Up for sale is my Fender Unlined Fretless Jazz Bass. Made In Japan - Serial number I plus 6 digits dates the bass as 1989/1990. Very good overall condition, especially so given that the bass is 25 years old. Also very minimal wear on the fretboard. Comes with two pickguards - the stock 3 ply white/black / white and a more attractive pearloid guard. Note that the holes do not line up exactly - as seen in pics. The bass has been filled for those that do not match the white guard - therefore as it stands the pearloid guard is the best option. I will include the original stock 3 ply white/black / white for completeness. I've taken pics to show this - happy to supply more detail, pics, info etc. I have more pics to send through if required - happy to take pics of anything. Any trial or inspection is welcome. £499 shipped in the UK. Pics Here:

Yes, tons of growl (which to my ears is low mids) on tap with the Vari Mid EQ Pre Amp -
whoa, the SR740 looks lovely. I bet it plays like a dream. Why is the SR500 in the sweet spot? Good preamp? 2 band?
It is lovely - could be persuaded to part with too !!! SR500, much much better than SR300, SR400 for not much more cash. -
If I was after a bass with tonnes of growl, flat radius neck, fairly thin neck, narrow nut, and active... would I go for the SR700?
Yes - I have a pretty rare Japanese SR740, covers this Catalogue page here: Link to Ibanez Catalogue archives: http://www.ibanezrul...alogs/index.htm On the SR range, basically the higher up the number the higher the spec. Some Prestige ranges also have the excellent Vari Mid EQ Pre Amp (my SR740) does - it's a great pre amp. I'd say the SR500 is a sweet spot in terms of value for money through the range. -

SOLD USA Made Musicman SUB Stingray In Blue – Excellent Condition. £450 Shipped. For sale only (no trades please as I'm selling to fund something else.) USA Made Musicman SUB (Stingray's Ugly Brother). The bass is in absolutely excellent condition – the cleanest SUB I've seen by far. I've looked hard and struggled to find a mark on it. Not even an obligatory mark on the tip of the headstock! These USA basses were made alongside Stingrays etc in the USA Ernie Ball factory in San Louis Obispo. Reputedly they stopped making these as they were too good for the money / EB were loosing money on each on they sold. The bass plays very nicely indeed and has all the usual Stingray tones and punch. SThe pretty awful original cardboard / metal effect pickguard has been replaced with a much nicer black plate. Happy to send more pics / details etc as required. Located in Chorley - any trial or inspection is welcome. Pics: Thanks for Looking

......strange thing is that I don't think that is the review I remember either. Niggling feeling that there is another review somewhere, probably in a Bassist Magazine, but that would make 3 reviews....

1995 ....Volume 1, Issue 11 - Andrew Levy. (they don't make the magazines like they used to).
