  1. does this mean if someone has designed a patch/tone for full helix or lt, that you can use on a stomp?
  2. im seriously thinking of one of these. But, just to check - who is regularly gigging one of these? and do you love it? what are you using it with?
  3. The markbass I have doesn't really have that markbass sound. As it's sealed it's more vintage sounding. Just one thing to remember or consider - a lot of 610s are a lot deeper physically than a 410, so it's not just weight that can hinder you if moving it alone.
  4. I have the Markbass 106 which is a 6x10 sealed cab with optional horn (can be turned on or off). Not the ported one with the yellow speakers. It has great tilt back wheels, and easy to move around as it has the carry/push bar on too (helps wheeling). It goes ridiculously loud. Ive only ever put around 50% of 400w into it, both indoor and outdoor gigs. Its probably the perfect height where you can rest your amp on top and any set lists and theyre at a good reading height. Its a 6ohm cab, which if using solid state or class d you kind of get the best of both worlds, with your amp giving a bit more power than it would into an 8ohm cab, but not running flat out at 4ohm. This cab is also only 34kg! Which makes it pretty much lighter than a lot of 4x10s. It feels like nothing to wheel around - due to its height (ie no stooping to push a 4x10) and quality wheels, and is fairly easy to hoik up onto a stage if needed. Just remember stairs are a completely no no really, unless you have help. Only thing i'll say (and im still twiddling with the sound) is that the sound changes dramatically the louder you go. Pretty much from a nice smooth bass rich funk sound to trebely ampeg tones just by increasing the volume. I presume thats the effect of x6 10inch speakers coming into play?
  5. Im in a Queen tribute band. Absolutely love it. Playing some amazing gigs. The beauty is the back catalogue is so big, and music so varied, theres no way i'll get bored playing.
  6. is there really any difference where its made?
  7. my god, ive gone through months and months of trying to avoid this!!! now they knock another £100 off! for my own sanity - someone buy it!
  8. yes, the one i have is the 6ohm 4x10. the ampeg would be 4ohm.
  9. I love that cab! Yet, the way it's going I might sell that in the future (and immediately regret it) along with the rm212t - going in ears - and get a barefaced 410 as an all in one solution if I get some cash in and find a good deal. I'll keep you in mind if it goes up for sale. Cheers.
  10. Cheers all. Think I'll leave it if it's that awkward to move.
  11. As above really - has anyone any experience of the Ampeg 410hlf? It seems to sit inbetween my 2 current cabs, so could replace them. Just wondering on sound firstly, then weight and portability. Any opinions welcome.
  12. A pair of Evox's are brilliant kit for djs etc. Theyre fast becoming the standard in look and sound for mobile and wedding djs. They sound fantastic. Streets ahead of the Alto and cheaper speakers. How theyd work in a band though, ive no idea. Youd be amazed how much quieter some speakers that work well with pre recorded music can drop in volume when you put live music through them.
  13. for me at the moment its 2 queen tracks - now im here and breakthru.
  14. i really dont think that a valve preamp or digital valve pre amp emulator will give you that sparkle. Its the valve power section you want for that. Valve pre amps for me just dial in a bit of grind and eq, but no magic 'oomph' as in a valve power output.
  15. I only have the vt bass deluxe, but it does both very well. Use the character 6- 10 for svt and 10-2 for b15. Then the 'drive' for the tube emulation.
  16. I'm struggling a bit with the right ear off my zs10 set up. It's much looser than the left. Does anyone know where you can buy replacement ear (buds? - sorry I've forgot the name) of different sizes so I can get a good fit?
  17. Have you sussed out which way (in or out) the pre shape is activated? Seem to remember it's not the same as the other buttons? And (daft question) have you switched the eq button on?
  18. I'd read that say if the amp head says 4 ohms then it will run ok on 6 ohms, but you'll severely hamper the life span of the valves?
  19. It's a markbass cl106. Sealed cab. I love it, but it may as well be 4ohm as I'm never going to use any extra cab with it. And at 6ohm I couldn't use with a valve amp that only does 4 or 2 ohm.
  20. Hi all, Just wondering how difficult it is (for a professional) to change a 6ohm cab into a 4ohm cab? It's it a complex job, or just changing a few components? Or is it more has than it's worth? I'm thinking going valve amp and it needs to see 4ohm.
