1. Funky looking - shame it's collection from Dorset only or I'd be wanting to colour myself interested.
2. I'm looking to free up funds by selling probably two basses and replacing with just the one. One of the basses on the possible list to bring in is a Spector Euro LX TW with the Single / Dual coil switchable pickups. My thinking being that the switchable pickups will offer a very versatile bass. Can I ask for peoples first hand experiences of these and also compared to the 'classic' versions. If there are any these in the local vicinity of Chorley / Lancs (shops or BC'ers) that could have a go on I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
3. Does it have to be an electric bass? Have you considered an inexpensive acoustic / electro acoustic bass so there are no leads / amps to invest in and have lying around?
4. For Sale: The BTC Control features a bass and treble equalizer on a concentric (stacked) pot. It takes up very little space and will work with any pickup, active or passive. It comes complete with knobs (including 2 extra volume knobs). BTC Controls and Systems are the most widely used bass EQ Systems in the world. Approximately 12db of cut and boost are available for bass and treble and all controls are center detented to assure quick return to normal tone settings. A dual-dip switch is mounted to the PC Board that lets you program the high end frequency response four different ways so you can choose the sound that's right for you. These systems use the latest in surface mount technology, are extremely quiet, and require very little current from a 9 Volt battery. More information here. 5. Update - managed to get some decent tones of of this tonight. It's the optional passive mid EQ that throws me. It's very bright so plenty of mid, bit of bass and roll off the treble gives a pleasing sound. Good news, as it's a great playing and great looking bass.
6. Thanks for the comments Guys - IMHO its a good bass at a good price. Surprised it hasn't gone yet but the market seems very flat everywhere at the moment - tricky times....
7. Superb - well done - that is a proper song. A song, that does my favourite thing - actually goes somewhere, not the usual verse/chorus/verse/chorus etc all at the same dynamic. Bet it's great to play and to listen to live.
8. Great looking bass Great souding bass Great guy to deal with What more could you want?
9. The video's are of the condition of the bass. No playing video sorry but I'm sure you all know what a USA Fender P sounds like.
10. My First Gig, Manchester Apollo on this Tour......
11. Cheers - I don't want to really mod the bass and I don't really want to get rid as it is a beautiful and lovely bass to play, fussy bugger eh? Not familiar with DR Fatbeams, will they give me some more thump as I would hope that flats would?
12. I've done some short video clips of the bass that I can email to anyone who wants to see them - just PM me. In these I've been able to show the dinks and marks better than I could capture with the camera. Also, better picture of the dink inside the horn here:
13. I've got a 5 String Warwick Hot Rod, it's a great bass but I'd like to get a different sound (my sound) out of if I could. It's all maple and has a chambered body so it is very bright sounding. Ideally I'd like more bottom end from it. Is the easiest option to try it with a good set of flats?
14. Yes - it is a very nice bass. The modifications have taken an already great bass up to another level.
15. Agree with all of the above - GREAT basses but VERY wide necks. Admittedly I haven't got the biggest hands but the L2500 was unplayable for me due to the width of the neck.
16. My word....what has happened there??? If it is genuine that is a real bargain. Must be a very interesting back story to this - I cannot see how someone can have a bass of this calibre and not know it. Let us know how you get on fella.
17. It is the small one - folds up to fit inside a gig bag. It's slightly smaller than A4 size when folded up. I don't know if it would fit a ukelele though. Does that help or not?
