Ouch....nicest P bass I've ever seen and just the sort of sound I'm after for a new band. Trade for a MM Sterling in Onyx Black, limited edition?
Wow, that's one of a number of interesting offers I've had, also two (!) lovely Warwick's gone up on here today as well...... I'm getting the feeling that once one deal is completed on here it will set off a chain reaction for a few basses to move.....

Help With Symetrical Diminshed Scale
bagsieblue replied to bagsieblue's topic in Theory and Technique
Thanks Bilbo - just the person I hoped would be along. What are the correct names for these scales (so I can cement them in my mind)? Half Step / Whole Step .....repeat etc C Db Eb........... Whole Step / Half Step .....repeat etc C D Eb -
Looking for help please on the Symetrical Diminshed Scale. What is the difference between the half step / whole step and the whole step / half step. For example, in C, are the first two notes of the scale. C > Db or C > D What are the difference in used for these? - when would would think to use them. Information I have learnt so far is that C Dim as a half step / whole step would be cool to use over a C7 chord. Anybody any diagrams to show fingerings on the bass as well please for me to use in study?

Mart and I have exchanged some PM's on this as we both took the plunge on the beautiful Warwick Star Bass. I swore I would never buy a new bass again but at the price they were at it was too good to refuse for a Warwick lover like me. Although I love the bass I was disappointed with the packaging and the extra's / 'candy' supplied with the bass. Bear in mind that this was being knocked out at a normal street price of c£1500. The bass comes in a triangular cardboard box, a small amount of polystryrene and then in a plastic bag type thing. I think it is nice for a prodcut to be 'presented' in its packing on unboxing. Also, the bass also comes with a cut down version of the Warwick User Pack, a little pouch rather than the A4 wallet type thing - although I assume this is standard on the MIK Pro Series. Put it this way, I also recently picked up one of the £47.00 Westfield Pink P Basses to have as my back up when gigging. This was packed / presented better than the Warwick! There are two areas we are talking about here. 1 - Should a bass costing xxxx pound also come with a gig bag or hard case? 2- Is the packaging sufficent - although my Star Bass came with no issues from inadequate packaging I would be amazed that others have not been easily damaged - especially for a hollow body guitar. Oh, did I say it's a fantastic bass?? - I've been looking for a Warwick with more thump - looks like I've found it.

I've done a search on this but would like to be pointed towards other good information online. Recently I've been getting a lot of tingling and numbness in both of my hands / wrists. Most likely due to poor technique, the basics being to keep the wrists straight - but I must say I am finding that easier said than done. Also, I am using a computer all day at work which I also think doesn't help my fingers and wrists to 'rest', although I do have the gel rests and now use the mouse left handed rather than right handed. I urgently need to improve both my right hand and left hand technique, the right being the most urgent. It looks like I need to break the habit of anchoring my thumb on the pickups and moving to floating thumb techniques - any recommendations on how to make this change please? Would I be better practicing standing up to put my hands in a more natural position?

yep - as Mart said, very surprised on the packaging front. I also believe Euro Spectors come in just a cardboard box.

Extra special new arrival! Recommendations?

Using S.M.A.R.T Goals in Musical Practice
bagsieblue replied to Simon Lovelock's topic in General Discussion
To me SMART is a technique of setting goals and giving a structure towards meeting them. This can be business based, educational, bass related and personal, anything really I suppose. -
Because it has no business component in it for me. I make no money from it, and do it as a hobby.
I'd prefer to think of it more as a framework for improving what you do and also to be able to record and measure progress. Good thread by the way - am looking forward to developing my learning/plan of work etc with input from this. -
