1. I usually don't like Isolated Bass videos but that is one of the best I've seen. Great rock tone. Very similar indeed to a tone I've recently discovered and currently using. Through various trades part ex's against basses recently I've ended up with 5 amps (!) (.....luckily using one for band pa too) so have been experimenting with Bi Amping - I've got a great rock tone with an EBS Reidmar for the clean signal and an EBS CL450 for the dirty signal - great tone, never been happier with my rig, Genz Shuttle 6 also covers the dirty signal very effectively as well. Sounds great and really fills out my 4 piece band. I do think you need a clean / dirty blend to get a good overdriven rock sound without loosing the bottom end. Will have to make time to watch the Clinic (not usually a fan of 'name' clinics - please tell me it's worth an hour investing in a watch?

4. Still intrigued by the One10. Any comments on how these compare to the Super Compact or Super Midget. Especially given that the One10 is (at new prices) roughly half the price of a Super Compact or Super Midget!
5. Haha - well...... it was a genuine copy and paste: Yes, I was joking , but I did try the battery the other way round (couldn't help myself) https://www.talkbass.com/threads/recall-on-ibanez-basses.248247/ I think it's a poor translation,....... the battery holder has blades (rather than a cap and claw PP3 Connector), so now pretty confident that the battery was put in the wrong way at some point and killed the pre amp. Looks as though Ibanez used this battery box for a while, and depending on the pre amp spec, maybe having a diode or not, the pre amps were fried with a reverse polarity feed. On the lookout for a new pre amp now.
6. Thanks again - Yes, very strange. A little more googling and I've found: May 5, 2006 (Tokyo Japan). Ibanez has announced a full recall of all bass guitars sold between November 1989 and 2006. Due to an error in a schematic diagram, the pickups were wired backwards. This causes the pickups to draw current in a reverse direction, effectively sucking the sound out of an amplifier. There have been numerous complaints of this over the years, but the wiring error was just discovered recently. According to Ibanez lead engineer Tatsua Sugeza you may be affected by the problem if you hear a noticable sucking sound when you play your bass. I'll try and put the battery the 'wrong' way round and see if that does anything....
7. Great - thanks for the link - SR1000, tried to input the details and the following table popped up. I assume the battery has been in the wrong way and fried the PCB?? Copy and paste: IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE 9-volt battery compartment for 2005-06 Soundgear (SR 1000E 4-& 5-string models only), Roadgear (RD900 models only) Gary Willis (GWB105NTF model only) Ibanez Basses. It is possible to install the 9-volt battery backwards which could result in overheating and a possible fire, as well as damage to your bass. The affected model numbers are: GWB105NTF SR1005EWNNTF SR1000EZWNTF SR1000EBGNTF SR1005EZWNTF SR1005EBGNTF SR1000EFMNTF RD900AHNHS SR1005EFMNTF SR1000EPBNTF RD900FMNT SR1005EPBNTF SR1000EWNNTF
8. Thanks for the input - by red wire, do you mean the one I called orange?? From the last pic of the PCB, few wires on the left hand side, lots of wires on the right hand side (as pictured), would this give any clue as to which would be the input and the output??
9. Thanks for reply - I'm useless at this type of thing...so to reply as best I can. If we say the switch has two halves of 3 rows....from the first pic: Left hand side: Top - Empty Middle - White goes to Vol Pot Bottom - Orange - goes to "bottom side" of Preamp (PCB) board with many wires, (right hand side of last pic in Original post above) Right hand side: Top - Empty Middle - Brown - to Jack, can see this in first pic Bottom - Purple - goes to "top side" of Preamp (PCB) board with fewer wires, left hand side of last pic in Original post above) Question on the Preamp (PCB) board, have I got the Preamp Input and Output the correct way around?
