  1. Yes, but do read the exclusions in the T&C, as many have found they've paid for insurance which does not apply to the carriage of musical instruments. I also seem to recall one courier would insure a bass if lost but not if it was damaged in transit.
  2. Yep, Boston, Berlin and Holy Island!
  3. I had issues with the J pickup casing size on an indonesian PJ I had. A SD bassline would not fit so had to put the SD pickup into the Squier casing and ream out the pole piece holes a shade.
  4. When you say 'threw in' I'd just like to clarify I didn't literally throw it at you.....
  5. Not sure if a pencil is hard or soft wood but would guess it's not the best material to make a nut with. If you are handy with a small saw a piece of boiled dog bone makes a good nut if you have the time and patience. Just leave the marrow alone...
  6. Great trade with Stew, we even met at a deserted pub car park and handed over our respective items. Great comms. and a total pleasure to deal with.
  7. Despite the name, I'm back to 4's although did a gig a few weeks ago with the 5. The only issue I have is I forget about the B string and started one song in the wrong key( as if it was a 4 string bass).
  8. Looks like this is a device that could be marketed to all musicians who use a lead: may I suggest it's called the 'Jean Genie'?
  9. Well it seems to have gone so there must have been some resonance in the room. No sign of any water so can't have been a standing wave...! Thanks to both for the suggestions.
  10. He has a white one with jazz pickups in the back of the picture too
  11. Seller says 'Any Question do ask'. Mine would be 'why?'
  12. Just been learning 'Just the 2 of Us' (Bill Withers played by Marcus Miller) . On the intro one plays the opening figure up the neck and finishes the riff on an F, 10th fret on the G string. On the F I'm getting weird overtones, almost like too much sustain leading to feedback. Similarly on the E, a semitone below there's a weird doppler effect as the note seems to vary on and off the tone. Using same newish flat wounds as on other P Basses but never had this issue before. Anyone got any ideas what could be the issue please? I've adjusted the pickup height to no discernible difference to the overtone/feedback. Action is not stupidly low and there are no weird tones when played acoustically..... I've tried damping the other strings to rule them out picking up resonance from the G. Any tonal detectives out there?
  13. I wouldn't bother asking Jaco as he's unlikely to reply....😉
  14. Not necessarily... prices could be lower in the USA due to the laws of supply and demand and even after paying all duties you could still get a Bass otherwise unobtainable in UK?
  15. Hi Paddy As far as I know but think I am the 3rd or 4th owner so cannot guarantee it. Happy to photograph them for you if that helps?
  16. If you do a lot of Steve Miller songs then I think a 'Joker' shim would be best....
  17. That waxwork of Ed looks spookily realistic...
  18. Was it the Daily Star who announced Freddie Starr 'ate my hamster'? It should have been as it's good to have top investigative journalism like that... P.S. Who's John Deacon?
