  1. Pearl Scam is my favourite!!
  2. I'd give them one more go - just to be sure all around. I've done this in the past - I'd ask that we would record 2 or 3 of the songs and then listen back to them together straightaway. You then get a feeling for if anyone else sees any issues, and any recognition of things that are a bit patchy and need fixing. If there is some acknowledgement that there is work to be done, depending on how much time and effort you want to invest it may be worth persevering. If everybody else thinks everything is fantastic - when it clearly isn't - then walk.
  3. Ahh, bad news. There is a Bleached Blonde Thumb actually that is/was in the UK with dodgy truss rod too. So, yeah, not unheard of but appears to appear less often on Thumbs than on other Warwick models.
  4. Good point!!! - seen many of the truss issue basses - had a few myself. I cant recall any of them being Thumbs, so anecdotally fully agree that this would be much less common on Thumbs.
  5. Great - thanks for the effort on this. This just gets more and more interesting.
  6. Nice! - on this "onboard limiter" - can you replicate this? Play softly, then louder and louder until the limiter kicks in?
  7. Interesting, looking forward to hearing back. If this dealers theory is correct then less chance you need to worry about pickup placement but more about pickup height.
  8. It really is a shambles. I don't think there has been anything official released by Spector/ Fishman. Just the 5s reported on, stringing a 4 as BEAD would be a good test.
  9. Ahh - that guy, - my opinion below....... A Dingwall / Spector / Warwick .....Sales agent in the USA, lets says its not unreasonable to say motive on creating and protecting sales. Respected - no respect from me I'm afraid - quite the opposite for me I'm sorry to say - given their comments that were made, amended and since deleted. There are dissenting voices on their (his) post already online - will screenshot a couple below. I saw comments on this theme beforehand on the thread and sound examples the guy reference above put up and deleted. It smacks of trying to create a story backwards to fit a narrative to me. Once these basses are available freely in the UK - I will purchase online, test thoroughly on the basis that I can return under distance selling regulations. Once that's done I'll report back.
  10. Sold about an hour ago!!
  11. Already been in contact thanks - not for him, needs 4 x completely separate pots, i.e 2 not fixed, mounted on a PCB.
  12. The Fender headstock shape is copyrighted
  13. Bought some Tuners from Mick, as ever a great deal. Top man, would be more than happy to deal with again.
  14. EMG BTS 2-Band on-board EQ. £50 plus £3.50 to post UK. One of the features of the BTS Control is a 2-position dip-switch that controls the slope of the high frequency response. By choosing one of the four combinations the high frequency response can be tailored to your liking - see graph below. Note, this came from a circa 2000 Spector bass - the pickups will need soldering to the pots, the rest of the preamp just needs the plugs pushing back on. Bass and Treble controls are mounted on separate shafts and knobs. Also included are a Master Volume control, output jack, battery buss and clip. All knobs are included. Layout: 2 Band -- 4 Knob: Volume -- Balance -- Treble -- Bass
  15. Sandberg onboard preamp. £60 plus £3.50 to post UK. £110 for a new on on Bass Direct to a decent saving. Four-knob, two-band preamp from a Sandberg TT5: volume (pull up to switch to passive mode) blend with centre detent bass treble, or tone (in passive mode) Actual photo below and then some photos I found online of how to connect up. To wire it up (numbers refer to photo): 1. signal (to output jack) 2. ground 3. 9V battery There are three connections on the circuit board to connect your pickups to: connect your first pickup to top, shield/ground to the middle, second pickup to bottom. In this photo, the grey wire was neck pickup and the black one was the bridge. Soldering to a board on these so you'll need to be fairly comfortable on soldering skills.....
  16. That's an NS2000 - nice bass, shouldn't be a Tonepump Jnr in there - can't see where the comment is that its a Tonepump Jnr is on the ad actually.
  17. That's too high on value. Assuming it's stock then if it has a Tonepump Jnr it won't be an NS2000. The NS2000s came with an EMG preamp or a K Haz. Sounds like this one is one of the newer NT legends.
  18. Well....I didn't know how to tell the difference until googling it just now. Nickel warmer - yellow tint Chrome - brighter, blue tint. On that basis I;ll go for Chrome.....

  21. In fully working condition, 4 in a line but can be reversed as these are the American ones as opposed to the 'Licensed' range tuners.
  22. Set of 4 tuners/ machine heads. Cant remember what these came off but they are decent quality. Used condition, some wear but fully functioning see photos £17.00 plus £3.50 to post mainland UK.
