1. https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_mounties.htm?o=1&search=1493067998 I've used the bike chain method, but did have to drill a few out for bigger screws, which was a bit fiddly. Coincidentally spotted the above tonight
2. Just bought Paul's Bass Soul Food pedal - super transaction and industrial packaging skills! Cheers mate!
3. Thanks all for input so far - some great suggestions in here, and thanks for the comments that it's looking good so far. I also play in a classic rock band, whose set list would be well known to many of the 'more experienced ' - this band however is trying hard to stay more current though (even if we aren't) šŸ˜œ
4. Been turning a few gigs down so far as need that full set polished - will let you know!
5. Hi all I'm in 3 bands currently, all in various states of disrepair - newest one is shaping up nicely though, 4 piece one guitarist (very good - and not one of 'those' guitarists), drummer (good and improving all the time), singer (male - very strong) - bassist gets by and hasn't been found out yet... All of us have done the 'lots of gigs' thing and so this is to do one or two pub gigs a month - but do them well. Want to give the punters a good night and get them involved. We are consciously picking quite a bit of current stuff and also trying to avoid the 'classic rock /90's Indy standards' that seems to dominate, though there is a few of these in the list. We sound rocky and give most stuff a bit of go. So, here's the set so far - there's a few old standards in there, so here's the question. What would you add in? Need about another 7 songs really. Please take it as read that I appreciate any input and ideas - so have a big thank you in advance, rather than lots of little notes later 1. Moves Like Jagger ā€“ Maroon 5 2. Counting Stars ā€“ One Republic 3. Boys of Summer ā€“ Ataris 4. Figure It Out ā€“ Royal Blood 5. Castle on the Hill ā€“ Ed Sheeran 6. Human ā€“ Rag ā€˜nā€™ Bone Man 7. Burn it to the ground ā€“ Nickelback 8. The middle (jimmy eat world), 9. Love it when you call (the feeling) 10. Breakout (foo fighters) 11. Second chance (shine down) 12. Adventure of a lifetime (coldplay) 13. Find me (kings of Leon) 14. Local boy in the photograph (stereophonics) 15. Shut up and dance (walk the moon) 16. Take back the city (snow patrol) 17. Best of you (Foo fighters), 18. Place your hands (reef), 19. All the small things (blink 182) 20. Take me out (frans Ferdinand) 21. Wake me up (Avicii) 22. Dakota (Stereophonic) 23. Bubbles Biffy (Clyro)

7. Did the Soul Food go? If not I'll have it šŸ˜€
8. I've got a Mooer Tender Octaver - think it came from China, via Ebay IIRC. I doubt you'll track one down elsewhere unless second hand. I've not had an octave up before so don't quite know how it compares with others. It tracks well, sounds a little artificial in isolation but works well in a band setting and with some flange/chorus/fuzz or whatever - I like that you can control the level of your dry signal and both the octave up and down and find I'm using it more than I thought I might.
9. Hi, we've got the Soundcraft Ui16 and have just started doing this via a simple foot pedal (has to be a non-latching one) - just plug it in to the appropriate orifice - turns all the effects on and off on all channels ( for a less spacey between sound for natter/raffle/parked card announcements...)
10. I use a GK MB Fusion 500, one 112 for practice and 2 for a gig. Plenty of volume in both scenarios- I'd look at your cabs. Loud drums, two guitars, playing rock.
11. First proper gig with my GK MB Fusion 500 last night - oh yes
12. I was looking at something like this a while back - how about looking at folding camping tables as an alternative? https://www.amazon.c...+folding+tables or a couple of these or similar https://www.amazon.co.uk/Collapsible-Multi-Purpose-Dispatched-Exclusively-JMS/dp/B01AY50EDS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1486045239&sr=8-9&keywords=heavy+duty+folding+step
13. I went to see Steps with an ex. I kind of look on anything like that as just being a good day out - better than sitting at home. For the OP, Download can be fun if you go with it. Plenty of stages, so lots of variety. The mud last year was biblical though!I If you really don't fancy it why not see if your Mrs has a metal interested friend to go with, I know loads of girls who go, and it's a friendly crowd. If you think you might have a tendency to be one of those who end up huddled on a fold up chair under a tarp - then probably more fun for all if you bale. That might sound a bit off, don't mean to be! \m/ šŸ˜€
