At a Dorset Bass Bash a few years ago, Ben Crowe from Crimson Guitars brought along a totally acrylic prototype Bass he made for Robert Plant's Bassist back then. It weighed a ton and with an acrylic neck it had issues..... I'm sure he'd be able to help you, especially if you mention Basschat and the Bash!

My question would be' why do you want to connect up to something else anyway'? It's a practice amp and from the description, quite small and low in features. If you want to gig it will probably not be large enough anyway so if there is a PA, just DI straight into that. You'll hear yourself in the monitors. Otherwise you may need to invest in something, either more powerful or if you want to stay small, with more features like a 'Line Out'. What is the practice amp you have?

Squiers have a 'bar' retainer on the 5 string jazz, that type of thing may work but it means drilling 2 holes in the bass...?

A slight derail but I saw somewhere recently that Fender will do you a bespoke bass ( not CS) and it takes 3 months . That might be for the US only however...?

Yes, they are not the Piezo ones, hence the 'P' in CMD 121P. Incidentally there are some threads about replacing the OEM one with a different one where it is a Piezo version.
