4. I've just spotted this small flaw: towards the top of the picture, a triangle of paint missing. This is the ONLY flaw / ding / dent I can see on the bass.
 5. CIJ, see the red swing tag ticket on the box photograph Crafted In Japan, I believe the wording change was:1996/1997 Changed to CIJ, instead of MIJ Back to MIJ in 2007
 6. Hello BC'ers. Are there and North West Based bands who would like / want to / need to share a gig. My new band The MidNines did our first gig on Friday - we were very well received and would like to hook up with other local bands where possible. We are an original band, currently with 60 mins of material. Links here to our FB page. https://www.facebook.com/TheMidNines/?fref=ts We are easy going, good gear, great songs and keen to get other there as much as we can.
 7. First time out for The MidNines at the Ferret in Preston last night. Superb debut gig - good crowd. Nice little venue The Ferret. Action shot:

 9.
I'd be happy for this to exist and if it did there should be a gigantic sticky that says, "USE A METRONOME". Honestly if I'd known how useful metronome practise was from day one my progress would have been A LOT quicker. There are even free metronome apps for your phone now, you've simply GOT to do it.
Looking back on my 20 years of playing: Completely agree on metronome. Learn to read, ...music and charts - maybe not so much TAB, but the TAB argument / No TAB argument has been done to death many times. The Major's resource on here is fantastic: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/74284-the-majors-bass-boot-camp-session-index-1-36/ And, jam along to favourite tracks - as a beginner I wouldn't worry too much about the actual notes (ie the pitch of the notes) but have fun with the: rhythm timings, note length, phrases, articulation, dynamics
 10.
Any particular trades in mind?
Open to anything really, please PM me.
 11. Picture here of Nut width:
 12. In answer to a question via PM - it may be useful to others: Nut is 44 mm and I'd describe is as a P Bass C Profile.
 13. Farida P Bass FPB-18 - for sale or trade - £175 Shipped. Ideally sale but may trade. Possible trade option would be to swap this for a backup amp - Options are a nice small Class D / TC Electronic BH500 / Little Mark 250 etc Cracking basses for the money these Farida basses. The bass has a lovely finish that looks great with the natural swamp ash body. Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Slim jazz like neck. This is a great quality P bass with a swamp ash body and a lovely playable jazz neck Features of the Farida FPB-18 Bass Guitar

P-bass style guitar
Solid swamp ash body
Maple Neck
Rosewood fingerboard
Chrome Hardware
Dot inlays
P-type pickups
Natural finish
I’m in Chorley, Lancs. Happy to provide more pictures, details etc:
 14. Sold a bass to Tom - came to collect, no fuss, top guy, top player. Had a good little chat -Tom's an all round good guy, would happily deal with again.
 15.
Hi, just wondering what you mean when you say the neck is "too big" to get along with? Cheers Dunc
[s]These are well known for having pretty big tree trunk neck.[/s] A friendly, much more knowledgeable BC'er has informed me that this is variation in the neck specs of USA G&L and that it would be more correct to say that this particular model variant has a large neck. As I've got tiny shrew like hands - its a little too much of struggle to get on with it for a 2 hour rehearsal. Comments here from Great British Bass Lounge on neck size - £900 for that one......: http://greatbritishb...oduct/gl-l1500/
 16. Yes - great resource as mentioned here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/278239-victor-wooten-groove-workshop-dvd-sold-pending-the-usual/ Highly recommended, rather than the 'normal' tuition material.
 17. It's pretty versatile - very Stingray ish in active mode, more aggressive but with less toppy end is how I'd describe it. P Bass tones are possible from Series mode couple with passive, giving a nice warm, thick sound.
 18. Well done Grangur - the single most useful bass resource there is in my opinion. Highly recommended - wouldnt part with my copy. Victor's book "The Music Lesson" is a good read and compliments this DVD perfectly.
 19. NOW TRADED! Up for sale or trade is my Mid 90's American G&L L1500 bass with original G&L hard case. As nice a bass as this is it's really not going to get much use from me - lesson learnt (maybe?) on trading basses 'blind' with no previous experience. The neck is just too big for me to be able to get along with. Nut is 44 mm and I'd describe is as a P Bass C Profile. Very good all round condition, barely a mark on it. Currently wearing flats and set up very well indeed. Electrics are: 1x G&L (USA) MFD Humbucking pickups, G&L Tri-tone control system.
