1.
Was it for a Burns Bison?
No, Fender Jaguar.....
2. I've had similar issues with speed of reply with them but as has been pointed out before, they sell huge amounts of gear every day and get loads of emails......not excusing them.
3. I met a Basschatter at Chester Zoo to do an exchange. Not Rhino Edwards....
4. Still returnable under german distance selling regs if you get a lemon/banana!
5.
Depends on the YES song. Owner of a Horse and Cart would be OK with them. And you will now be singing those lyrics next time you hear that song Dave
Wasn't that 'The Steptoe and Son' theme tune?
6.
Oi! You're not allowed to advertise the work of this particular ... erm ... craftsman. Still, it makes a change from butchered 7-string guitars. Reckon this thing feeds back much?
Apparently he has 100% feedback....
7. The fan fret deco 5 er is now down to £165 from £270 and in stock! https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_fanfret_5b_black_burl_deko.htm
8. Sometimes ( as I have discovered) you have to move your saddle to a position that looks wrong, but intonates fine. It is just what it is....!
9. Welcome to the 802 club! It may be worth checking all the screws around the back for tightness, I found quite a few after a few months had loosened up and started to unwind!
10. I have a 5 string Artcore ( 4 string may be different..)and my JC case got for my Warwick Star Bass was not a fit. Annoyingly the body is quite wide but the neck is short so I ended up buying an acoustic bass case from g4music which is wide enough and actually far too long....So I've padded out ( foam) the interior so the bass does not rattle around. The harsh reality is I can squeeze my Artcore into a Fender Bass gig bag and I tend to do that for Open Mics as a big case is a hassle.... Just tried my Artcore in my Gator semi hard case which is the home for my Squier VM P Bass 5 String: if the 4 string Artcore is no wider than this then it will fit a Gator rectangular semi case...
11.
You could put the extension cab flat on the floor and then use the mark stand between the two, so you just angle the combo. I found a picture here, although admittedly it's using the 121H underneath.
I saw this and thought 'genius' but it does not work with a CMD121P and a NYC 121P. If the CMD is underneath the wedge is on top of the plastic handle and the cab contact is over the jack socket, if the other way around the wedge is over the metal handle of the NYC so does not grip.
12.
When your not changing in the toilets
That's 'You know if your international woman's football team has made it'.....
13. I guess 'The first cut is the deepest' was not on the set list then...?
14. Somewhere on this site is a photo of this rig ( both yours and mine) with a custom made stand that tilts the bottom cab and keeps the top combo level. I think it originated in the USA. Found it: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/customized-markbass-cmd-121p-combo-w-ny121-extension-cab-custom-stand-custom-covers.1063946/
15. Try John Boddy's timberyard at Boroughbridge, huge selection of timber for all uses.
16. I used Roto black nylons on a Godin A5 acoustic bass to good effect, you may have to fettle things at the ball end...?
17. Had a GK combo 15 years ago that was stored in a conservatory: mice do like the acoustic padding inside the cab, accessible via the ports!
18. You paid the Luthier to carry out the work to a pro standard, he screwed up, he should bring it back to as new. Looks like he did not use Titebond glue, as that dries clear. How he brings it back to as new is not your/our concern.......he's the pro?
19. Strings look very rough, one looks repaired?
20.
What a brilliant day! Brilliant venue. Brilliant organisation. Brilliant helpers. Brilliant food Brilliant basses and cabs etc Brilliant BassChatters Brilliant raffle Brilliant weather. All in all.........Brilliant Many thanks to Mike and the team.
What about the milk?
21. Had a quick go on the K1 at the SW Bash yesterday. Given the restrictions of having others trying out gear near by, I only got the impression of loads of headroom and tone in such a small package without being able to really let rip. It dwarfed my 802, literally and physically. Had the following all lined up, left to right: 802,Ninja 102, K1, Multiamp and Evo.
22. Just got home from a totally Bass-centric day: Bash 10.00 till 4.00, then Blues Jam in Glastonbury 5.00 -6.40 followed up with rehearsal 7.00 - 10.10. The highlights were between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, so thanks to all concerned, both organisers, helpers and participants. I somehow doubt it but I believe next years will be even better..how can that be?
23.
I have disagree I'm in that one Can someone save me a copy as I would like another. Note: I humbly mentioned as it's a small piece and I'm not the best player...just pushy!
Speaking of Bass Guitar Magazines, I've got a 100 ish consecutive issues dating back to 2007 for sale. PM me if you are interested please as I don't want to lug them across Somerset if there are no takers.....!
24. Both Chowny and Gillett Basses are reviewed in this months BGM, hopefully we will see them both at close quarters?
