    My recommendation would be a Farida - new or used. They do a couple of P bass copies and a couple of J copies. The whole range is great value for money.

    NOW GONE For Sale: Warwick Neck Fretted 4 String from a 2004 $$ Corvette. Note the truss rod nut is rounded. May be salvageable by someone who has some luthier skills, otherwise makes a nice bass related ornament...

[/quote] yep - that and the (shape of the) headstock, I've had a few of these and nearly had one many moons ago as my first proper bass. Ended up going for a MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe in the shop basically because it said Fender on the headstock - in the days before I knew about MIM, MIA, MIJ etc etc. The SGC Nanyo was the better bass but I was swayed by what my mates would have thought.....how things have changed!!!

    GONE GONE GONE As a wise man once said on this forum - “I need less basses”. The other basses I have put up have not sold as yet so before I have to resort to Ebay and Gumtree with them I am putting this up on here. I have my P Bass needs covered with this and a Yamaha Attitude Plus. If this doesn’t go then the Attitude Plus is next. This bass really is as good as new. Still had the D'Addario swing tag on the headstock, protective film still on the pickguard and Pups. Very. very little playing time on this. There may be a tiny mark or two on the bass but I've looked really hard and cannot find anything. Farida basses really are great value for money. The bass has a lovely satin finish that looks great with the natural swamp ash body. Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
