  1. Pretty sure it was sold to me as a Fender but I'll do a trawl through old PM's and clarify as I would never wish to intentionally mislead. Update it was sold to me as a Squier VM pickup, now not sure what the hell it is!.
  2. eBay are doing sell for a £1 deals but you only get 1 chance, you can't re-list at that fee. Presumably the PP commission is still taken too on any funds?
  3. I'm saying there are lot of Basses out there and I wasn't prepared to take a very low price for one of the Basses. An identical Bass to mine was on eBay for almost £1000, and I put it up a lot less than a JV Squier which is basically what it was. I think if you hold your nerve and are prepared to trade too you can achieve a good return. I was not prepared to risk the market price by starting low and maybe not hitting a target price. In all the ads I stated a price ( which I subsequently dropped ) and said I was amenable to offers.
  4. You did well to find an Elf this close to Christmas....
  5. As I operate on a 1 in- 2 out policy (!) I have listed a couple of Basses over the last 2 months. I have been struck by the number of high end Basses that have been present although mine were £420 and £250 respectively. Not having sold on here for some time I was surprised how long it took to sell them, given both were very affordable AFAIC. Also the volume of Basses was incredible, I'd bump the ad and 1 hour later it was off the front page! Re the 'old Squier' debate, both mine were Squiers, one a 93 Japan, the other a 2006 Indo. I had a huge amount of looks on the Japan one (over 2000 I think) and around 1000 on the Indo P-J. The Japan sold for less ( I dropped the price over £100) than I'd hoped given its pedigree and rare colour: the Indo I traded on with cash my way and with the trade that I've just sold have covered what it cost me. I now have an amp to sell and as one exactly the same has just been posted, I'm holding off as it feels a bit mean to post mine which I can afford to sell cheaper and with a cover too! The alternative for me was eBay and I did take advantage with the Japan Squier of the 'sell for £1' but I did set a buy it now or offers. Got one offer after it timed out but again lots of interest but no hard cash. To repost I would have had to pay the normal fee. I have bought on the Facebook Bass UK page before but do appreciate the sense of community and feedback system with Basschat There are still definitely bargains to be had on here, I've just bought a very little used well-known brand combo which has dropped £150 since first posting and is now £250 less than list and less than 6 months old. Oh, those Behringer Personal monitors looked a snip at £75 each too!
  6. Tim has just bought a Bass from me: instant payment and great comms too. Buy, sell, or trade with Tim with complete confidence.
  7. Will be doing some work on one of my Basses and the neck could be off for at least a couple of months. Should I slacken the truss rod ( as the neck will not be pulling against the string tension) and if so, by how much please?
  8. It's obvs really, 'Men's Bass': black and strong, 'Woman's Bass: pink and girly......
  9. I don't know if it's the same for Jazz plates but with the P Bass there are 10 and 13 hole variants which one needs to be careful of. Having never bought a 10 hole variant I'm not sure if the holes are spaced the same but just less of them , if you follow?
  10. MarkBass CMD 121 P with the £15 velcro wedge inserted.
  11. Dean has just bought a lovely Japanese Squier from me. Excellent communication and instant payment. Deal with him with confidence.
  12. I thought even the earlier ones had graphite reinforcement in the neck?
  13. Dunno, this is the ad I bought them from: I'm not an expert at the nuances of Fender Pickups but given CS ones cost £120 a set and I paid £45, I doubt it!
  14. I had a droopy 5'er a long time ago. It was my go-to Bass. £400 tops is what I'd pay, coincidentally what I got for my Jaydee that I traded in for it...! A similar Bass to it now is the Fender/Squier Dimension single pickup..
  15. I have the following for sale: Fender American Classic 2012 Precision Bass Pickups as new: 10.9 resistance, £40 plus postage. An ideal upgrade for a Squier. A Squier P-J set from an Indonesian 2006 Bass. I swapped these out for some SD's so the Jazz pickup cover is the SD one, as it would not fit the Bass. However if you did a swap out just put the pickup in your original Jazz cover too. These would be ideal to upgrade an Infinity series Bass. P: 9.9,J: 6.2 resistance £30 25 plus postage. I have been told these are actually US sourced. Just found another Squier VM Jazz Bridge Pickup too, no idea of vintage. It has allen-socket adjustable pole pieces. 9.2 Resistance so hot! £12.50 10.00 plus postage, photo now below. As promised below, photos of the Squier VM Bridge Jazz Pickup
  16. Yes, tried to match them to the decal. Actually, I've just joined a Bay City Rollers Tribute Band called 'Summerlove Sensation'.....
