  1. Hi all I have a Mk1 Sandberg California active 5 string Jazz/MM. Love it. It has Delanos in it from stock, but I'm thinking about swapping them out for something with a bit more, something, maybe growl....🙄 Hearing that the Sandberg Black Labels are popular- anyone able to compare the two? Cheers
  2. Still here, still all the bass you need (admittedly you might want more, but you only NEED this 😀.) Sensible offers, mulled....
  3. Hi there, it's my black BB1025x that's listed on here. Happy to look at shipping if you are interested? Good luck in your search! 😁
  4. I'm heading up to Northampton and then Hinckley tomorrow from Essex, coming back Friday. Just in case any prospective buyers are en route 😁
  5. Cheers, I also have a 4 string that's going nowhere 😁 !
  6. The kitchen scales say 10lb 4oz. Thanks for asking 😉
  7. Photos (after some random phone tapping 😁)
  8. Hi all Just need to thin the herd a little and so am offering up my awesome Yamaha. We all know these, and they are as good as their rep suggests. Great gigging workhorse basses with lovely P and PJ tones on tap. There are a few very light marks from usual usage but nothing that detracts or is even obvious to the eye. I live in Essex and do travel a bit with work ( London, Canary Wharf, Cambridge, Norwich, Northampton all regular and all points in between) so could deliver. Can box up and post at cost too. Not really after trades. Any questions ask away. Cheers Jason
  9. Our singer uses a Roland Lucina Keytar now, he's a very good keys player and it is SO much better than his previous monster keyboard. The Lucina means he can move and engage and better. We all love it, we play covers ( varied rock and pop, lots of modern stuff) Frankly, I think all the 'uncool keyboards ' attitude is rather outdated. If it sounds good and does the job it works for me 😁. Gave up caring about looking cool many years ago - nothing changed 😉

    Ampeg SCR-Di

I had one and got and nice fat Ampeg sound from it - took a bit of experimenting with the eq though- think I ended up with the 'ultra low' in but the bass on the eq backed off, which seems a bit strange but worked. I also liked it for headphone practice - using the aux in. The Scrambler bit isn't anything special, but added a little bit of something if you didn't mix it in too much. Built like an absolute tank.
  11. Top bloke who also happened to buy my Ampeg DI pedal - bonus!
  12. Can I commend you on your excellent taste Sir? 😁 Mine has the same knobs, just look a bit darker.
  13. Sorry to revert to cowbell, but check this out. 4mins in if you're the impatient type 😉
  14. Well, ok then 😁 Took it to the studio for rehearsal last night, it managed to attract a small crowd from the other rehearsal rooms. Sexy beast !
  15. Bloody hell it's good! 🙂
  16. Thanks for the advise all - my GAS got the better of my and an NG2 is due to arrive any minute now! 😃
  17. Thanks guys, think I'm leaning towards an NG2 ( the Darkglass preamp is swaying me - the eq points look good) - I can experiment then with moving the pick ups easily enough.
  18. Thanks all - I play in a (pretty punchy) rock and pop covers band and currently use my Sandberg California which has a J/MM configuration - the MM can be split so the bass also operates as J/J. It is massively flexible tone wise. I like that flexibility and do use it 🙂 - consequently I'm not wedded to one particular sound, as long as it's tight and has 'authority' - I like to be able to drive my sound harder just by digging in finger style (though I use plenty of pedals too!) That's what I was thinking - hence favouring the Combustion with 2 pick ups. So I can solo the neck, or use both on. Does the third pick up add much really with all three on? I did like the grindy tone of the NG3 that I tried (only Dingwall in the shop) but I also felt that third pick up was a bit redundant in that. Would I like a Stingray sound? It's a great sound but it's not a deal breaker - I suppose if it was 3 pick up version I imagine I'd want Neck/Neck and Bridge/Middle and Bridge as the options -which isn't standard.
  19. I've found Dood's excellent reviews of the 2 pick up versions, anyone have any input on the difference that 3 pick up models make? Cheers
  20. Hi all I'm fancying a Dingwall - it'll be either a Combustion or an NG, just can't justify a Canadian version. So, I understand the different PUP and Pre-amp configurations but I just wondered if anyone has experience of them and can comment on how they differ tonally? My gut feel is a two pick up Combustion is probably for me - but be good to hear any first hand input on the differences/benefits of the different versions. Cheers Jason
  21. Not this week anyway.... 😁
  22. I hope I'm not breaking any rules - but if you decide you do want one my guitarist Matt, is selling one at the moment. It's up on FB marketplace - but I can connect you if required 🙂
