going to pull the trigger on a vintage style bass, i can get an old Greco P bass(1980) or a recent Mexican 50s p bass, what would be best?

Just purchased a Taurus rig, the sound and tone is excellent, i would really recommend this gear. BL450 head and 2 x 12" cabs. so much headroom with vibrant tone. This gear has really brought my GL L2500 tribute to life, i am starting to really enjoy my gigs, i would suggest that this gear is on a par with more expensive stuff. I purchased the set up from the Bassbarn. I used to use various set ups Ashdown,Eden 210s,Hartke none of these came close, 2 12 combination with this amp sounds massive, i am so glad i took a chance on this gear.Top quality made in Poland.

Re previous - I have a p bass put together with different parts as mentioned , Maple body Rosewood neck cts pots seymour duncan spb2 Amp- Ashdown Syder 330 and David Eden 210 Re string with worn in DR Sunbeams which have improved the tone,previously had Rotosound 66 just couldnt get the tone! The Sound i want is the Tone on Crusaders -Streetlife, Forget me nots or say Alphonso Johnson in the 70s I feel neck is letting me down a bit it feels cheap, most responses i get is to not change the neck I have seen many you tube clips with musos nailing that tone,were am i going wrong guys!! I

i also put rotosound strings,cts pots ,i am running it with the ashdown spyder 330(sounds good with my GL L2500) i think the body is maple what strings and amp combo would be best?

Recently started gigging again,have been playing for 30years. I am using a GL tribute L2500 which has a good variation in tones.As a backup i recently went back to basics and purchased a frankenbass precision bass, not a Fender. I decided i wanted more of of the classic p bass tone.ie Forget me nots and possibly All night long by Lionel richie,you know the sound. I purchased some Seymour duncan Spb2 pickups and fitted them to the.which believe is a reliced maple body and rosewood neck. Plugging in i just cant seem to get that tone,the best i can achieve is that Clash-should i stay or go sound. Can anybody help should i be looking for a better quality neck,it lookes like a reliced cheap copy neck!!

would you say ten inch cabs work better with this type of bass back in the 90s pattatuci and east were using different rigs
