1. Oh FFS - was almost there until being royally messed about with my MIJ P on Gumtree........
 2. Thanks for the input. Unsure as to how long it will be before we gig as it is a newly formed band - only had two rehersals but things are coming together. Should I go for a lightweight combo to fulfill the immediate need? Any suggestions on a compact portable lighgtweight combo?
 3. Royally messed about on Gumtree so.....bump...
 4. Nobody familiar with these?

 6. As title says: Anyone Got Or Tried The Farida HB 20? http://faridaguitars...arida_hb20.html
 7.
It's not worth you having this at your rehearsal place! But seriously it's easy to move around with the wheels it's only when you get to stairs you notice the weight. Its a lot of amp for the money. Jump to this link at 4:30 for some sounds. Cheers
Haha - you bloomin so and so..... . Not sure if this chap is giving the amp a glowing recommendation or not .
 8.
Yes. He lives in Chorley, works in Burnley.
That'll be me - thanks Karl. RnR Dave I've PM'ed you. Also got a Fender P that may be of use to you as agreeing part of a deal? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210093-reduced-fender-19931994-mij-precision-foto-flame-in-blue-now-l399/page__fromsearch__1
 9. Damn - tempted by this but sure I need a separate head and cab. Please tell me its not worth me having this to leave at rehearsal space and have a separate amp and head for gigging. If I could sell a bass or two I could be getting in trouble with Mrs BB...
 10.
Markbass - Light and Loud but they've always been a little too clean for my liking GK - I've not ever played one in earnest but I quite like the "rock" sound I can coax from them TC Electronic - Light, Loud and Versatile... I could go on but I'd be considered more than a little biased Yup but we've already spoke about that
Agreed - , just doing my due diligence. If it makes any difference to any suggestions I have a Zoom B9.1ut that I could well make use of.
 11.
You won't get more "bang for your buck" than the deal Bass Direct have on the Genz Benz Contour combo's. £349 for thew 1x15 and £399 for the 2x10. 300w lightweight combo. add an extention and get a full 500W and a guarentee. Mark will explain why they are so cheap. http://www.bassdirec...s_210,_115.html
Thanks for this - similar price on GAK and they appear to have the 1 x 15 and the 2 x 10 in stock - not both in stock at Bassdirect? Any input on either the 1x 15 or 2 x 10?
 12. I'd prefer to buy used off here to get more bank for my buck but is this a good deal: GK MB212 for £449 http://www.soundsliv...LAID=1830894785
 13. Any other suggestions please? Any bargains in the For Sale section on here?
 14. Thanks for the input so far. Further info - budget, lets say £500 max or I could sell/trade a bass to strectch this a little. Size and weight is important as I would be loading into a saloon boot. Saloon boot is a good size but the boot has a high sill and the 'apperture' is not the widest. I think best to plan on having no FOH support. Ones that have already attracted my attentions are: Various Markbass Gallien-Krueger MB212-II 500W TC Electronic RH450 - not familiar with the TC Electronic name - what are the general opinions? GK MB500 - but then that leaves the question of what cabs to pair with it. Also, Peavey BAM 2 x 10 that Geddy'snose on here is selling looks great but will probably be too big and heavy.
 15. Having found myself now back in a proper band this may need to go on the backburner for me. Will endevour to make time to have a go though but priorities and time constraints have shifted a little. Thanks for the input though guys.
 16. Yep - signed up as well. I assume its the same as the previous course? I signed up for the previous one but with with births, deaths, marriages, funerals, holidays etc could not commit to the programme. Will commit to it this time though.
 17. Hy BC Illuminati, I've just posted this in the wanted section: http://basschat.co.u...tly-be-gigging/ I am completely out of the loop when it comes to ampage Can you please point me in the right direction? What are the best deals around at the moment on new and used amps? Any great deals to be had in the BC marketplace? Will be playing a range of covers from 70's to stuff that is so modern I've not even heard of it!!!!! Small to medium sized venues. Line up, 2 vocals, 2 guitars, drums and bass. Ideally looking for one, lightweight solution to fit into boot of my saloon car. Big sized boot but obviously not the best shape for bass amps. Thanks
 18.
Got a few DT CDs so if you want a loan just let me know.
Thanks - might have to take you up on that. Toying with the idea of seeing them in Manchester in February as well.
 19.
You buy one, I'll buy one and swap?
OK - leave it with me - you hold off for now and I'll pick something up. In the meantime there is a reasonable amount of stuff on youtube. You into Dream Theatre by any chance as well Mr EAD?
 20.
Not familiar with them but from what I gather there is a CD/DVD compilation available called 'Heathenology' which sounds a sensible place to start.
Thanks - may have to pick this up, although I like a bit of prog rock I am by no means an expert. Having said that I am surprised that I have not come across them before as the back catalogue is top drawer IMO.
 21.
Me again (sorry), any particular CD you would point me to?
Hello again - I'm not that too familar and was looking to be pointed in a direction similar to yourself. Apart from the stuff on youtube I was looking for a place to start with them as well.
 22.
Excellent news Mr BB. Obviously I'll need to be informed of forthcoming gigs!
Thanks, will do - everyone is fairly competent (apart from me - haha) so will hopefully come together pretty quickly.
Nice one, good luck with it all!
and thank you to you - your old Dolphin will be getting a well deserved live outing soon!!!
