Due to poor timing, poor finances (to cover travel / accommodation) and a line up that I am not super keen on, I am passing on 2 x tickets to the Jools Holland Later recording. Lineup Details are: Joining Jools in the studio are Brooklyn's The National, who return with songs from their acclaimed sixth album, Trouble Will Find Me. Million-selling Connecticut singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer performs numbers from his recent release, Paradise Valley. Cinematic pop trio London Grammar make their first appearance on the show with songs from their top ten debut album If You Wait. Seminal British rock outfit Graham Parker & The Rumour are also in the studio having recently reunited, with music from their first album in 32 years, Three Chords Good. From Rock Island, Illinois, folk-pop songstress Lissie returns to the show with numbers from rock driven second studio album Back To Forever. If John Mayer is with his usual trio then you could be listening to Pino in an intimate setting!! Copy and paste below: http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b03gmfc4 Show starts at 8:30pm, doors open 7:45pm. There is a caveat on the tickets that admission is not guaranteed. Tickets are overbooked to ensure a full audience due to no shows (like me!). Maybe more of a problem on the previous week when Paul McCartney and Artic Monkeys are performing. My advice would be to turn up early to guarantee entry. The tickets were free, but I suppose there is some value to them........So, for an acceptable amount I will pass these onto a BC'er, the BC'er will send me the money and I will then donate this to BC. I will then forward the etickets by email. Think that covers everything - any other questions please ask.
If John Mayer has his usual Trio you'll be treated to Pino in a very comfortable situation, well worth a watch.
Crikey, yep - how did I forget about that. Don't think I can justify the travel / accommodation at ths time though...grrrrr -
Have you had enough therapy yet to air that one Mr B? It's not a sad tale readers, it an f***ing tragedy.
yep - ....(big build up)... not fully recovered, but I'll tell the tale shortly. It's just too soon, just too soon.
John Mayer and Graham Parker might well be worth it (if you like them that is).
yep - not overly familiar with much of their material - I'll have a look around online to see if it the kind of thing that floats my boat. -

I've got tickets for one of the upcoming shows: Line up is: Episode 7/8 With The National, John Mayer, London Grammar, Lissie and Graham Parker & The Rumour. Must admit I'm not overly impressed with the line up so there may be a couple of tickets I'll be moving on. -
Yep - it's a Yamaha Billy Sheehan Attitude 3 Bass - nice, nice bass (like all Yammy gear really) I have a sad tale to tell about one of those basses, I may share it here on BC when I've recovered.......

YOUR ideas for the Recording forum - WHAT'S HAPPENING...
Maybe someone could open the door to folk like me be writing a sticky with some basic information. Maybe they should assume the reader has a combo with a phones/speaker o/put, a laptop and a bass. Where do I go from here?
Same from me.... I'd like to be able to contribute to this as well. I'm limited on the time (and currently money) to get my self in a position to be able to record. I must admit the time factor is my biggest concern. Let's say I had an hour to do something bass related - I would much rather be playing or practicing or learning. I am reluictant to open the door to, what I see as a slippery slope, of faffing with the computer and settings on this, that and t'other. A simple, user friendly guide and setup and colour me interested. -
NOW GONE.... LaBella 760Qm Quarter Round 45/62/85/107 Strings. Only had about 3 to 4 hours playing time. Selling them as they are not really for me. Probably best for a 3 + 1 or a 2 +2 as there is only enough for almost one full wind on the G string of a straight 4 in a line headstock. Happy to measure individual string lengths if that helps. Update - £SOLD: Unfortunately, I'm losing the motivation to play/practice at the moment – after a couple of abandoned projects that have I invested a lot of time, money and effort into and nothing new on the horizon I'm having a mass clear out. I previously traded this bass but bought it back as I missed it. This is going from the collection as, not being the tallest person, I prefer smaller bodied basses. May trade, if it is for something that means I'd sell something else from the collection. CIJ Fender Jazz Bass 75 Reissue. – JB75 Great condition no marks to speak of anywhere on the bass. A lovely 3 Tone sunburst. Rosewood board, block inlays and white bound neck. If I may copy and paste from Dood's recent Precision advert: "If you are not aware, the non-export models are Japan's premium instruments that aren't meant to be out in Europe as they clash with Fender's USA models". The bass has been upgraded with: Nordstrand Jazz pickups - NJ4SE - Humbucking split coil. These are a split coil hum cancelling pickups. http://www.bassdirec...nd_Pickups.html Pre amp - Stacked Vol Vol / Stacked Treble Bass / Tone (push/pull for passive to bypass the active EQ and revert to a standard Jazz control of Volume, Volume, Tone) Hipshot A style bridge. Copper Shielded Cavities. These upgrades have taken an already fantastic bass to a new level - into super Jazz terriotory. I also have the Japanese manual and small swing stamped certificate. Can send more pictures of anything if required. As always, any trial or inspection is welcome.
