5. Christ, that does looks nice....been looking for a nice bass to drop an ACG EQ 02 into, is it good enough for that???
6. Hey Rasta, if you could stretch your budget a little to my SGC Nanyo for a repeat customer then that would fund my planned extra special re fin of your/my Fortress. Vested interest alert.... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228771-l250-for-sale-trade-sgc-nanyo-bass-collection-sb320-stunning-burst/
7.
Got Taranis a couple of weeks ago, was wondering if there people who use this bass.
Not me, but nice bass there....
8.
The bit which stopped me in my tracks was: And if Fender's Custom Shop were a free-standing company it would qualify as the sixth biggest global guitar maker in its own right. Exclusivity ain't what it used to be ...
Wow - really? Maybe 'custom' ain't so custom these days? Best get me up to Moffat for an ACG, either than or a personal audience with H P Wilfer.....
9.
Sounds like he needs to practice more.
This is right - practice - individually. IME and IMO band practice is for gluing it all together not, I repeat NOT, for learning individual parts.
10.

yep - groove, groove, groove..... .... be it Funk, Soul, Rock, Heavy Metal.........groove, groove, groove.
11. Thomas the Tank Engine and NSFW - not a sentence I ever expected to see!!!
12. As mentioned earlier in this thread: Rex Brown. A proper metal / rock bass player - arguably overshadowed by Dimebag who (IMO) is one of the greatest guitarists.
13. Thanks Karl - yep, somebody please buy this and fund my Warwick refinish project....I promise to post some pics when done.
14.
Scratch that it has both it's just a nut II tabs in tact, very rare indeed!
yes - very true - and lovely bass.
15. Very nice bass grayn - you planning a trip near Chorley any time soon?
16.
Am I right in thinking that the ACG preamp is three stacked pots? Of so why not replace one with a pair of normal pots and put the resulting 4 knob into the bass collection? A nordstrand pre improved my sb465 no end.
Yes, that's correct, As this is a lovely Japanese, unmodded and in great condition I'd prefer to keep it stock.
17.
I think they were called Chicks on Speed, and they were sh*te. I recall Frusciante telling the crowd off for not being 'open minded' enough about them. Rest of the gig - James Brown and Chili's was quality though, this was at Man City's stadium around 2003/4 I think.
Dixie Chicks I think it was if memory serves...?? I was there too, seen RHCP many times, remember JF saying it was uncool for the grief they were getting. James Brown was good - remember him feigning tiredness etc - girl singers put a blanket over his shoulders and half escort him off stage, before he shrugs them off and breaks into crazy dancing. Great stagecraft.
18. PRICE IS £250 For Sale - NOW GONE........ Up For Grabs is my SGC Nanyo Bass Collection SB320 in a Stunning Burst Finish. I've got an ACG EQ02 Preamp that I would like to make use of so putting this up to fund a new bass. Bass Collections as you probably know are highly regarded - the SB320 IMO being the pick of the bunch. Great all round condition, just some sight tarnishing on the bridge and knobs - nothing else really to speak off. Quality hardwear, vertsatile sound from the P/J set up and nice and lightweight. £250 to sell. Pictures below of the SB320.
19. Thanks for the input so far guys. The bass has been in the BC family for some time. Bass was originally green, I believe bass was stripped back, was natural for a while and now sports a, let's say, darker wood stain. Previous owner was upfront and honest about the finish, absolutely no issues there. Its good but not excellent. I'd just like to take the opportunity to do something with it. Either back to natural with a slightly tinted varnish or a nice painted finish is not an impossibility.
20. Dave Wilson appears highly recommended but he is 2 hours from me!
