1. Bigwan that looks stunning. I'm going up to see Jon in a few weeks to put down a deposit and begin the process. a 5 string, with John East/ACG circuit and passive Delano pick-ups. I wanted the option of fully passive operation with the passive tone control still available and the john east circuits offer that. I'll begin a build diary once it's all confirmed. looking forward to seeing your finished bass T
2.
It was amazing. I wasn't sure how much I was going to enjoy it as I'd had a long week, I was tired and I find most of Victors' songs (i.e. the ones where he sings) very cheesy. I thought it could go either way. But the band was incredible. Anthony Wellington was great and Victors solo was something else. And I bet that drummer feels like on of the luckiest drummers in the world getting the gig for the SMV tour. Stanley, Marcus and Victor. Can't wait for the album and I hope they come over to the UK, rather than just doing mainland Europe.
Absolutely...well worth the money and effort. The whole band were on it. Shame about the guy who felt it necessary to join in with Vic solo piece ("The Lesson") but I guess he was over come by the phenomenon that is Victor Wooten. Vic mentioned a tuition video he has shot with Anthony Wellington explaining the musical elements from his book, "The Music Lesson". Did anyone catch the name of it?
3. Tony, That really is a beauty...Would you consider A trade a Lakland 55-02 Dlx...And an amount of cash?
4. Whooo...Vics coming to town with his own band. Got to get tickets for that.... And Matthew Garrison too...May try to make the late show on that one too. More inspiration...Can't beat it
5. Cheers Karl....I'll see what I can find
6. Hey Tony, Is the Sei still up for grabs? Tiernan
7. Hey All, Thought it was about time to write an introduction....I've been on the "Bass for sale" part of the site more often than is good for my wallet and I'm getting GAS attacks almost daily... So...errr....a bit about me then - I'm 34 and have been playing the bass for the last 16 or so years and am still completely obsessed to the point of distraction. (So the wife thinks anyway) Bass-wise I play a '74 p-bass as my main, a lakland 55-02 dlx in sunburst and also have a old Hayman 40-40 bass with Barts and a Yam 765A in Marine blue (Strung E - C - Thinking about getting the frets out on this one for some chordy madness) All go through an old Ashdown 800w head and a 4 x 10 Ashdown cab. Practice and for smaller gigs, I use a Fender Bassman amp or my computer. I play with a female singer, Tommy Ludgate, and a function/ party band. I do a other dep gigs, recordings and the like in amongst a bit of teaching...and the inevitable P/T day job to keep thing afloat Loving this site too...a real mine of information and advise....I hope I'll find occasion to offer some myself in return. Cheers, Tiernan
8. Hey Chris, Do you have any pics of the 2x10? T
9. Hey Tony, Beautiful looking bass...Do you have the specs - neck length, string spacing, batteries and the like? Tiernan
10. I've only recently got a p-bass and found the sound from the bass direct into an amp or studio desk is fantastic, the sound just fits right in. Perfect frequencies for engineers to fit into the mix....I just can't put it down Cheers Leo!
11. Great track and production...most of all nice pocket! Very tasty playing
