Thanks Fionn - great minds and all that. I had thought of stripping it back (along with a maybe couple of other Warwick's that could do with a spruce up - this time suggested by another wise old sage from BC..(you know who you are) I did some research and saw comments that the grain is tight on the Pro II's and it was a job and a half to get all the paint/primer out - also a bit of pot luck as to whether or not the natual wood underneath is attractive or not.
... but when it comes to jazz gas it's not just about the sound, is it? It's about that big unweidly slab of history, the weight, the feel, and the classic aesthetic too. In an ideal world I'd have both.
I could list what I'd have in an idea world but I'd get RSA from typing the list out Seriously, Aarrgh - don't say that, I'm trying to talk myself out of Jazz GAS, as I hopefully might be needing the honky sound soon. My first 'proper' bass was a MIM Deluxe Active Fender Jazz - still miss it, but I could say that about most stuff I've moved on . Do prefer the Dolphin though - as a very wise man on this very forum once told me "at least you'll stand out from the usual Fender crowd" And I do like to be a very slightly a little different - some have even described me as "odd".
Just kiddin' I'm no fan of those where the top horn is fused to the neck, what d'ya call 'em? It just seems wrong to me.
Agreed - I think you mean 'singlecuts' - all of them just do not look right - at all - not even slightly... Also Ric's, look horrible / sound horrible, why Mr Hall has such an issue with copies I'll never know -why not design something vaguely attractive and worth hounding and hunting people down for?

As above really - Waldemar also bought a jazz from me - this guy has form! - A pleasure from start to finish, all good here. Enjoy the bass. Would be more than happy to deal with again...
I've just started on the Bass guitar theory course http://www.institute...heory_for_bass/ 12 week course for £16. I have been doing it for 2 weeks, a lot of work but interesting a chunk has gone over my head a bit but I think/hope I get it in the end. The guy running it says give it 30 mins to 1 hour a day if you want to succeed at it and stick at it, like everything else it's practice, practice.... I'm the worlds worse learner but I WILL do it!
I'd be interested to know what the quality of the material is that you receive in this pack and the other similar packs they have..... -
I also bought a set off strings off Jas - hassle free from my end, Jas was more than understanding over a slight delay from me as a foreign eBay joker had put a disputed transaction on my Paypal account. Would happily deal with again.......

Couldn't agree more on the SGC Nanyo suggestion. Superb bass, lightweight and a joy to play. I've even got a metallic pink sparkly one.......... (SGC Nanyo that is )

Ahhhh, I've been wanting a cheap Warwick. I've messaged through Gumtree to see if the seller is happy to ship... -
The headstock decal was in two different fonts where someone has obviously 'customised' it. If you look closely you can see the '®' mark after the final letter 'N', this is probably part of the original deal and maybe the 'E' before it was as well if that helps. Of course, once this wood has seen a bit of UV light the decal imprint will disappear.

Selling this as a "No Name" Jazz Bass Copy. Based on the shape of the headstock Possibly Made in Japan? dating from 1970's or 1980's?, although I cannot prove that. It is certainly a half decent bass, sounds exactly like a Jazz Bass should. A good looking bass overall with a very attractive maple neck and board with black block inlays, brass nut. Comes with the chrome pickup covers as shown in some of the pictures. Has recently been given a thorough health check with a professional inspection set up and re string. Everything works as it should, a couple of the tuning pegs are stiff but they have been recently lubricated so just waiting for that to work through, there is is a little playing wear on the pick guard. Pictures below (hopefully this works): More pictures or information are available on request. Price is £150, preferably collected from Chorley, Lancashire. Any trial or inspection is more than welcome. Please feel free to contact me, check out my feedback and thanks for looking.