14. I bought two top drawer Bergantino cabs from this equally top drawer chap! No problems - deal away!
15. I've been looking around at this too recently and came across Palmer Pedal Boards - they look pretty good to me, ready fitted velcro and some can change the width between the rails. They come with a neat way to attach power supplies too. Haven't pulled the trigger yet and haven't really seen them mentioned before but I like the look of them http://www.palmer-germany.com/
16. Cheers all - some really useful input here! Have a great Christmas all šŸŒ²šŸ—šŸ»šŸ¾
17. Hi all Am strongly considering going down the downsizing route - two 1x12 seems to be popular and would save me space etc. Not too bothered about weight savings. I've been reading the glowing reviews for the Barefaced, Bergantino, TKS and other boutique (and no doubt lovely offerings) but was intrigued by the also glowing review on here for the Ashdown Evo 112s. So, I just wondered if anyone has used any other contenders in a similar price range to the Ashdowns? I've also found :- EBS Classic Line 112CL Eden EX 112 Peavey Headliner 112 So, I play rock and pop type stuff, usually out of the PA - pubs, some a fair size - but nothing bigger. Two guitars, that are 'appropriate' with their volume. Probably will use a GK MB500 Fusion that I have currently 'on trial.' Please no 'get a Barefaced etc' input - I can see these are good and well rated, just wondering about alternatives that I haven't seen mentioned much Cheers all and Happy Christmas! Jason
18. Thanks all. I've had a look at the Orange and Walkabout - they both look good. No need to feel sheepish Coleya , I'd spotted your ad. If Manchester was closer to the Essex Sunshine Coast (48 hrs of fog) I'd be tempted to try it. As it is I'll give the GK Fusion I've got on the way a go, if it's not up to it I think you've all given me some good options. Thanks all for your input and time! šŸ˜ƒšŸ¤˜šŸ»
19. That sounds interesting, not too worried about clank and hadn't considered Orange if I'm honest. The VT pedal is good but I don't seem to use it, wasn't over keen on a B3k that I had for a while either.
20. Cheers - have just found a good deal on Bax for a GK Fusion MB500 (15% discount code on an already low price so Ā£474 in case anyone is interested), so will give that a go and take advantage of the return option if it doesn't do what I want. I'll get the full 500 watts into my 212 as it's a 4ohm cab so that's a bonus. Yep, obviously the real deal is the 'best' but I'm with Hazy Bass in that good, growly and near enough will be fine YouTube videos are infuriating fun - like searching for the Holy Grail, when deep down you know you won't find it...
21. Hi all I've been gigging for a while with an EBS rig, HD350, neo 212 and 210 (mix and match to taste ) it is a damn fine rig if I do say so myself. Lately though I've been thinking about trying something a little more ' punchy tubey sounding' (can't be arsed with the real thing though) and with that low mid growl that goes well with the rock stuff which I mostly play. I've had a look at a few Youtube demos of various stuff, but they seem to be mostly comprised of highly talented, slappitty tappity types playing solo (good luck to them btw!) and so bear little relation to what I do. Which is banging out the lines finger style with a couple of guitarists churning away either side. I know I'm not alone - there's plenty like me out there. So, real world, pub rock giggers what have you got that delivers the growl? I've got various pedals e.g. VT Bass that'll get me there with my current rig, but ideally I like to get that growly stuff from the amp itself and just use modulation type effects. The GK MB Fusion series looks well regarded and like it'd do the job - but the videos I've seen for this (and other similar contenders) all sound a bit thin, hence the post! Cheers all Jason
22. I got a Yamaha bb1025x for Ā£527 about 3 months ago. Had to wait about 8 weeks for it and I kept thinking they'd up the price as it was about Ā£250 less than everywhere else. They kept in contact re a delay in arrival and maintained the price. Very happy here.
23. Hi - got the below from Sandberg - Techie working from memory, and it works! sure the wiring is different, but the Delano wiring diagrams help to identify the correct wires. Standard wiring of a Delano humbucker is this: Yellow + blank ā€“ ground Green + brown ā€“ split White ā€“ hot If I got that correct in memory, you will have to wire it like this: brown + blank ā€“ ground White + Yellow ā€“ split Green ā€“ hot
