2. I've had some extended play time on this bass - it's really is a gem. If I was anywhere approaching half decent on fretless I'd have had it. Bargain price for a highly regarded UK bass builder. Mr ead is a great fella to deal with too. GLWTS....

 4.
very nice have you any sound samples? very interested!
I've no sound samples recorded - on Youtube there are some video clips with similar basses that will give some indication. Feel free to PM me - happy to do what I can to give you any further details etc

 6.
I remember those days - you had a magazine with a few pages of bass stuff (usually not so bad, but nothing too exciting) but you got the rest of the magazine with guitar and music stuff in. Now, BGM is no better than those few pages at the back of Guitar & Bass Mag but you don't get the guitar stuff.
Fully agree - the content of the 90's American Mags was Excellent. Not a great deal of specific bass info admittedly, but great sheet music, high profile regular lessons (Kirk Hammett, Dimebag Darrel, Dave Mustaine, John Pettruci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani). Lessons were mainly guitar focussed but tons of transferable stuff in there that is applicable to bass. I've still got all mine and still stumble across some gems in them. BGM is woeful. Shame really, being that Basschat is probably their best access to their single target market they would be well advised to not just listen to the comments on here but to implement them. For me, the single biggest thing that would attract me back to it would be lots of transcriptions and analysis. The Bassist magazines from the 1990's must have approx 25% of the mag given over to sheet music.
 7. Under £200: SGC Nanyo Bass Collection - passive. Something from the Farida range. Squire Mike Dirnt P bass. Under 750 very tricky, tons of choice. Back soon on that one.
 8. Ive had a few SGC Nanyo where the information has rubbed of thd pickups and the plate. Could bea Marina made one, but they often characterised by a 'offset'pot closest to the bridge.
 9.
Hi Martyn, I know you say this is mahogany. is this a dark wood body or a light wood with a dark lacquer finish?
Hi Rich - hope you are well. Its a mahogany body with a dark finish also. To copy and paste from the spec: Features a SR Mahogany body with a Natural Brown Mahogany finish
 10.
Lovely... But just out of interest, what is so "classic" about the period 1990-1991?
Yep - guilty as charged for over exuberance on the sales puff here. ...25 year old = classic, things were better in the olden days, weren't they?? Will amend to something more sensible.

 12. If you dont get sorted with something better Ive got a Yamaha (guitar) practice amp. Less than ideal but Ive used in the past for bass in rehersals when in a pickle!. Gives out just enough poke unless you reherase fairly loudly. ......or I do have a multi fx that would DI into a PA, which is my failsafe for gigs

 17.
Whats the nut width on these?
Nut width is 40mm
 18. Thanks, its not getting much use as I'm back to leaning towards 5ers. As can be seen, its less than pristine so hopefully reflected in the price.
 19. I have a very similar 5 string. Great bass and a ridiculous price.
 20.
Trades?
No thanks - looking for a sale only please.
