1. Had the S2 now a few weeks (purchased at the LBGS) and I love the thing, A local, well respected, producer/engineer described the neck as 'playing glass', a good analogy I thought. I believe the mid range frequency sweep is wider on the B2 but has the same cut/flat/boost switch. I would suggest, give Status a ring, and if possible, go visit Dawn, Rob and the guys at the 'factory' in Colchester. They had a B2 at the show which may still be available. If not it's a couple of months wait, well worth the investment IMHO. Go for it.
2. Love my S2........her indoors informs me I don't need a 5er. Try the Statii forum. Don't suppose you're open to trades.........GAS
3. Here's a link to pics taken by Trevor Tweedy (hope he doesn't mind) of some of the action around the Status stand https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153468521841659.1073741855.554441658&type=1&l=792021589c
4. Spent the two days walking round in circles, ogling/trying some finely crafted instruments. Thought I might try a Status Jazz neck for the Jap 63 pbass that sits in its case...................ended up leaving the show this evening with a beautiful S2. Doesn't need saying.............my first BGS was awesome.
5. How about a Markbass Mini Distortion as in;- https://youtu.be/RRhItILjsDc I don't think this 'review' does it justice, but its definitely worth a look, and at £75 ish it's not a bad price either.
6.
who are you taking
The wife, she's insisted on holding on to my wallet.............
7. My gorgeous wife handed me two tickets c/w hotel stay for our first wedding anniversary. I really am a lucky man.
8. No, gain and volume at zero. The noise is coming from the amp, which when I tried it last night, powered up but didn't send anything to the speakers. After consulting the 'manual' and checking the new cables etc............. no second click and nowt to speakers. Looks like a trip back to the not so local musical instrument emporium for a replacement. Bugger.
9. I recently purchased a lightweight Markbass rig consisting of a couple TRV210's and a Little Mark III. Just what the chiropractor ordered. When switching the amp on there is a soft 'click', then, after a few seconds there's a more pronounced, louder 'click'..............is this normal, or a fault waiting to get worse? All are new, although the amp may have been used as a display item in the stores bass room. Max.
10. The bass mine are fitted to is a pb62, acquired in a trade, and tbh the mod isn't very well done. Here's a link/address for Hipshot HB1,2'S, AND 3'S dimensions http://www.hipshotproducts.com/files/all/hbtuners.pdf The tuner plate on the pb62 (HB3 reverse type) are slightly larger/longer that the 70's (HB2) but fit closer together, as in, the gap between them is less when compared it to my geddy which has 70's type tuners on. The hole centres also appears to be the same at approx 1 7/8th. so you shouldn't have a problem as long as the holes are the right size for the ferrels,
11. Hi DooD I have a set of Hipshot HB3's (60's reverse) fited to to Jap pbass and frrom what I remember the holes on the plate are slightly different. A look at the hipshot website may confirm this.
