1. NOW SOLD This was supposed to be my gigging back up bass - the gigs never happened! So.... A Farida Precision's- £199, all is stock and as it should be. Pickups are plenty powerful. A better P bass for under £200 I don't think you'll find. As I'm not currently in a band and I only really use a P bass in a band context so wanting to move one of these along. £199 - collected from myself, can add a gig bag and pack up to ship for, say, £230 These are superb, underrated basses - I'm pretty confident that you will not find a better bass for the money and certainly won't find a better P bass for this price. Natural Ash P bass, has been under the bed (this is the 'higher spec'). Still in Very Good condition - I've used this but not abused it. Couple of dings here and there - ding on the bottom near the jack socket see picture.
2. Got this as a duplicate Christmas present. Good reference book and a good read. £10 posted in UK. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00EKYK5LG/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1419682851&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165
3.
Lighting, composition, focus could all be improved. I'm sure you'll nail it next time
Noted and amended the OP.
4. Excellent Hector, Thanks for that.
5.
In my opinion (in other words, feel free to ignore!) the two most important and valuable things (in order) you can do for your practising are: 1. Detach your self-worth from your abilities as a musician - almost every problem you might encounter in your life as a practising musician stems from this fact.
Can you elaborate on this please Hector? - I can't grasp the concept (genuine question by the way).
6. Couple of bass book bundles for sale - all contain CD's where appropriate and all in good condition: ...Now put into one thread....
7. I've got a 1994 4 String - Brilliant basses indeed!
8.
Sansamp / behringer bdi21 would do it, just make sure your action is ridiculously low to get the fret clank!
This. Don't forget the low action and to dig in. Used to love this album when it first came out - a few hidden gems on this album there is. Thanks for the reminder.
9. Nice to see some activity in here again. I need to reduce the collection by one bass - potentially could be my Pink Nanyo or my SB320 but I don't know if I can bear to part with them...
10. Interesting to see a lot of Farida's mentioned in this. I've got a couple of Farida P Basses - one Sunburst and one natural. I keep saying I'll move one of them on but hard to decide which one.
11. Interesting, I've had a few emails in the past with the people who man the HP Wilfer Inbox and it appears you've got more sense than ever did. From what I've read before - Warwick did indeed subcontract out the manufacture of these. Firstly to a German company -as you say most of which were bought up by Warwick and destroyed - although some remain. The secondly to a Japanese Manufacturer. I'm not sure how to prove either way but I believe mine is MIJ - I can't find a serial number on mine. Mine does have the pull function on volume knob for passive EQ bypass. Had not come across the information before that the MIJ have passive option and the MIG ones don't. Would be interested to know what versions other owners have.
12. Withdrawn - to good to part with....
13. Rich - Hi, yep - hope all is well at your side. Not sure if you saw the Dolphin on your visit- think it may have been at the rehearsal space, as it's usually my main squeeze? It's in pretty good nick for age (and shape). Would like to see pics of your - unless it's horrendous I'd leave it as it is.
14. Great basses these - real funk machines. Following this thread with interest. Here's mine:
15. Not playing much anymore, can't see myself using this in the foreseeable...need to fund other repairs (aarrgghh) ACG EQ02 Pre Amp - Recently Serviced / Healthchecked By John East. The ribbon cables were a bit tired so have been replaced / renewed. Pic here: £120 posted in the UK.
16. So the truss rod tool would fit into the teeth and adjust the rod?
