Bought this fairly recently, needing some TLC and after putting into it considerable time and money it's now 95% of the way there, and after a recent Bongo purchase it's time for this one to go. Now £525 shipped - prefer a collection and inspection given that the bass is not "as stock", will of course knock off the courier fee if collected. No Trades. Made In the USA - to all intents and purposes this is a US Stingray. Plays and sounds great. Slab body, neck has been stripped of the paint (if you don't like painted necks this is a good thing), as too has the body - and refinished in a vinyl wrap of black with a subtle glittery sparkle - think Starry Night but with a bit more colour in the sparkle. It's quite subtle and hard to capture in the photographs. It's a decent job, the join is on the the inside edge of the neck as shown in photographs. Headstock too also has the vinyl wrap on the from face. 95% of the way there in the project I say - the remaining 5% is the D string tuner ear being a little loose (still functions) and 3 x tuners screws which are stripped. I've tried my screw extractor tool and can't get it to grab on these - I think I would need a one size down attachment to the sizes I have. Tuners still function and are secure - just that the 3 x screws are odd compared to the others.

Gallien Krueger MB212 Combo - Made In USA - SOLD
bagsieblue posted a topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Gallien Krueger MB212 Combo - Made In USA (not all of them were.....) £375 collected from Lancashire After the first rehearsals back this side of the lockdowns I'm settling on the gear I'm going to be gigging with. Full 500w into the 2 x 12" Speakers. Speakers are Neo so the overall weight is light. The amp in this combo is basically the same as the GK MB500 , which goes for c£300 second hand, and here its contained in a 2 x 12 Combo- The differences between this amp is this combo and that MB500 are that the MB500 has a few whistles and bells such as: - Dual channels and a foot switch - XLR out can go pre or post with a ground lift - line out - effects loop To be clear, none of these are feature on this combo. Finally, the contour in the MB500 is variable (on a pot) whereas it's an on/off switch in this combo. Other than that it is the same amp Decent overall condition - sounds great, full 500w without the need for an extension cab. Tilt back function. -
Haha, so true We always used to put time wasters welcome!!!

If anyone sees a white TKS112 for sale... it's pinched.
bagsieblue replied to warwickhunt's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure it does. I've had similar comments back a handful of times when won things cheaply. Often times they pop us again for sale with no mention of the damage that prevented a previous sale. I was passing comment on there being seemingly easier ways to weasel out of an eBay deal than some far fetched someones already collected it story. . -

Yep - all agreed. Clitheroe is quite nice!! Got a few ex bandmates in that neck of the woods too. For what it's worth, I think I vaguely have had other contact with him over the years. Thinking back many years ....I recall a Noel Redding Fender Jazz / Clitheroe Connection - that I was going to go and view and he cancelled on the day at very short notice. Fairly sure he lurks on here or views without an account / logging in. -

Beat me to it on most of my post while I was typing. Strange backstory on this one though with the story someone else has taken it. When I've won stuff cheap on eBay I've had get out reasons of....oh just found a fault when packing it, I knocked it over when packing...so I'll just refund you. -

The guy in question, fairly local to me, contacts me regularly with offers of exactly 50per cent (always that amount) of the asking price with the comment of "xxx cash collected today". You'll be fine on this warwickhunt, he can't prove you've had it. It's inconvenient but you'll need to wait for it to play out and you'll get a refund. Shortly after its a safe bet the cab will resurface. -
Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Made In Japan Natural - £999 shipped in a hard case in Mainland UK. Thats shipped, insured in a decent case. I'm finding shipping is expensive at the moment, so collection would save a good amount on this.. Took this in part ex a couple of weeks ago against a Spector. Last night a bass that I missed out on a few months ago resurfaced..... Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Made In Japan - 2007/2008. Natural finish. Set up very nicely, plays well with a medium low action (my preference). Good condition for a bass cracking on for 15 year old. 1 mark on the body and 1 on the neck binding (6th fret)are all that I can see that is worthy of a mention. Weight is - 4.46kg or 9lb 13oz. I have the pickup cover to include too. Will ship in either a generic tweed case or Hiscox case.

SGC Nanyo Bass Collection MIJ SB300 series, passive. Cosmetic condition is pretty rough - best to think of this as a project bass. Jack socket is a little temperamental with some leads, I can include a new jack socket, but soldering iron has just packed in so can't wire it in at present. Cosmetically is rough, plenty of pitting, dings and dents. I drop fillled in the underside chips on the neck between the fretboard and the neck as a trial on doing the top side. It's ok but not great. Plays and sounds fine. A good bass for not much cash.

Barefaced Big Baby II 2 c/w Top Hat Stand -SOLD

Barefaced Big Baby II - Black Grille £600 each - collection much preferred or can package for a buyer to organise their own courier, taking on the cost and risk of course. These ones have the top hat mount which is a £50 uplift on the Barefaced Site - Very useful option to have able to put up on a stand, for bass monitoring or sound great used as a PA. Very good condition, all work as they should.

Thanks for taking us on the journey - much appreciated. Looks like Mr Fret Nation may be correct - not that surprising as he had about 10 guesses first so was going to land on the right area at one point. Not a fan of undefeatable limiters myself - struggling to think of a overall benefit for it in a pickup as well really, unless its a sort of side effect of what gives the pickup their voicing. I've for sure found it a pain in the backside on an amp. It's a quandry - pretty sure that there would be times I'd be digging in hard on the B string at times if I had one of these.......
-
Wonderful. Next step to lower the pickups?

New band, poor singer. Advice, please...
bagsieblue replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
I'd give them one more go - just to be sure all around. I've done this in the past - I'd ask that we would record 2 or 3 of the songs and then listen back to them together straightaway. You then get a feeling for if anyone else sees any issues, and any recognition of things that are a bit patchy and need fixing. If there is some acknowledgement that there is work to be done, depending on how much time and effort you want to invest it may be worth persevering. If everybody else thinks everything is fantastic - when it clearly isn't - then walk. -
Ahh, bad news. There is a Bleached Blonde Thumb actually that is/was in the UK with dodgy truss rod too. So, yeah, not unheard of but appears to appear less often on Thumbs than on other Warwick models.
-
Good point!!! - seen many of the truss issue basses - had a few myself. I cant recall any of them being Thumbs, so anecdotally fully agree that this would be much less common on Thumbs.
-
Great - thanks for the effort on this. This just gets more and more interesting.