10. Some pics:
11. Looking for Tech Help on an annoying issue please. I have an Ibanez bass , passive output is fine, switch to active and no output. Nothing at all, no sound, no hum - nothing. The original switch felt a bit iffy so its been replaced yesterday - still no output in active! Battery is fine and have checked with a voltage tester and power is getting through to the loom. No obvious breakages in the wires. I want to rule out the switch or switch wiring first. Could somebody please advise how a DPDT 2 way toggle switch for passive / active should be wired please. I copied the old wiring on the old switch when putting in the new switch, maybe this was incorrect. After the switch, the loom runs into a EQ PCB Board - The Ibanez EQB-IID 2 Band EQ Once I'm happy the switch is wired up correctly / working as it should my next port of call will be the EQ PCB. Everything 'looks' ok with this, but if it the problem is with this realise I will have to drop in a new pre amp. So, first step please guys - how a DPDT 2 way toggle switch for passive / active should be wired up. I'll pop a picture of the cavity and the switch up soon if that helps.
12. These are great basses - not just for the money but great basses. Bargain price here and top guy to deal with.

15.
The main difference from my point of view? You gain volume and bottom end. That's what you really notice first. As far as losing anything goes, I can't think of one advantage a standard 110 cab would have over a One10. The (admittedly few) 110 cabs I've had experience with ran out of steam fairly quickly as the volume went up. But even at reasonable levels they sounded boxy and didn't have much low-end happening. Which is what you'd expect, really. I've stopped thinking about the One10 as I would a 110 cab. Probably best to hear one - it's notoriously difficult to explain exactly in words what a cab sounds like especially if you take into consideration other parameters such as which bass, which pickups, which amp etc is used, what kind of band you play in, what kind of gigs you do, what your rehearsal room is like, and on and on.
Thank you - much appreciated.
16.
You're thinking that the One10 is going to sound like a 110 cab.
No, that's the point. I'm not, I was asking how exactly would one describe it as (sounding) different to a good 1 10 cab?, what is gained?, what is lost?.
17.
I've not heard an EBS Neo 110, but it may not be particularly useful to compare a One10 with any other 110. The 10CR250 driver in the One10 moves a lot of air, allegedly - 'basically like a good 15" or 2X10" in that respect' - according to the blurb. I wouldn't know about that, but the LOUD sounds very nice and is definitely kept inside this little box somewhere, I can tell you that much.
Thanks - my thinking was it would be useful to describe the difference - given they are both 110 cabs. Maybe it would be easier to say, if we say the EBS NEO 110 is a good 110 cab, what does the BFOne 10 offer over and above a good 110 cab, what does the BFOne 10 loose over a good 110 cab?
18. These do look great indeed and getting rave review. Does anyone have any experience as to how these compare to EBS Neo 110 Cabs? (tempted for a cab overhaul.......)
19. Did a bass deal recently with Alain. As ever, easy, hassle free deal - superb to deal with in every way. Would happily deal with again, and most likely will in the future one way or another! Thanks Alain
20. I was asked about the 'ripple' in the neck. Photograph below - you see how the neck is made from 3 pieces, up towards the body you can feel that is different pieces of wood as well as see that it is. No issue at all on playability.
21. Sold a bass to Pablo in a fantastically easy deal. Contact was made, deal agreed and payment received within a couple of hours. First class contact, communication etc. Would happily deal with again.
22. Back on with the Mini Clear Out so...... Warwick Streamer Standard Made In Germany Upgraded Bartolini Pickup & Artec 2 Band EQ, I bought this last year to use as the spare back up bass when out and about. In all honesty I've barely used it. Recently restrung with some new Ernie Ball Roundwounds with little playing time since. I've also added a Sponge Brillo pad (!) into the control cavity to keep things in place and save from rattling about (as original there was no much in there) Link here to ahpook 4 year old sales thread - Hope that's OK ahpook: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 As the original ad mentions: A very slight 'ripple' in the neck wood - this is on the back of the neck, about half way up. To explain better, you can feel the join in the neck wood when running your fingers along the back of the neck. Not felt when playing and doesnt affect playability. Also, very occasionally the 3 way switch does not quite sit in position when moved quickly and just needs a slight touch to seat it in the position properly, a very minor issue. Plenty of dings and dents on the body and the strap button has been moved. Has certainly seen some action. So, if you are looking for a museum piece this is not it. What it is though is a German Warwick for not much dosh at all. I'm based in Chorley, Lancashire - £275 collected, plus £25 to ship.
