Thanks. I had the banners made up by a place local to me as they had to be a bespoke size. I then cut a T shape from some Aluminium sheet and drilled a hole in it for a bolt through into the nut that is already moulded into the bottom of the RCF cab. The banner Velcro to the T shape and job done. I couldn't find anything ready made out there.

To answer my original question that started this thread - There is now!!! Just finished knocking this up and I'm rather pleased with how it has turned out.

Yep, I don't think it's a good idea TBH - it kind of just dawned on me a bit that the song I was enjoying playing (well rehearsing actually as we haven't gigged it yet) was an MJ one. As per original post we do the Alien Ant Farm version of Smooth Criminal - which is very punky/rocky if you aren't familiar with it - so I don't immediately associate it with MJ. It's good work out for the drummer and I thought the punters would like it - then a 'light bulb moment' of "Hang about this is actually an MJ song" prompted the thread. I know there are people in our wider audience who have been directly impacted by abusers - there's no way I'd want them to be upset. Safe choice is drop the little weirdo, we've got plenty of other stuff to pick after all.

Plenty of people still playing/liking Sex Pistols stuff and no one really knows if Sid killed Nancy or not? It's enough to make me want to start an originals band! 😏

This is partly my concern too - covers bands are there to entertain and opening up a drunken 'debate' amongst the punters mid gig is probably not that entertaining... As the other names above illustrate, it's hard to know where to draw the line if everything you perform goes through the 'moral filter.' Tricky eh?

No, nor a Gary Glitter - though as these cases have been tried and convicted while the perpetrator is still alive, I think that makes them an 'easier' case to blacklist.

I've found a handy little built in bolt hole in the bottom of my RCF pa cabs. I reckon if I can get a couple of T shaped flat metal bars cut, stick them in a fold sewn into a banner, then pop the leg of the T out through a hole I can just bolt my hanging banners under the cabs.. Think this idea might have legs!

The roller banners are convenient, but they only really look any good in bigger areas where you can have them clearly in view ( like in the tent and other pic here.) Even in bigger pubs we rarely have that much space. Still quite fancy the under the PA idea. I reckon if we could put a baton top and bottom that might keep them hanging straight and then just roll them up. Might have a play..😁

Hi Quite fancy some band bannerage, but rarely play venues with enough space to hang a back drop properly. I just had a thought, for pub type gigs, is there anything like a banner you could hang from the bottom of your PA cabs? Vertical hanging things to sort of frame the band and get the name shown without taking up valuable space for drunken punters? Cheers

My band have christened my new Dingwall ' The Purple Dildo' - I preferred 'Purple Vibrator ' but it evidently has to be dildo because it has a D on the headstock. Graphic sex toy pic below....

I think it probably happens to everyone - my guitarist (who's very good) is not immune either. He's asked us to 'hum the riff' recently - we usually make a joke of it and the punters seem to find it endearing- mind you, we aren't exactly playing the O2...

I got one from a mate for my daughters to use. It's very nice, a lot of fun to play actually. I was a bit concerned that the short scale would make for floppy strings, but it's fine. Enjoy!
