  1. Weirdly the link appeared and now has vanished, maybe like the Basses? I have to say I had a NBD yesterday ( a Buttercream P Player) and it arrived via UPS with 'ner a hiccup, collected Monday and delivered yesterday from the Midlands.
  2. Whatever the wood , make sure the Bass is good for Metal
  3. I always make an obvious error just to check people are fully reading the ad...forgot to mention 19mm ( I need Specsavers) was the width for 2 strings and it is 38mm for 4! However you do win the 'October Ad Observance Award (S.W. England category). This is a highly coveted accolade and whilst not monetised in any shape or form gives you an entry into the annual Role of Honour with the Trophy ( a plectrum) being awarded at the next S.W. Bash. Seriously , thanks for your diligence🙂!
  4. Can't believe this one was ever released unless it was an early nod to Lady Gaga:
  5. 'Bout a 1-2 months ago I recall, he was telling all about his bespoke Warwick bass I think?
  6. Selling (due to incoming) a very nice Indonesian Squier Standard Precision Bass. This has the P-J pickup configuration and has been upgraded to Seymour Duncan Basslines which are £130 new. Has the Jazz width neck (38mm at nut), a low action and a black pearloid scratchplate, I've added a white pearloid option photo too! Nothing much else to say other than there is some buckle rash on the rear which has not broken through the Candy Apple Red finish but gives the neck-plate some Mojo! Weight is 8.9 lbs and will pack double-boxed for Courier, at cost. Having just reviewed the photos, there will be no extra charge for the finger-crud showing between the pick-ups which will be removed before sale! Update: I'd be happy to remove the Seymour Duncan pickups and replace them with the OEM's and sell it for £150 thus making it very affordable
  7. Due to incoming , I am reluctantly parting with this International Series 1993-4 'Maui Blue' Precision Bass from Japan. It is stock apart from a rather nice Badass II. Dating from 1993 and having being played, it has a few dints and chips as photographed, with the worst being underneath at the rear. The 'Ripcurl sticker' on the back seems to have protected against buckle rash and does not conceal anything untoward- as far as I can see! Has a lovely tone, low action weighs 8.9lbs and is the rare Maui Blue as photographed. I'll put it in a decent but not OEM hard case for transit too for the full price of £350 . Now with added at the bottom mockup photo of the bass with a pearloid scratchplate although it was for a Buttercream P Bass so has a slightly yellow tinge rather than flat white! I'll be sad to see this go but needs must!
  8. I heard a Mark Audio mini speaker system with small subs at the SW Bash and it sounded great to my ears.....😏
  9. Not trying to be pedantic but you may get more responses if you say its a Little Mark III Head ?
  10. Assuming you are logged in : https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/22-items-wanted-no-trades/
  11. The 'overdrive' button will give you that slightly distorted bass sound and 'contour' will do something else, neither will make much difference but maybe try reading some reviews of the different amps?
  12. I think the neck shim (because he cut the neck pocket too deep) glued in with a 'quality' wood glue (titebond) dramatically increases its value however......
  13. It's 'Hermann the German' or 'music outlet shop'. He sells various bits of paggered wood as instruments for eye-watering prices, just for a laugh have a look at his other items. Most of it is only fit for the fire. This is my current favourite: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15-BASS-CAB-HEAVY-MAHOGANY-/123353839041?hash=item1cb87635c1
  14. There's an Rumble 800 for sale in the ads currently, I have no connection to it needless to say!
  15. I can't see under the Helmut that says 'Chaos'.....
  16. 'So, what advice would you give a 51 year old brand new bassist?' Get another job because if you spend any time on here you'll soon be lusting after more Basses, Amps, FX's etc etc...it's called GAS😁
  17. I actually thought it was placed there for comedic effect...but my OCD would definitely struggle with it there🙄. Anyway, thanks for the heads up/down, otherwise I would have maybe stumbled across it eventually. Both my cheapy plastic tuners have broken on the pivot so with there not being one I did not fully extend it in 3D.
  18. Yes, you are right, I had not investigated the pivot aspect of it yet...but sticking on that last knob would make tone adjustments awkward?
  19. Me ......because I like clipping it on the back of head stock but as long as you can view the 'strobe' bit all is fine.
  20. Must admit I find the 2 page spread of a toothless septuagenarian in the Thomann ad quite off-putting.
  21. Just had a Unitune arrive, hopefully it won't break the way my last 2 cheapy headstock tuners have...... Cost less than £30.00
  22. Interesting how BPM could not continue in a market where there are many more Bass players than in the UK, yet BGM seems to get by over here? Both markets have the bass-centric internet sites as competition: with Talkbass over there and Basschat over here. People complain about the adverts in both publications but the publishers would say they are a necessary evil?
