1.
I love mine.
Genuine? Looks it: apparently one can buy paper with the pattern on ( some guys on the Tele site scanned it) but I've heard it's $200 a sheet...? This is not accurate but a bit cheaper! http://www.hobbycraf...-cm/589880-1000
2. I've used mine to rehearse with a sax, guitar, keys, drums and 2 vox soul/jazz band and it was fine, has a line out if you need to do so. It was only on about 60% volume but don't know how much louder it would go without distorting? I use my CMD121p for gigs I do gig the 802 with a 2 acoustic guitars, mouth harp, 3X vox americana band ( no drums) and fine too. This may help further if you have not spotted it: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/296307-mark-bass-minimark-802-and-801 It has quite a jazzy voicing and only the VLE and VPF for equalisation
3.
My brother recently bought the black and white 5 string version and says the quality is good. Needed a tweek on the action but plays ok. I have the BaCH semi and can only say that for the money it's brilliant. I reckon your conversion job would work better starting with the painted model and then getting the vinyl you put on cars printed with your Paisley pattern. That way if it does work you at least have a reasonable black bass you can use/sell.
Yes, the black is cheaper but it does not have the maple neck. Also looking at maybe using Paisley fabric.....
4.
Hmmmmmmmm, of course! :-/
Still looks very interesting, wonder what sort of finish you could get DIY in a sink?
5.
Have a look at Hydro-graphics, I know you could get Paisley then just lacquer it yourself. I think you'd get a better finish than wallpaper :-)
Interesting but unsure how I'd get the sunburst effect around the edges as the graphic would be above the base colour.
6.
I am doing a paisley at the moment. Well, not at the moment, I am waiting until it is warmer to start painting!
We must have a chat on Sunday then...!
7. I fancy one of these and am toying with options. Given they did not make a 5er, I'm thinking of getting one of these (Bach BPB60) sanding the clearcote and pasting pink paisley wall paper over the body. Then spraying the edges to get a burst effect., then clearcote These come in at c £250. Or sticking to a 4 string HB for around £90 and doing the same. Am I mad?
8. I had an 801 and then got an 802, both handled the low B at levels appropriate to the wattage.
9.
Great that Allan Davies is endorsing them
He just needs a title for the clip....
10. Looks like a development of the Multiamp? Possibly too new for one to come to the SW Bash Kevin?
11. Used to play in a band with Francis Lickerish who did guitar with The Enid. Smashing chap he was.
12. I'm interested but can't find a 'currier' to pick it up.....
13. Have a bump on me as it was mine before. This is a lovely Bass!
14.
How was it resolved? Did you manage to get a direct replacement? I've been following the thread but didn't see an answer, sorry if I missed it!
Go back to Post #1
15. If there is no allen- keyed shaped hole in the top-bracing then it would appear it is bereft of a truss rod.... return to sender!
16. I've got a surplus Thomann outer and inner bass box if anyone wants them, gratis. Obviously will only bring it along if someone indicates a need.
17. Have you looked inside the soundhole for the truss-rod adjustment? My HB 's was located in there and I sorted the buzzes via that route.
18.
anything by Mark D Phillips.
19. Jarrit Reddick and David Gates for the first course (Bowling for Soup, Bread), Lou Rhodes and Marvin Lee Aday for the mains (Lamb, Meatloaf), Will I.Am (Black Eyed Peas),Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumkins),Paddy MCAloon (Prefab Sprout), Martha Johnson (Martha and the Muffins), Eric Clapton (Cream) or Vanilla Ice, finishing off with Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate)
20. They say if you remember the 60's you weren't really there....
21. T -Cut can be a bit severe for minor scratches....
22. Can't comment on a Cetus, but I had a Stagg which had a headphone socket otherwise I would have had to plug into an amp. If your amp has a headphone socket you could go that route but I'd doubt any EUB is designed to be loud enough to practice acoustically based on my Stagg experience (unless you are in a quiet room!)
23. Another issue with an hollow bass and soundhole can be feedback at volume levels on stage that would not trouble a solid bass. I had a Godin acoustic and a Warwick Star Bass ( semi acoustic) and had to be a bit careful with the Godin even though the soundhole was not really a soundhole....! https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/A5UltraNSG5
