  1. Just scored this 2005 Indonesian Cort Squier PJ and as well as a dodgy connection which caused the sound to short out, it was wired wrongly and the tone seemed to operate only over the last 20% of travel and more like another volume. I did a quick swap with a pot lying around in my bits box, re-did the wire so it works as a tone now across 100% of travel, but have no idea what type I replaced or fitted. Does anyone know what value the pot should be and should it be log or linear please?
  2. Just got this from another Bass Forum member for considerably less than £300! It's a 2005 Standard Squier in a metallic red and plays very well. Some issues with a dodgy pot ( disclosed) and non original scratchplate and I've never seen a neck plate so scratched. Think the original owner must have had a rotary wire brush for a belt buckle! Possibly a Jazz Bass neck at 38mm wide, my other P's are 40mm.
  3. Odd they've been posted at night, at one time it was always around 11.00 am. BTW now sold out
  4. My bad, thought he only had white ones!
  5. Can't speak from experience re the mechanical issues, but I have had Basses where there was a distinct 2 tone effect (not the music genre): the top half of the neck has been exposed to sunlight and the bottom end has not and 'shading' has occurred. From memory it was a poly finish and was the rear of the neck.
  6. Paul Turner (Jamiroqui) has two white ones: Larry and Bootsy, both shown in this months BGM....
  7. Funny, but whenever I've seen them (online), there's not trace of any of them wearing yellow jackets. At least at Butlins, you could see red jackets....
  8. Pedantic I know, but how can you 'immigrate to Australia' unless you are already there?
  9. Make sure you take the low cut off the monitor channel, did a gig yesterday D'id into the PA and it took 4 songs before I could hear myself in the monitor...!
  10. CD's strung in a line a quite a good pigeon deterrent if the OP is seeking am alternative use...?
  11. Just back from a charity gig at Glastonbury Town Hall. We (Bad Cowboys) did the 6.30-7.30 slot, followed by the Glen Tilbrook flying solo. Ours went very well but Glen is good and has such a back catalogue to draw upon.
  12. Just picked mine up today, really impressed, it has so many pockets! Whilst it's not slim-line like my Protection Racket (£130) and Mono Gig Sleeves(£55) for the money it is a cracking case. Many thanks to the OP for the alert!
  13. What's not to like: no tone controls to worry about and a snip at £1000. That's a 'future classic'.....
  14. Must remember to stand in a field of oil seed rape when I next put something on eBay, seems any old tat will sell?
  15. Yes I saw this and thought 'interesting' There's also a couple of semi acoustic Precisions on at circa £1500 too......
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Telecaster-Bass-1972-Sunburst-Maple-Neck-51-P-Bass-Pickup-The-Pretenders/112991201186?hash=item1a4ecce7a2:g:aLgAAOSwzDBa-F36 About £800 over-priced
  17. Tried to click on the link and fb were getting all defensive about someone logging in from a different location on Thursday on a LG Android so will leave you to sort that out...!
  18. Re 'knowing your instrument as well as knowing your prick', does that count if it's an organ you play?
