New Bass Collection models - Anyone tried them or own one?
bagsieblue replied to molan's topic in Bass Guitars
Are any of these linked to the SGC Nanyo Bass Collection basses? - or am I right in thinking they are just using the 'Bass Collection' 'name'? Nice bass Mikhay77 - what's it like? Any idea if this is linked to the (same factory) as the SGC Nanyo Bass Collections? -
Gone gone gone..... For Sale / Trade as I'm not really making the most of having this bass. Open to trades on anything really - please PM me, the worst I can say is "No Thank You". Spector Euro 5LX in Black Cherry. Manufactured in 2007. Non Adjustable Tone Pump. Note that the Tone Pump is not boost only as commonly believed, see here: http://basschat.co.u...spector%20boost Amazing, high specification, high quality bass guitar. Neck through construction. Note that this bass had been converted into a fretless - with a new fretless board, but was then subsequently refretted. The board is smooth, frets crowned and plays superbly with a lovely, low, fast action There are some marks on the body of the bass from steaming off the original fretboard, please see photographs. They are like a sort of ...err.. Purple Haze (sorry Jimi...) above the neck pickup. I have tried to capture these but they are hard to capture. More than happy to supply more pictures if there is interest. The inlays on the board are the excellent, high quality, vinyl stick on types from Creative Cutz. Please contact me for any other pictures or information. Much prefer to deal in person to ensure both sides are happy. I'm based in Lancashire, as always any trial or inspection more than welcome.
I have dug out an image of me with the bass many moons ago... Its not a lot but its a start. Rob
Did you report it stolen at the time? Just wondering how you would be able to show that it was stolen if not.

My recommendation would be a Farida - new or used. They do a couple of P bass copies and a couple of J copies. The whole range is great value for money.
I have a weird desire to acquire this bass NOT because of it's alleged provenance, just 'cause it looks like a bit of fun to do up. Any thoughts from the experts on the Antorianess and potential of it please? Let me know if you are going to bid so we are not bidding against each other? -
OK. Bagsie. I want you playing ALL of Sunshine of your Love straight off. Enjoy yourself. Others added today: Good King Wencaslas She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain Wedding March - Wagner Cheers Rich
Great - should there be some links for these?
A transcription I did a couple of years ago "Lets Hear It For The Boy" Original was played on Synth Bass, but still a nice read for Bass Guitar. Yes, it is a good thread. Can I nudge you to put some more links up please. It's good to be surprised by a piece of music and to try and sight read it first off without knowing what's coming. -
Bass Collection 5 string - be quick
The 'problem' with them is the name, people think it's cheap and nasty.
yep - that and the (shape of the) headstock, I've had a few of these and nearly had one many moons ago as my first proper bass. Ended up going for a MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe in the shop basically because it said Fender on the headstock - in the days before I knew about MIM, MIA, MIJ etc etc. The SGC Nanyo was the better bass but I was swayed by what my mates would have thought.....how things have changed!!!
