastic.

I've also learned quickly to roll the bass back a tad to get the sound tight, then have the mids at the middle, then increase to cut through. What I really have appreciation for though is, you can play any note and it's super responsive. From staccato type runs to full on resonance, it does what you want. It's also the first bass ever that I can tickle the strings and still get a thick loud sound. All my previous basses I've had to dig in just to get a normal sound. I can now see how all these jazz funk players manage to hit so many notes and still sound great!

Which pitch shift patch are you using? I'm struggling to work it out.

I've heard of G&L in the past. I knew of the fender association etc. However, i like many never took much notice. If I was going to spend that amount of money, it would probably be on a fender. As luck has a way of doing things, I managed to pick up a g&l m2000 tribute for a great price. So good that if I didn't like it I could easily sell without much loss. Having had it a week, all I can say is wow! What a bass. The craftsmanship, build quality and design include balance etc is absolutely superb. It just feels lovely to hold and play. The active eq is brilliant. Go from a p bass to jazz to stingray in a second. The sound is true from growly low end to super smooth high end. Everything just fits lovely. Having done a bit of reading too, the bridge us an interesting unit. It also has an Allen screw that if you tighten it it makes it a mass bridge which really improves sustain and tightness of the bass. Ed friedlander has a great video on YouTube about it. In all honesty I'd love it to have an active and passive option (just as emergency back up) but hopefully it'll be possible for some tech to sort that with a push pull switch. I'd also like to design a p bass scratchplate for it, which would look wonderful. In summary though, I honestly don't think I'll ever look at another brand of bass. I've had all sorts over the years including: westones, fender p USA, jazzes, headless, Yamaha bb424s, v4s, and these g&ls are just a big step above them all in design, quality, finish and sound. I've played over a few backing tracks, from sabbath to u2 and disco to jazz, through headphones and it took seconds to find a sound that sat perfect every time. That really is good design. I'd love to try a L100, which will go on my list, but maybe a L2000 too! Great stuff G&L. Much impressed. Here is a stock photo.

Whoa, brilliant! I'll take a look at that asap!

How does this work?! I must have completely washed over that effect? Sounds brilliant. Is it a standard effect on the helix?

Lost by ParcelForce - oh Joy!! HAPPY ENDING
la bam replied to dustandbarley's topic in General Discussion
Good stuff. Does make you think though. This parcel was obviously not lost. It was somewhere in the system. So what would have happened if you accepted their £25 last week, then it turns up? Do they keep it? Sell it? Return it? Post it anyway? It's just not right. -
Its alleviated my worry a bit, as by everyone elses experience they will last at least a month. It makes sense to have a over ride switch to make it passive, so I may look into that.

Thanks. I had it a day and last night at practice it slowly went quieter and quieter until it ran out of juice. So I'm guessing that's how it will work - slow lack of volume. I put x2 new Duracell in and it was like a turbo charged machine. I'm guessing the batteries had been in the bass for months previously. Loving the active part of the bass. Found cutting the bass eq is much more beneficial so far for getting a nice tight sound.

Help save my back.......new amp options help needed
la bam replied to donslow's topic in Amps and Cabs
Whatever you choose MAKE SURE you save your back if its telling you to. I didn't (work not bass related) and my back went, and it was literally 4 years of not being able to properly move, bend or walk for longer than 10 minutes. The irony is is that the damage had been done, but I didn't know, then one day I lifted a light box and BANG the back went. Oh and you become really grumpy if you have a bad back - it just seems to affect all your body. I've gone the following: Quilter 800 - awesome and 2kg. Trace Elf - even smaller and lighter - great. Line 6 helix. Laney nexus cabs - 23kg for a 4x10. 19kg for a 2x10. And now, an active bass, as well as a passive precision v4, giving me all the tone I need. I could take any combination of those to a gig - even just the active bass and elf and 2x10 and be very happy with the tone. And when i get home, I'm still full of life, not bent over in pain. -
Ebay must be rattling everybody with this. I wanted to buy a bass today from a retailer who also have shops. I asked if I could pick up from shop or warehouse as both are literally 500 yards away. I didn't want it posting (or to wait). However, it was obvious that they were very worried Ebay would see this as an attempt to try and meet up (which it wasnt) and said they could get suspended.

Hi all, I've just got an active bass after 25 years of playing passive, and ... well...... wow! Flipping eck, it's amazing! All those sounds at the turn of a dial. Love it! However, just a few daft active questions... 1. My bass G&L m2000 is active only. There is no active passive switch. So how do you switch this off? Is it just unplug the cable to the bass? Is there any way to fit an active / passive switch, or is it pointless. (Just paranoid about it cutting out mid gig). 2. How long does a battery (albeit this takes 2 9v batteries) last for on average? 3. How do you know when your batteries are going? Do the just go and the bass goes dead, or is there an element of obvious signs? Cheers.

Great stuff. Thanks. I've just picked up a g&l m2000 as everyone seems to like g&l. It looks and sounds awesome so far! May well get a l1000 in the near future now as well.

I love this bass. suoer lightweight and comfortable. looks great in a road worn way. the pickups are superb on this. Really vintage. Check out videos on youtube. This has just had a set up and had an upgraded jack fitted, so its good for years to come. Also fully fitted shielding tape in all the cavities and under the scratchplate, so theres no danger of any earth hum etc. These are ridiculous value at full price - around £300 - so at half of that its a steal. Im only selling as i cant get a tortoise shell platefor it (this one is standard off white) for love nor money, so ive bought a different bass - prob sounds daft, but I'm in a tribute so have to have certain basses and colours. Will chuck a strap in as well for good luck. Whilst I remember, the only other thing is I'm going to swap it's current strings for a new set from my newly acquired g&l so there's probably £20 of new strings on it too! Pick up Leyland Lancashire.

Hi all, As above, does anyone have any experience on the g&l lb100 basses? They look great value.
